It's too bad that he bought into all the hype. Funny how some folks don't understand that motorcycles are meant to be ridden. It's the adventure of the ride, not so much what you ride that's important.

Wow, Squidley is good. How did he get a helicopter escort? Was Leadwolf riding on a second gen? Almost looks that way from the pictures.

loudest cheapest slip on pipes
Mariner Fan replied to BLUERIDGEBORN's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Heck, just take a drill to the pipes. That's pretty cheap. -
Yea, I'm just a bitter Jose because I want my new windshield so bad. Every time I get on the freeway and my head is buffeting like no tomorrow I think I can't get the Clearview soon enough.

I'm still waiting for mine..... Obviously they have bought into the Lean Manufacturing Principals.

Jack for Venture
Mariner Fan replied to Ken Parker's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just use the cheap-o 60 dollar Craftsman motorcycle jack. It does not clear all the junk under the bike so I used some cut down 2x4 blocks on the corners. It's a pain to do it this way so I plan to buy the adapter from Carbon one. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/69/cat/7 Actually, I've been saying I need to get this adapter for awhile. I'm going to quit talking about it and order one today! -
Boy, those should turn night into day!

I was reading this and trying to figure out why you needed it. Do you have a separate XM radio and a Garmin? Glad it's working for you. Nice to see some products live up to their claims.

How far is the trunk supposed to open?
Mariner Fan replied to Kidh2's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Ok I tried this and it worked! I've been suffering with the lid that wouldn't open all the way since the day I bought the bike. Now the lid opens up nicely. -
There it is. Nice!

So what kind is it?

I want to retire at Sun River Oregon. From what I've heard, Tennessee is a great place to retire.

Is there a picture there Bronson? I don't see it.

Steve, When we meet up on Friday I want you to look at the trunk lid bracket on my bike. I already have the cover off. I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. -

From the day I bought my bike my trunk lid never opened so far that it would rest on the back seat. I've been wondering about this as well. -
Google translate works great for articles like this. http://www.google.com/translate_t?sl=es&tl=en I went through the rather lengthy story and didn't see anything about touring bikes until page 706 and all it talked about was the fact that the Yamaha V-4 was on the tourers. Didn't spend a ton of time looking so I might have missed it.

That's the best couple of stories I've heard in a long time! :rotf::rotf:
