Maybe a meet and eat would be in order. I am doing fine Randy. Good to hear from you. They may need more than one to run some tests. We will see. I know this Engineer very well. I made some wheel adapters for his old truck one time.

Does anyone have a rear shock off of a 2nd Gen. they would like to send me? I do some work for Gabriel North America Ride Control. They make many shocks for cars, trucks, quads, snowmobiles, you name it. I deal with the head Engineer. I would like to take a shock into him for some research on our problem we have. My shock is still good or I would take it. They have so many different designs that I am thinking they may have one close to the kind we need and maybe able to change the mounting hardware so that we could use it. I would let him know of all the problems that we have with the original and see what he comes up with. I am sure this shock would be cut away for them to see the internal workings. It would be of no use to anyone anymore. Just a thought. Any takers?

I'll call the wife, Wild Hair, and see if she knows where we left our bikes. I sure hope she knows, Black Owl. Wives know everything, Wild Hair!

I just installed a zumo 660 on my 04 Venture. I up graded from a 450. I still have the fairing split but should have it back on tomorrow night. I drilled a 1" hole to the left of the left hand speaker "right hand as you are looking from the front towards the back of the bike" with a wood drill bit to run the cables through. Simple and up high and there is plenty of room. I will send a picture of the hole in a little bit. What I wanted to share was that I took Squidley's advice from his "Installing an Aux line splitter" and went to Radio Shack and bought the cables he mentions in his article. I can now hear the Garmin through the head sets. The install was cheap and easy. Thanks again Squid for a job well done. P.S. The picture did not turn out. Sorry.

This is just an update on my problem. Yesterday I finally split the fairing and disconnected the Mic-Mutes. I had checked all connections and cleaned everything before doing this. The unit was dead. If I used the CB with out the Helmet plugged in, the CB switch would work through the speakers. As soon as I plugged in the helmet the CB switch would go dead. Didn't matter what Helmet I used. None of them worked. With Mic-Mutes disconnected I now have intercom again. The only thing left is to take the tank off to get the telephone wire out. I only have to do this if I want to save the wire. They worked good for three years. It is good to have the fairing split anyway because I bought a Zumo 660 to hook up. The only thing I have to do is connect it to the intercom. To do that I must find some wires. It is always an adventure installing something to a bike. Sometimes I think I should have left everything stock. Life would be more simple but maybe not as much fun.

Yep, same here. We get the radio but no intercom. I don't think we can just disconnect the mic-mutes without alot of removing certain things that we spliced into. I will have to find the directions for the install.

I am out here with the lap top keeping in touch. I have cleaned all contacts with no results. I have the helmet plugged in and kept hitting the talk switch every time I did something. I could always here it. I just kept hitting the switch both front and back and now I have nothing. The loud popping was always there. The bike not running. I checked the fuse again and it is still good. I have a lot of money tied up into this system including the mic-mute to just say forget it. The only thing left is to get inside the little mic-mute box that is by the battery. Thanks for your in put ediddy.

I have a 04 Venture. I have had mic-mutes for three years now. Has been working great. Yesterday the wife and I went for a short ride. Right off the bat the communication was bad. A lot of noise and terrible clicking when we hit the talk buttons. One LOUD click when either button is pushed to talk and two LOUD clicks when you turn it off. It is really bad. Not fun at all. I have the driver and passenger seats off and have checked all connections. Any ideas?

Should it stay? NO:)

That's a good one.

I am very happy with my BlackBerry with AT&T. It even gives traffic warnings and talks you through your route. Never tried any other so can't compare.

Just wanted ya ta know I put dat tire I bought from you at M.D. on yesterday. I figured I had better do it before I go on Vacation in two weeks in the U.P. I had 21,294 miles on that Avon Viper without any cracks. I am happy with these tires. I took the wheel off and then ran it up to the dealer and had it mounted and balanced for $20. I waited for only 20 minutes and back home I went. Thanks for the good deal Larry. Hope you and Joyce are doing great.

I can give you some therapy that helped mine out. You can do this at home. Take magazine paper and wad it up with the bad arm in a tight ball and throw it in a basket. Do this twenty times. Do not use the good arm to help. Take your thumb on your good arm and find the sore spot in your forearm on bad arm. Make it hurt by pushing down in the sore area. When your done with those two things. Take a Dixie cup and put it in the freezer. Do this ahead of time so it will be froze when you need it:whistling: Take the cup that is now froze and rub it in a circle around your elbow. You can peel back the cup when the ice melts so you keep the ice on your arm. You must keep it moving. You will go through stages with the ice. First just cold feeling, then burning, then numbness. It will go numb and that is what you want. The burning is the worst part but it will help. Good luck and hope you try it cause it will help.

Good that your ok and hope all goes well in getting everything taken care of.

It sounds like tennis elbow. I had to go to Physical Therapy for six weeks. I could not lift a hammer at work. Now it is ok. I never played tennis. It is just what they call it.

Good for you Dennis, A few of the guys must have hemorrhoid problems bothering them today with some of the responses. Maybe they should go sit in a bank and cool off. If ya want it and can afford it have at it.

I had some clothes get caught in mine one time. If this is the case you are not pushing the button down far enough to release it. Check your other latch and really pay attention how far it goes in when you push it down. Now try the stuck one and see if it goes in as far. If it doesn't get a dowel rod and push down the button real hard and when it goes down as far as the other one pull up on the lid at the same time and it should open. The dowel rod will give you some extra leverage. You still may need some extra hands. Hope it works for you.

We know who is going to be dreaming for the next couple of weeks. :draming:Wish I were back home riding two up. Those two weeks are going to be long for all of us. Wondering what's going to happen next.
