I'll keep looking Roadie. At least now everyone can see what they look like. They are really nice looking bags.

Make sure you look under "OEM Parts" To see the picture of the bike is at another sight. Just type in under google search. 2000 Royal star Tour Classic and your choice will come up.

I road it to class that night and to work the next day. It did make a difference, Thanks again! -
What a difference changing out the clutch fluid after 39,000 miles. No more hard shifting and the clutch handle much stronger. Thanks for all the good info on this sight.

Yep the Squid did it again. He has helped out another Venture Rider in distress. He stopped by on his way home from work and showed me how to back bleed my clutch and get it going again. I say thank you Squidley and I hope you had a great ride home. Maybe your not there yet but again I say thank you.

Thanks Brad. I called and left you a message to call my cell phone. Maybe I can get the info over the phone. I think at one time I saw that you work in Pontiac? Lake Orion is just up the road. Thanks again.

Another one for the experts here.....

That's what I would do is re-sync the carbs. If that doesn't work maybe a bad plug wire. It ought to be under warranty if ya can't get it fixed. Good luck. -
I bought the speed bleeders for the brakes and clutch. I have a 04. Anyway I must have done it wrong when I first drained all the fluid out of the clutch before I put the new speed bleeder on. After I did that, I filled the reservoir up and tried pumping the clutch handle with the speed bleeder cracked a half or full turn and nothing happens. What did I do wrong?
-
Thanks for the offer on the assist Squid. I did change out the fluid on the brakes early this spring. The old way, but I have not changed out the clutch fluid. I guess I will look in the manual and see what it evolves. I have never used speedbledders before. You buy them and leave them on?
-
How do you replace the clutch fluid?

That looks like "Creeping Charlie" to me also. Just look on the bottle and it must say it will kill Creeping Charlie. It will just disappear before your eyes in a day or two. If not spray again.

My friend just called after talking with his Uncle. It is a 1990 Blue/Grey in color. Only 20,000 miles, still only $3000.00. Sorry for all the confusion. I was asked to ask so I did with what info that has been given. Sorry! Just trying to do a favor.

Ok, ok I blew it on the question for a 73 Venture. I was testing ya's. My friend says it is a 87 or 88. The color is blue with 30,000 miles. His Uncle wants to sell it for $3000.00 What kind of things should I have my friend look out for? If there is anything, to look out for!

I have a friend that has a uncle that wants to sell a 73 Venture for $3000.00 with 30,000 miles on it. Is that a good price ? Also, what should he look out for? Thanks

Well I took all the bulbs out and cleaned and put the dielectric grease on everything. There was a lot of rust starting to form where ever it could. All the bulbs work when I put back together but now both sides blink fast all the time. At least they are blinking. I will try and track it down as to the problem when I have more time on a rainy week-end. I will try the switch cleaning also.
-
I will clean tonight after work. Hope it works! Thanks
-
That's what I have always found it to be was a bulb out. Not this time.

(04 Mid-Night Venture) I road to work yesterday and noticed the left turn signal was blinking fast. Got to work and looked at the front and rear bulbs as they were blinking. Both lights were blinking but at a fast pace. The right turn was normal. On the way home from work I noticed the right side started blinking fast also. I got home and checked out the right side and it had gone back to normal but left side is still blinking fast. What do you think? Ground wire?

This was a project that I was going to do in the winter but it was so cold most of the winter I didn't feel like it. Today after work I fired up the wood stove in the garage and started in. I finished changing the coolant, the spark plugs. and flushed the brake fluid in both the front and rear. I took the coolant reservoir off and cleaned it all out also. The coolant was really in pretty good shape but thought it was time after 38,000 miles. I actually enjoy working on the bike now and can take the time and not be rushed as when I was a kid. It was not a bad job at all for those that may be wanting to but are hesitant because of never doing it before. I am ready for the riding season to be here. Take care.
-
You may get cold on the outside but a warm and happy feeling will be on the inside. A little shiver :snow2: never hurt no one. Enjoy your ride.

It has been a good winter here in Michigan this year. Lot's of snow for sure. I was going to do some updates on the bike this winter but decided to wait till early spring when it's not so cold. I have to change the coolant, spark plugs, new battery. Install Mic-Mutes, Grip Puppies and I can't remember the rest right now. Other than that I am doing fine and looking forward to spring.

Passing Lamp installation HELP!
T.J. replied to royalstarjac's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Ok Jack, I had a good meal and here are the numbers. The mount for 99-08 is STR-4XY35-40-00 $113.21 The lamps are STR-4-XY35-10-00 $89.21 from South Seattle Yamaha Sports Plaza. I would check with your local Yamaha Dealer and see what they can do, or you may have found a great deal except for the fact you don't have the right bar. Good luck and hope it works out. -

T.J. replied to royalstarjac's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My info says it should be XVZ13TF passing Lamp Mount for the Venture. I'll keep checking. It might have to wait till I eat. The wife just said it was ready.
