  2. Yes, you must own a Yamaha to be the president Chimeing in. Only 1 person went to the last Star days. & he did'nt go to the 2007 chattanooga rally it was voted on, that the national didn't really do anything for the local clubs. they started out wih a bang, when they spoke about National, but dropped the ball, on all the chapters that made it happen. they basically prased them selfs, for doing a great job, of putting the event together. and never said Thank You, to the people for supporting the cause. they mad a big show, with the parade of motorcycle riding down the road behind the food truck. (Which, they unloaded, and gave everyone a box to strap to the bikes, for show and tell. at the end of the parade, I expected to help out hundreds of cars, loading food into there trunks..... THREE car showed up..... what a F******G waist of time:doh:
  3. No. But Thank You Ruffy... they will be informed when I go back..... Now thats what Um talking about................. Some REALLY GOOD people here, always looking out for one another.
  4. venture has two types of brakes, the standard shoe, and the after market shoe, after market (Better) most yamaha shops carry both. I personal use my motor, clutch & brake together to slow me down, and I do it, way in advance

  6. I to was a member of star, 48 bucks for NOTHING!!!!!! We went to Star Days In Chattanoogia Tennesseein in 2007. At the awards dinner, they didn't even thank the club(s) for raising the monies, to help the charity "Feed the Children" its was all about the board members only. It was the Biggest bunch of Bull S*** I ever saw. and our chapter should up with the most riders (33 from Ft. lauderdale) and 24 bucks to ride with a group that will not leave home. they would not do anything with other clubs, no poker runs NOTHING...... 2 years was enough:doh: I saw this chapter being dragged down. I just stepped out. We will ride alone for now on.... only thing my wife got out of it were a few nice new friends.
  7. So, the week of the 19th- 24th of July, you can take that trip again, and come visit my little group from Ft. Lauderdale Florida area.:cool10:
  8. I have the 07, that happened to me twice, before the Fuel pump went. and Yamaha NO" about it. riding at 65 the first time, and about two weeks later at 35, we had to sit for about 20 minutes, pulled the choke, and laid on the starter, it finally kicked over. rode it home, the next morning rode it over to the shop, and had everything tested, they said the fuel pump is going. something about the pump gets hot, and shuts down. the thing is, Yamaha no's the bikes are doing this. Hence..... our 5 year warranty's I'm starting to think, they have to have a 5 year warranty, or they'd have a major law suit on their hands....
  9. You told your wife she was cooking for the whole event!!!
  10. one the picture FreeBird has before tighting, is what mine look like. Two: the left lower fairing is loose, tightened that down with allen wreches tires are 3/4 worn away. about 10 thousand miles on them. bike has 34,400.00 miles on it, and has never been touched when the bike is on its stand, the handlebars always, move the tire to the left to its stops, without touching it.

(grease the pins and remove the rear wheel and what ever else)Every time I change the back tire, I drop the Def oil also 3- Are there any other issues with this bike that need to be addressed as soon as the bike is picked up from the dealer? Make sure there are no metzler tire on the bike, the rear tires always seem to fail, my 1st 2 failed 4- How are the bikes for general overall maintenance? at 12, 300 miles I had the drive shaft changed out, gears were stripping at 23,000 the Fuel Pump replaced. at 34,000, I'm having the Carbs adjusted, out of sink my next bike will be a goldwing

  20. I don't care how old you feel, It takes time to build up to doing a 500 to 1000 mile day. in 28 years of riding, my longest day was 1076 miles, pulling this thing, one up But with the wife, our longest day was 535 & took just as long
