Low pressure tire pumps
Mariner Fan replied to johnny-canuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use my bicycle pump. Those slide pumps are really overpriced for what they are. http://www.pricepoint.com/images/styleImages/D_245%20TOPJB1.gif -
My GS took me through my 20's. Dang my first wife for talking me into selling it! Great bike.
-
Cougar, you will have to give me some info on the bluetooth feature! I'm an XM subscriber and love it. So, I'll buy the super expensive antenna for the bike. I figure we can use the GPS in the car when we travel. Geez, my wife is the worst for reading maps. This should save a few missed exits...

Great on you Acadieman, I'm probably 10 years out but I'm thinking about it!!!!

Oh yea, the antenna that Amazon matches up with the Zumo 550 is model number 010-00423-02. Like I said, not sure if there is a difference or not but I thought I would pass this on.
-
I'm pretty much thinking that 200 bucks is the going price for an antenna. I was confused because Amazon showed three different versions of the GXM 30 antenna. Not sure if they are all the same or if there are differences. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/002-4312449-1572821?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=GXM+30&x=19&y=24]Amazon.com: GXM 30[/ame] Cougar, if you know of a good deal on these, please let us know. Looks like late 70's early 80's to me. I had a 79 Suzuki GS1000. Man, that was a good bike....

I'm not buying from them. One of the cool things about VentureRider is that we can bounce ideas off each other. If not for you guys, I probably would have tried out CameraAddict (Maybe). Like I said, I'm probably going to buy the Zumo from buydig and the XM antenna from Amazon. Your right about the $629.00 price. Seems to be the going rate. So, makes you wonder about mark up on stuff these days!

Tim, The Manufacturing part number for the Zumo 550 at CameraAddict is the same as the one offered by Amazon. 010-00567-00. I wonder if the person you talked to was mistaken? http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?id=3613090 [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H2W4E6/ref=s9img_3-rfc_g1_subs_c2_38_37_17_8?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1VCJGAQDWF6WGK6Y3XQ0&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240301&pf_rd_i=507846]Amazon.com: Garmin Zumo 550 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Motorcycle Navigator: Electronics[/ame]

I've been looking at a Zumo as well. Glad I looked at this thread since the Camera-addict price ($544.00) is by far the best. I was concerned about them since it was so much cheaper. So far, I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on the buydig unit. $638.97 with free shipping. I'll probably get the XM antenna from Amazon unless I find something better - $193.08 + $6.09 shipping. $199.17

That bike looks to be in great condition! Yea, I was going to make a crack about the seat but you guys beat me to it! Brad, great that you have another steed to ride. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys on a Meet and Eat. Bob

Pretty bike! Enjoy your new ride....

I'm going to Mazatlan Mexico next week. I'll order the zumo after that so that I'm home when it arrives. Do you guys hook it to switched power? I also assume you can plug it in to the Aux port to use it through the speakers?
-
Well I took the bike out for a ride today. The old Delphi Roady2 has been giving me fits and the fact that it isn't waterproof is bugging me. I decided to get a Zumo 550 based on the great reviews you guys have reported. So, I think I'll get one from buydig.com. Alot of you guys have had good results from this outfit. Price is really good too! So, it has a mount for the bike and for the car (good so I can use it in my wife's car). What else do I need? I want the XM option so I need an antenna? Do I need to buy anything for the MP3 media? Thanks, Bob
-
Your right about the V-Stars. I bought an 1100 custom. At 6'3" I realized quickly that I had a bike that was way too small for me.
-
I don't have a headset for my bike yet. Not sure if I want a cord hanging off my helmet. Maybe someday.
-
I'm curious, is there such a thing for a motorcycle? Seems like a great idea but I can't recall ever seeing a seat that is adjustable.
-
My 07 Midnight has the pillow top seats. I've seen the 08 model. Exactly the same as usual but the Black Cherry/Raven color is sweet!

Well said....

Man, my list is long Full instrumentation, Updated Stereo ---XM, MP3 Quiet transmission Passing light upgrade without the hassles. Should be pre-wired for easy installation. Actually, the add on accessories should be better made. Why do we have to modify the saddlebag guards to make them right? Reinforce the crash bars Fuel injection!!!! Improve the brakes Add spaces on the fuse block for add on accessories Improve the charging system to allow for add ons. Most important....keep the layout intact. Great looking bike and very comfortable. Just upgrade it and you will sell a million of them.

That's a funny one alright. If any of you guys get a chance to ride through the Columbia River Gorge you will see hundreds of those guys out there flying around. Well, they don't have any planes picking them up...

You guys have it right... Here is an interesting article for your entertainment on how to paint a car on the cheap. http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html
