Here is the plug/ connection in question. What is it? Bike runs fine if I hold it tight.

Good news but.............................. Okay, carb is unstuck. I opened the drain screw and fuel is coming out nicely now. Bike seems to be running well again but it will miss from time to time. I will check the plugs again. If its running too rich is there a way i can lean her out a bit? Also, There is a little rubber square (will take a pic) that sits to the right of the fuse panel ( i did upgrade the fuse panel using skydocs kit ). I do remember this having a slight issue but just now thought of it. Inside are 2 glass fuses, one is a spare. I do remember having to hold it tightly for the bike to stay running or start properly and then forgot about it. Could this be causing the missing? just a thought. Anyway, no fuel leaking from overflow and cylinder is hot. Will keep you updated. I still think something is up with that glass fuse.

Thanks Puc, that info helped a bunch. Will attempt soon. I do want to back up and explain exactly how this all took place. As everyone saw and knew, the bike ran great for a while. One afternoon while placing the side cover back on, I noticed a small gas drip from underneath one carb. It was difficult to locate exactly where the leak was coming from but was a very slight drip from the brass screw/plug at bottom of carb bowl. The next issue was the bike would not start , so i checked the plugs with most of them being fouled. I cleaned the plugs and she started just fine. The next day i fired her up and a large amount of fuel was coming from one of the overflow tubes. I tapped on the suspect carb and then had to wait the next day to get back and see what was going on. I fired her up again and no more leaking fuel but I then removed the drain screw from the suspect carb and no fuel came out. This is where i am now, the engine runs but only on what appears to be 3 cylinders. I am going to try Pucs method which some of you suggested. I did try at first to squirt gas into the drain hole not knowing i can go through the drain hose. Thanks to Pucs video I am now aware i can go that route. I did some thinking on all of this and do not suspect the tank, as i de-rusted it pretty well. I do remember that i forgot to change out the main original fuel line going from the pump to the carb, which i did place a new inline filter in. Maybe that hose is breaking down. the hose from the petcock to fuel pump is new. thanks again for your help and i will keep you updated.

Bought a turkey blaster and it did not work. Most of the gas ended up on the ground, don't think the end of blaster fitted neatly into drain hole. Is there any other entry i could use to get gas through the carb to free it up and flush out whatever is causing the problem?

Well, i removed the drain screw on carb i suspect has a sticking valve and no gas came out. Still have to buy a turkey blaster and squirt some gas in there. I sure do hope these carbs aren't going to be finicky!!

Thanks for the advice. Will try turkey blaster technique. Also, do I leave the carbs filled with gas for the winter or do I need to drain them? The gas is treated with Stabil.

Well, I fired up the bike today and I have fuel leaking from one of the overflow tubes!! I spent $800 on the carb rebuild! I have contacted my carb guy and waiting for reply. I ran the carbs dry for now and will mess with it this weekend. thoughts?

Okay, i installed new speakers. Went with Polk weatherproof around $50. I still need to install antenna, geesh , totally forgot!

Thank you Cowpuc for nominating me for an exceptional member award. I really do appreciate you and many others on this forum that helped me restore this beautiful bike. Now, I'm not anywhere near the caliber of restoration as johnnycyclone but she is running again! For years I would look at this bike online and many times wished that I owned one and now I do. This is a keeper for sure and with that being said, this summer we are hitting the road to travel this beautiful country. Now, I do still have a few issues to tweak: Polk speakers to replace oem, new boost sensor line with valve, paint touchup and windshield buff. That should do it. will keep you posted.

No, this line is connected to the boost sensor and intake boot. Here is a video of the bike almost complete. I state in the video that this will be the last video, however, i am going to put together a final final from beginning to end, so wait for that. Took her for a spin and she runs well with all the bags and stuff on !!

I spent 3 weekends fixing all the plastics which are now officially done. Here is where I am. Still have to get some touch up paint.

I checked oil level and it's good, no change. I think could just be a stuck float, anyway, I turned off petcock and ran the carbs dry while tapping on float covers. I did check #2 plug and it was fouled. Will have to tweak air/ fuel mixture a bit. Thanks for your help. Bike will be fine. I'm almost done with rebuilding the plastics and then I'm going to make a restoration video of entire project. Should be in the next few weeks. I ordered the parts for booster sensor line.

What's strange, is last week I topped off the gas tank and have not ridden the bike. Yesterday, I smelled gas and opened the gas cap, looked inside and the level had dropped. I have kept the fuel petcock open while bike sat. I went ahead and closed the petcock and topped off. Today I checked the gas level and it has not changed. Strange!

I don't have the stock TCI, instead I believe my current TCI is yellow label off of a Vmax. I guess I will go ahead and get a restrictor, new hose and connect to boost sensor and #2 intake port. Will that work?

What is this little tube. Looks like one end goes to a sensor and other end fits into carb joint. I removed the end connected to joint since it was leaking gas. I will have to find a small nipple fitting to make it fit right.

Shoot!! Saddlebag locks do not work!! uuuuuuuuuurgh!! Will have to mount permanently or try a quick release of sorts.

I've restored the saddlebags. She's strong as new now but, the PO did away with the temporary mounts and handle. I think i want to go back to original mounts as one can then remove the bags if needed to. I have all the hardware for that. Do the bags stay put with factory mounts? Thoughts? thanks

These plastics are in worse shape tha previously thought! Anyway, just a few more pieces to fix. If you ever have to mend the plastics, one has to use ABS glue and cleaner. Here are a few pics. Getting closer. I'm using a rubbing compound to bring out the original colour .

My ABS black glue came in. Time to start fixing cracks in plastic and also reinforce with ABS sheets. Next week or two I will post my final video once she is all put together. Man, what a journey !!
