  1. Post on http://www.concours.org if you don't get a good response. I've not seen any references to a 2007. Even in the forum categories over there. Not that this would be one of the replacement bikes you are thinking about
  2. James, I met a guy this last weekend at the BMW (sport touring) meeting I was at in Eureka Springs. Some local Tulsa guys know these folks who were from PA. They traveled Central America for a month. He had lots of tips...just got back. Send me an email if interested and I will forward and get their contact information and you can have a conversation with him and his wife. There are some key things to avoid and he had a list. He did love it though and wants to go back. He took his wing but is buying a BMW GS to go next time. Mostly border stuff -- don't stop anywhere near border towns and stay in groups, avoid one of the states in revolution at the moment, among others. Mike
  3. I went from an 03 RSV to an 05 RSTD. The wife very rarely rides with me. She did like the RSV much more. I like the RSTD much more cause she is never there and it's more flexible and weight is distributed more. Buy the RSV for 2-up.
  4. I've looked at all of them that are on the market right now -- at least all I could find. I'm not really satisfied with any of them. They need to support all the stuff an Autocom does but do it wirelessly and let you use your own earbuds. Most are mono but very few stereo -- J&M is stereo but I don't like the config or the price. I found that you can find a Cardo Scala Rider Teamset for about $165.00 on the internet. That will work okay for now and I won't have too much invested until these things mature a little bit more.
  5. Sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
  6. I bought a really nice leather 3rd gen holder that hangs off your belt. I've never had a skip or shutdown. I run the headphone wire down my shirt. I don't see the one that I bought out there anymore. You may find something you like. http://www.xtrememac.com/index.php
  7. I don't think it's an issue for most. These motors do have some straight cut gear whine. The clutch whine on mine isn't too noticeable and then I wear ear phones while listening to my ipod and have bubs. When I run around without the windshield it's very diminished. I think much of it is the "acoustics" with the shield and the lower cowling resonating the sound back.
  8. I always wondered after I had my 03 RSV if electical grease from Radio Shack would have helped. Anyone have any luck with that ?
  9. I found curve 3 and 7250 outstanding with stock pipes and filters. I found I lost some with BUBs and filters -- got it back going to curve 4.
  10. Mine did it with the bridgeslides. Throw them away as stated ... wear them out, run through some glass, something ... I actually rode mine until 6,500 miles and I had a trip planned -- seemed like a good excuse.
  11. I put the same ones that I put on my 03 RSV on my 05 RSTD. Not the same same, but the same if you know what I mean...same but different set.
  12. You might check the two Royal Star forums on Delphi. I know I've seen it over there too. http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=vrider&msg=2312.20
  13. Sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  14. Keep your RPMs up. Sounds almost as though you are lugging a bit. If you're looking to accelerate at 62 fairly quickly you should downshift. 3rd is really fun. I have a tach and run it up to 7,000 in third gear and you are moving on -- it's pretty smooth. Seriously though, going down to 4th should help.
  15. Don't miss. Looks like a real competitor to the I-Pod. http://www.zunescene.com/
  16. I too have had many repeat songs before they should have been repeated on XM. I think my IPOD does a better job of not repeating songs. In June I changed my XM account to invoice from credit card as I was giving it another 3 months. Well, about 9/5 I get a charge on my card for the next three months for the three radios I have. It was $80.79 cents. I called and explained that I had been charged and should have been invoiced...to please refund the money on my credit card and just to go ahead and cancel my account. They could see that the account had "invoice" and didn't know why my card had been charged. Of course this took someone in India as well as the USA. So, almost a week later nothing is taken off my cc account so I call back. Now they haven't done anything and they are willing to refund $78 and some change. Seems like some days have gone by and they need to get paid. I said no-way. You were not authorized to charge the card. They said okay, sorry sir we will refund the $80.79 cents. Two more days go by and I call them again and they say they "refunded" the money in the form of a credit to my account. It was for $70.xx and some change. I say, NO WAY. So they let me talk to someone more important in billing and they say "TOUGH CRAP" we will send you a check for $70.xx and some change. I tell them what they are doing is illegal and all that biz. The catch is that the account now showed someone elses address and another radio ID. Still had my name and email address and phone number. I still had access to the account using my password. The check is being sent to me at some address in Florida. Think if you sell your radio in a garage sale -- you'll have someone accessing whatever residual info is on your account. They said once a radio is on an account it will be put back on the same account if possible -- and they don't scrub the account. I would say they either have some huge application issues and people problems or just maybe they like it that way. I relay all this to my credit card company and they are denying the charge -- wasn't without arguing and threatening though. Lot's of luck if you go with XM. Whatever you do don't give them your cc number.
  17. I bought an 03 RSV and sold it. When I saw what a mistake that was and that the wife hardly ever rode with me, I went with the 05 RSTD. Yes, very noticeable GOOD difference. Might be close just taking the trunk off of an RSV. All I can say is
