calling all 2009 rally committee members.
Mariner Fan replied to Snarley Bill's topic in Watering Hole
Boy, you guys are up early! -
The funny thing is that alot of "professional" jobs are done poorly. We can see all the joints in our ceilings because the drywall guys didn't take the time to do the job right. Alot of these guys slap the mud on and then texture over it leaving an indentation where the joint is.

Drywall is pretty easy to fix as long it hasn't gotten wet and ruined. The main thing is to figure out why this is happening. Could be a poor installation or an underlying condition that needs attention. Every house seems to have cracks in the wall as it settles. Our house is 10 years old and we can see them (actually, Ruth is the one who spots them). I'll fix those before we paint again. Give me a call if you need help.

I might have to do that too since my helmet is covered with scratches.

"jet heater" Kerosene vs. Diesel, any fuel chemists?
Mariner Fan replied to OutKast's topic in Watering Hole
We have space heaters at work to help keep the guys warm. It says it's dual fuels (Kerosene or Jet fuel). Someone filled one up with diesel and it wouldn't stay running. Maintenance cleaned it out and fixed it. As soon as they put it back in service, someone filled it with diesel again. Yea, they are mad... -
Wish I could help you there. I had a 70 Malibu back in high school. Really liked that car.

Remember when you could pick up a car like that for about 800 bucks?

One of my favorites was "Next Friday". It's one of those movies where me and my son Jared were laughing our asses off and Ruth just looked at us like we were crazy.

How did I miss this one?

I subscribe to Roadrunner as well. Seems to be the best suited to my interests. I swear that they must be getting some kind of kickback from Victory Motorcycles since every issue has an article about them. Other than that, I like it alot.

Wow, compared to you guys, it's warm here! Last I looked, it was -9 degrees...

Nice! It's going to be awhile before we get nice weather here in Indiana.

Haha, we got a similar set up. Pristine condition from lack of use.

Note that there isn't a woman to been seen in the video. Part 2 will be when the wife gets home...

Normally, I'd scoff at a Southerner talking about long handles but I know you've been to South Dakota.

Driver's back rest
Mariner Fan replied to Bluesman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Note the ....... I've always felt the backrests pushed me too far forward. After a few long rides, I've reconsidered my thoughts. Maybe a backrest is a good thing! -
Very nice! I'm jealous...

Geez, you learn something new every day. I never have even looked at our car cradle since we got the Zumo. I didn't know it had a jack for XM and an output jack for the car stereo. Our car has XM already so I never bothered to look.

Hey Javier, You are asking a loaded question. It depends on your ability as a bike rider and your physical condition. My ride limit right now is around 400 miles before I'm beat. Next year might be better since I'm modifying the bike and am getting better at long distance traveling . You will need water. Make sure you have a way to hold a water bottle. If you get tired, stop at a rest stop and relax a bit. You don't want to get so tired that you make a mistake on the interstate.

My 07 does not have the chirp. It does have a whine but I don't even hear it anymore. For me, the size of the bike was the most comfortable for me. It's a big machine and works well for tall guys.

I have it Don. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/Garmin_008--large-msg-122088667708.jpg Performance is top notch. The reception used to cut out on the Delphi unit that I used before but not on this Garmin. Trouble is, that it plugs into the cradle and that stays with the bike. I use the car adaptor when I use it in the car (natch!). http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/Garmin_005--large-msg-122088668443.jpg
