Dude, I'm your next door neighbor! I live in Alexandria, just 15 miles West of you. I'm going on a ride on Saturday if the weather holds. We plan to go to Gene's hotdog stand for dogs and rootbeer at noon then go over to Noblesville Honda for their open house. Give me a buzz if you want to join me. Bob

Looked like a fun time! How was the turnout?

Good thing for the warranty. I know the perfect way to clean the surface rust from the tank but I'd make Yamaha do it.

The Pacifier habit! That is where I'm at. I literally stepped outside 3 or 4 times today and stood around. Now this was my smoking time. Well, I didn't but seem to have an urge to light up when things get tough at work.
-
Hope you guys don't mind me bringing up an old thread..... I'm digging this one up because I've finally quit smoking. The weird thing is that I didn't have any physical troubles stopping. I had a few moments where I wanted a smoke while on vacation but it passed. Now that I'm back to work, the urge is greater. You see, I only smoked at work. My wife never has seen a cigarette in my hand. I've done this for many years. I have some nicotine gum but I think it has to do with habits. If things get tough I have the urge to go outside to light one up. Hopefully, I'll stop this habit. Two weeks so far.

Weather was nice today in Indiana. Mid 60's and over cast. I just got back home from vacation so I had to spend the day mowing the lawn. Geez, what a pain!
-
Rob, Congratulations on your new ride! Hope you can work out the warranty thing at least to have the bike checked out on Yamaha.

I'm 6'3" and the only bike that felt right for me is the Venture. I have no regrets with it. Figure I'll ride it for the next 5 years and then see if what's out there, or I might just keep this one till I can't ride anymore.

Tank sticker?

Man, that sucks. Hope you get your bike back on the road soon.

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd say hola from Mazatlan. We have been here since last Wednesday and aren't going back to Indiana until Saturday. Needless to say, I should get a bit of color in this pasty white skin! Having the bike down here would have been cool as heck. Now you have to get used to the way folks drive, but I believe they aren't too bad. They aren't distracted by cell phones and such. Well back to the beach. It's a routine. Lay around in the sun, read a book, drink alot of water then on to the stronger stuff. Rinse, repeat.... See ya soon! This is what I use. It's a Creative MuVo V100. It only has 1 gig of storage but is cheap as heck to buy. I just used the arm band and strapped it around the break reservoir. I used a cord to connect it to the aux port in the cassette. Really easy. http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=215&product=15441 Looks like you can get them for about 20 to 30 bucks on E-Bay.

I'm guessing they are guessing which door is to the Mens room?

I'd be glad to ride up but I'm on vacation and will not be back until the 21st. If you guys are planning something after that let me know.. Bob

You will need some soft straps. These are short straps with loops on both ends. Loop the straps around the lower section of the triple tree. Then attach a good tie down strap to the end of the soft strap. I'm sure some of the other guys can explain it better and hopefully provide pictures. Bob

I was wondering the same thing. Looks like they circled the hole.

Ok, since I'm a Noob, I'll ask. Maintenance day? A chance to work on the bikes? An opportunity for a bunch of Venture riders to get together? Is food involved?

I'm not sure if there are any rules for test riding bikes in Indiana. It's certainly a risk for a bike shop to let people ride them first. I bought my bike at Max Pitts. The Midnight was on display in the front and I mentioned that I was very interested in it. They offered to let me test ride one of the two used Ventures that they had and I was good with that. After the ride I told them that I wanted the new Midnight and they had to take it in the back to prep it. So, I don't think the new bike was ready to ride until someone actually bought it.

Great weather in Indiana. Rode over to Bummer's house so we could exchange guardian bells. So I only rode about 60 miles each way but it was really nice to get out there.
-
Sam, Yea, a lot of guys have put them on. Freebird has posted a wiring diagram. I'll try to find it.

:rotf:I wear a size 7 3/4 fitted hat. I think that qualifies as a "bucket head".....

I tried that the other day and dropped my bike. I think I was going 1.235 mph.....
