  1. I was cleaning the garage floor Sunday after church. I had the squeegee pushing out all the water left over from the wifes car and got the torpedo heater going to dry up the floor. Got the garage up to 60. I put the DRZ400 in line with the heater to warm up the oil and than took it for a short ride. It felt good to have the wind in my face. The first time in a long time the temp was above freezing Spring is coming:sun:
  2. I read about that and in the summer it does some funny things and bugs stick to it real bad.
  3. Thanks Chinto, That might do the trick. I would have to wait for it to warm up so I could stick the stuff on. I was in the Air Force with a guy named Roger Skolas that lived in Joliet. I stayed with him a couple of times while going back and forth to California. Many, many years ago. Thanks again for the info.
  4. I have had a dish for work at work for the last 4 years. I couldn't get dsl unless I paid $4000.00 to get it installed. I would have been the first in this area so I bought the dish. It sets on top of our 1 1/2 story building. This winter has been very bad with snow hanging up on the dish. I looked on the INTERNET to get ideas on how to solve this problem. Spraying with what ever W-D 40 or the likes. Came across some stuff called DOME MAGIC. Ordered the can and I got it back in November. I can't put it on yet cause the temp. needs to be between 60 and 110. Fat chance of that happening for awhile. I had to go up and brush the snow off again today after Saturday's snow fall. The roof is pitched and I fall every time I come back down. The last part of the roof is not pitched very much so I don't worry about going all the way down to the ground. What a pain this is to deal with. I should move the dome to the side of the building where I could reach it from the ground but there is really not a good place to do that. Does anyone know of something you can put on in the middle of winter that would make the snow slide off?
  5. Well, your Diesel is a lot more dirty than Kerosene and it would effect you more in the long run as far as your lungs go. It is ok for outside use but not for in your house use. We have two gas stations close by that sell Kerosene at the pump. I watch the prices and when it drops I fill up a container and keep the heater filled up in the garage. The heater holds 9 gallons.
  6. I had a set for less than a year. One day out riding stopped for gas and I noticed a split in the right side. It wasn't long and the left side split also. I tore them off the next stop.
  7. I can't open it Ian. Maybe be it's too cold out.
  8. In the first thd. it shows in the picture 3203. That means the tire was made in the 32nd week of the year 2003. In other words in August.
  9. One of the deck hands had to do it. Short story is I didn't go. Can you imagine being a deck hand and the boss says "load that bike on here and don't scratch it" I don't blame you for not going.
  10. Getting bored with the cold I was reading some of the old threads about riding on gravel and different conditions. It reminded me of times we boarded ferries. The first time was in the U. P. in Mich at DeTour Village. We were going over to Drummond Island for a ride. The ramp takes some getting use to both driving on and off of the ferries especially if the are the big ones. "Ferries" that is. The next time was over by Boyne City Mich. We were riding along the south side of Lake Charlevoix heading toward Ironton. The GPS unit started flashing and warned that the road ends ahead. I thought what in the world does that mean, "road ends". As we toped the hill you could look down the other side and the GPS started flashing "Board Ferry" Sure enough we had to take the ferry across the south leg of Lake Charlevoix to continue on our way. It was a very nice ride it that area of Michigan. Thought I would share and find out has anyone had trouble boarding or Leaving a ferry? Looking forward to spring.
  11. Joy, joy, joy and Merry Christmas. Congrats.
  12. I have two of these. Ameristep Outhouse Pop-Up blind. It is plenty tall enough when you are sitting down to draw your bow. It has three windows and the door. Very adjustable for the openings of the windows. You can get them at Dunham"s for around $30. bucks on sale.
  13. At least you are getting some answers MickO. Thanks Goose, I was feeling bad no one was answering this post so I gave only what I could give. A thought!
  14. Gee Mick, Try bleeding the brake some and see if that will move the piston and free it up. Don't know what else to say and must be, nobody else did either. Good luck in getting it back the way you liked it.
  15. I have an 04 and this is what I notice when they go out of sync. It doesn't start as easy and I feel vibration in the handlebar's while riding. I just synced mine last week and it starts much quicker and the vibration is gone.
  16. If anyone needs another mount for anything. Check this place out. http://www.CustomMounts.com/ They have decent prices. I needed another garmin mount for a bike and they have them in stock for the Zumo series.
  17. Thanks!
  18. I went to set the cruse control today and it did not work. I made sure the switch was on but nothing. I turned it "the switch" off. I don't think I have ever had it in the off position because it really sticks out in off. Any way, I turned it back on and the lights came on for a second than back off. Did the same over and over. The last time I did it I left it off for a mile or so. Turned it back on and this time all is working. Go figure, maybe the switch went bad or is going bad?
  19. I can be a friend. Thanks for asking. I just saw it.

  20. Don't use the front brake when you get into the gravel. You should be OK. Make sure the front tire is straight when you take off. Have fun next time you go over.
  21. I thought I could make it down for Maintenance Day and bring a friend regardless of weather, but my Mom is now as of last Saturday staying with us under Hospice care. It is sometimes a day by day effort and than hour by hour. She is not in pain but unable to do anything for herself. I will be staying close to home. She does know The Lord as her savior and is ready. May you all have a great time and be safe riding to and from Don's.
  22. I bought the Yamaha brand for full face HJC Helmet. It also said in the directions to cut holes, but you did not have to. The ear pieces should fit right behind the foam where your ear is. The mic should clamp right on the bottom of your helmets. I did not cut anything. Good luck and just take your time. It is not all that bad.
  23. Congrats on the new home. It is always exciting to get something new. May you have many happy years in your new home.
  24. I hope this morning finds you both doing well. Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
