  1. I forgot to add that there was a small amount of grit on the old Friction Disc's as I was taking them out of the bike. It was like it was part of the disc's them selfs. The housing seemed clean and everything else. It was strange. Has anyone else had this when replacing the clutch?
  2. Yep, I got 'er done tonight. A lot of interruptions like helping the wife get the groceries in the house and eating supper. Grand kids coming over and the likes. Anyway the job was not to bad. You just had to pay close attention when your working. Per instructions from our web sight page 5. QUOTE "There is a flat steel washer in there that you have to work at getting out". UNQUOTE. Yep he was right on that one. What I finally did was take a Air Hose and blow in there to get it out. The forced air released it from the back wall so you could grab it with your fingers. It worked great. New trick for some that have a hard time getting that thing out. Next on page 6 of instructions. QUOTE "If you are doing the upgrade like I did, you will now install the first friction plate," UNQUOTE That should read "friction disc" as it is called on page 5. So as not to confuse It did me. Next, FYI the new clutch spring is .009 thicker than the old one and no, the old one could not wear down. Took it for a ride and all works great. By the way, 70 inch lbs is really nothing at all. My goodness your little finger can do that. Thanks for the offer of help Squid. I appreciate that. Have a great evening you all.
  3. Electric gloves might help ya. You could also get the heated liner for your jacket, socks for your boot's as well.
  4. If you need help packen er up call me Squid.
  5. Yep, me too.
  6. Going down a four lane hwy. in Pontiac today, two lanes going both ways. I was in the outside lane and a guy decided to get on it and pass a car in front of him in the inside lane. That means coming over into my lane. I moved over very quick but had no place to go. I was now at his left rear door and getting closer. I finally found the horn. "The Horn" is the WOLO Air Horn. I hit that button and stayed on it. He had his window down and then he over reacted to the LOUD noise. He cut the car back to the right and almost hit the car in front of him that he was trying to pass, as he was slamming on his brakes. The car in front of him was also braking because they thought a freight train was coming. I know for a fact he would have never heard the stock horn. All turned out well. Next time I won't keep it on so long.
  7. Thanks Squid. I did not get a chance tonight so maybe tomorrow night.
  8. Yep, mine started slipping about two months ago. Very slight at first and now very noticeable. I ordered the clutch up grade this past Monday 09-21-09 from PCW Racing and received it today 09-23-09 by UPS. Pretty good I would say. I just might start on it tonight after work and see how it goes. I may understand the instructions more once I get in there and see what it is like. Thanks to this sight as to know where to order parts and do the work.
  9. You can use "Paraffin Wax" for canning. When we cut Aluminum or Plastic here at the shop on the band saw we always coat the blade with the wax. It stops the chips from sticking to the blade and therefore keeps it clean and cool. Been doing that for years. Paraffin wax also works well when you are melting lead for making bullets. You drop a small piece into the lead once it is hot and it will bring all the nonconformities to the top so you can scoop the junk out. Injoy the weekend if ya want to.

    Good morning

Glad your happy, but Texas needs the rain also. It is still suppose to get up to the 80's today and 90 tomorrow. We will be heading out for the reunion at 12:30 or so.Taking our rain gear for sure even though we will be driving the truck out. Take care and may all work out for the two of you.
  12. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. It is still raining here in Michigan :rain2: . We do need it as the old saying goes. It is suppose to go all day long. We have a family reunion at 1:00 and is suppose to be outside today. We will see. Take care everyone and have a great day if you want to.
  13. It always feels good when you have put off something and then finally get to it and get it done. Well, I had put off splitting the fairing even though I have done it at least 4 times before. I just did not want to do it. I had to figure out why my right front running light did not work. The turn signal worked, but no running light. The visor on the headlight also need to be fixed. Well I finally got around to it Saturday night. Split the fairing, and fixed the visor. That was the simple part. Took all the wiring apart that runs to the passing lamps and found a broken wire that made the running lights work. Put everything back together and it all works. Oh what a feeling to finally get it done. Just thought I would share. Have a great day if you want to.
  14. I told her I was going to post some pics on the sight and she said "don't you dare":confused24: It is actually a leather sleeve glued on around the wire and the braid is glued on to it. If you could get the wire off it would be allot easier. Have a great 4th of July.
  15. I guess I sent the same two pictures. Sorry.
  16. Well I ordered a tank bib from "Talisman Leather products" in Canada. Good people to work with and the product is well made. $105. CDN / $92.95 U.S. for studded. Got it put on but had to remove both cable holders for it to fit proper. After that I just did not care for the cable being put back on the tank with the little rubber holders. I got with my sister and this is what we came up with. I could not have done it without her. She works with leather a little but this was her first attempt at something like this. I have the little rubber holder put on with two sided tape. What ya think? Have a great 4th of JULY.
  17. I have a 04 Venture and at 95 to 98 miles an hour the rev-limiter comes on. You will know when you hit it. It rev's and rev's and rev's and that's it. You get no more RPM's or speed until you shift.
  18. That sounds like a great deal to me.
  19. Cool:cool10:
