Brad, Are you planning on riding the bike down to NC?
-
Man, it looks like the road in your pictures were covered with black ice!
-
I really want ABS for my next bike. Hopefully, it will be a third gen. Venture.

I know some of you guys put in some crazy miles this year. I got in just over 9,000 so far, but the season is coming to an end. Hope to bump that number up significantly for next year!

I'm still riding every day. It's a crap shoot here in Indiana with the weather. Never know, I could ride all the way to December or could be shut down tomorrow.
-
Good choice! I'm going to either use the Dunlops or the Avons when its time to change my tires.
-
Congratulations!

Man, you don't know how many times I've thought of changing my handle. I'm still a fan of the Seattle Mariners but damn....worst team in baseball this year.

For me, the only thing that get's really cold is my hands. My gear works very well in the cold except my gloves. Might have to look into the heated type because I don't think they make a glove that will keep your hands warm on a bike.

Sherry, thanks for the update. I think the gentleman that bought the bike and trailer got a heck of a deal. You shouldn't second guess yourself about wanting Tom to ride your bike to save gas. It probably wouldn't have mattered in the accident. Take care of yourself and keep posting. We wish you the best, and will continue to keep you in our hearts and prayers. Bob

Ok, one time in Washington State I rode over a pass and it was snowing. I had to keep my tires in the tracks laid down by the car in front of me. Talk about puckering a guy up! Back then, I didn't own chaps or even know what motorcycle gear was. My Suzuki 1000 had a fairing in front but I was never so cold in my life. It was the kind of cold that went down to the bones! Once I got over the pass I pulled into a gas station. My legs were so cold that I couldn't even move and I just dropped the bike where I stopped. It was kinda like those old "Laugh In" shows where Arte Johnson would be on the little tricycle and flop over. I just crawled out from under the bike, picked it up and went inside to warm up.

I don't know what the coldest temperature I've ridden in, but it was 31 degrees this morning when I rode to work. I usually don't try to ride in any colder weather than that because I'm concerned about ice on the road.

Clearview warning

Mine only had one hole and the rest slots. Interesting that the design changed. Mine was purchased this year. -
Outstanding! I'm proud to be part of this group. Well done!
-
Cool. Looking forward to seeing it.

That's interesting. My XXL shield was purchased this year and it only had one hole with the rest slots. I'm glad they addressed the problem and will have a better design in the future.

Well 1310 miles was certainly a good test! I'm convinced that the mod is money well spent. The only thing I was wondering about was the passenger seat since it is flat. I'll be sending mine in soon for the modification. Thanks Kevin!

I was just about to call you to see what's up! Glad to see you posting here again. Guess you can be thankful that you have a good job even if they are working the heck out of you. Bob

Sorry to hear about this Dan. We lost both our dogs last year and they were 14 years old. One was a German Shepard like Max and the other was a Weimerauner. I got elected to do the "duty" and take them to the Vet. Not ashamed to say I shed tears for both of them. Hang in there. Bob

Cruise Falling Out

I've had that happen but it was intermittent at best. Seems to be working well now. -
I'm not going to comment on the build quality till I see one in person. The thing that jumps out to me is the comment on the seating position. If Kawasaki has built the bike with the same dimensions as the old Harley Ultra then it's too cramped for taller riders. I got that impression from the pictures I've seen of people riding the bike. It's pretty hard to build a motorcycle that will fit the majority of riders out there. Short wheelbases and low seats are nice for shorter folks. That's why I like the Venture so much. It's the only one that I've sat on that allows me to stretch my long legs out.
-
I've been there. On top of that both of my boys managed to get into accidents in the first year of driving. That's nice.
-
Yea, I've never tested it. Once I hit reserve, I'm looking for gas.

Gary, it's hard to believe that a year has passed. I know this must be hard as hell for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
