  1. Yea, it's kind of a rip. They did manage to find all the loose bolts that the factory didn't bother to tighten down.
  2. They have one in the local Yamaha shop in Anderson. Beautiful bike!
  3. Wow, I like it! Cindy, you must be a computer wiz!
  4. Is there a certain amount of miles that people have noticed the shock going out?
  5. Oh yea, While I was waiting for Sean to take the test I ran into another Venture Rider. He was a newby and had just bought the bike. I know I should have gotten his name but I didn't .
  6. I woke up today with a call from my friend Sean. He wanted to take the physical test for his motorcycle endorsement and asked if I'd go along. I said sure, but there was another reason that I wanted to ride. This was the first time that Ruth joined me for a ride. I was kinda nervous but she proved to be a great co-rider. We rode to the testing area in Elwood Indiana and ended up running into a friend of ours. He was there to take the test as well. John has been riding bikes since the early 70's but has never held an endorsement. I guess he has to get one now that he owns a bike that has to be insured. You guys that did the Warsaw ride will remember Sean and John. We all stood around and chatted and saw an amazing thing. A dude on a Suzuki Boulevard did the drill were you accelerate then hit the brakes in a specified spot. He hit the brakes alright and locked them up falling to his right. His head hit the pavement and the bike slid out from under him. Everything got quiet and I ran over to see if he was ok. He was not hurt but man, talk about embarrassing. Wiping out with 20 bikers watching you doing a straight line stop. After the show, we rode to Max Pitts Yamaha and checked out the bikes. Sean is thinking about a Venture but is concerned that it's too much bike for him. I'm really hoping that he goes for it and joins us here in Ventureriders! Bob
  7. I see the pictures KBay!
  8. Get used to it. Seems all the accessories are a pain to install. We have ways to defeat that though.
  9. She's a beauty. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
  10. What color? Silver or Dark Red?
  11. The nice thing about Touring bikes is the differences. I'm most comfortable on the Venture but I certainly like and respect the Wing and Ultra's. Since they are all Touring rigs we can all ride together without causing anyone distress. I rode with some cruiser guys and it was difficult because they needed to ride really slow. My Venture wanted to gallop!
  12. Richard, What's it like riding a Wing compared to a Venture? Must be a bit of an adjustment.
  13. Man Brad, Any kind of wobble must be hair raising for you after the accident. Hope you figure it out.
  14. Awesome! Take a picture of your new steed for us! Congratulations Larry.
  15. Where are you finding these for $500?
  16. John, that is great news indeed!
  17. Question, Is the Ohio Turnpike toll-road the kind where you enter then pay at the exit or is it like Chicago where you have to stop every 5 miles or so and pay the toll?
  18. Mine does that same thing. I doubt there is a perfect place to mount the Sat. antenna that will not get blocked once in awhile. If it's too bad, I just switch over to regular radio. http://buzznet-88.vo.llnwd.net/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/XM_Radio_006--large-msg-121087927075.jpg I believe the antenna is getting blocked by the windshield and me. On my truck, it's mounted on the roof and I do not have these kind of issues unless I'm in town and I get blocked by a building. So, short of attaching a pole on the bike and mounting the antenna up in the air I have to put up with the occasional "no signal".
  19. Download 5630 Upload 947 I have no idea what that means.
  20. Looking good! They really dress up the front of the bike.
  21. SealSkinz are the best I've found for rain gloves. http://www.danalco.com/
  22. I just ordered one from South Seattle Sports Plaza yesterday! Total bill was.... $113.21 + $16.76 = $129.97 Not sure if you could do any better than that for a factory rack.
  23. Marriage number two for me. Ruth and I have been married for 16 years now. The first one? I consider that a mulligan.
  24. It just so happens that I have a Roady 2 that I'm not using anymore. If anyone wants it I'll give it to you for the cost of shipping, or better yet save that money if your going to Maintenance day.
  25. Yes, when it comes down to it, there isn't a better bike for a tall guy than a Venture. Yea, I hate the whine but I'm comfortable and I can always turn up the radio!
