You don't hold the CB button in. Just hit it quick. No one else hears you except who ever is riding with you. QUOTE:You have to hit the CB button for just a second to talk and when your done, hit it again to turn it off. You will still have the noise when it is on but not when it is off.

I have the J&M head sets with full face helmets and the noise is bad with ICU set at 13. If it is lower then that we can't hear each other very well. I installed the Mic-Mutes and it stops the noise. You have to hit the CB button for just a second to talk and when your done, hit it again to turn it off. You will still have the noise when it is on but not when it is off. It works great for me.

It's a good feeling when something goes right:cool10: and it was even better you got the wife involved with the project. I hope it lasts for you.

Just info on tires. I just put a New Rear Tire on my bike this past Monday. My Avon had 17,500 miles on it with many more to go but it found a big screw. My front is the smaller Avon with 19,800 miles and still looking good. I have not had any problems with cracking. I like Avons. The second set of Dunlap's I bought, I only got 7000 on the rear and said no more. The center was bald. When I had the rear tire off I did all the maintenance on the rear end and wheel. Grease the splines and all.

It's all part of the fun in searching for that special one you think you want. I think, you made a good choice. Congrats on the new ride.

What an exciting time when looking for a motorcycle. Just take your time and shop and enjoy every lead you get. I see many used Ventures around here in Michigan. Most of them were not taken care of on the out side, so I can imagine that maintenance was not a priority with many. Have fun looking and talking. Good Luck.

I have ridden the 04 to work the last two days here in Michigan. Great! I went to another place of business today and when I went to put my gloves in the saddle bag the hinge came off on one side. That made the lid real loose if ya no what I mean. I put it back down in place and latched it up. Got back to the shop and opened it up to take a look. Had to take the "material" part of the hinge off (4) screws to get to the inside. Sure enough the front screw was completely out and the rear one was real loose. I grabbed the loctite and put them back in. Opened up the other saddle bag and both screws were really loose also. Any way a 10 minute job and all is well. Just thought I would share so maybe you can take the time at home to check them out so it don't happen on the road. Have a great Easter weekend.

If yours was mounted that way and still had a problem, I'd guess it was a manufacturing defect and recommend contacting Wolo to see if they'll replace it. Never hurts to try. That's the way I had it mounted. I have already taken it apart and messed with it so I don't think they would do anything now. The Stabel should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

I purchased a Wolo Horn last summer and installed it with no problem. About two weeks ago I took a ride on a nice day here in Michigan and for the fun of it tooted the horn, but no sound. Got back to the shop and parked it. This past Saturday I started checking the wiring and all was good. Took the horn apart and found a electric motor and points. Cleaned it all up and put it back together and still no toot. Took it back apart and found a plastic impeller down inside that the motor turns. You could not turn the impeller by hand very easy. Cleaned it out in the wash tank, W-D 40 it and it still would not turn freely. Could not get it to work. It is sealed in that area so you can't get to it. I am going to try a Stabel Horn this time and see if it lasts longer. Anyone else had this trouble?

My son runs his bike up there. I have'nt been to see him yet. He is running in the lower 11's and has to wear full leather. You can run without leather if you are above 11.99 seconds. His bike is torn down and doing some mods to increase the H.P. He plans on running in the 10's. He rides a Yamaha 2001 FZ1. Just might make it up there for some fun.
