  1. Ruthy and I have been to PV a couple of times. Had a fantastic time. Have fun!
  2. :crackup::crackup:
  3. The only time that I had a bit of trouble with my Zumo is when I washed it at the car wash. Seems I would loose one side of the speaker sound from time to time. I pulled the plugs and greased them and everything was good again. Now I put a bag over it when I wash the bike.
  4. I was thinking the same thing!
  5. I change mine around 5000 miles. The clutch tells me when it's time.
  6. The current Venture is the only bike that I feel comfortable on. Well, I think the Victory Vision is pretty long and comfortable as well but it looks like crap!
  7. I just use Amazon.
  8. I'm pretty sure they just disappear.
  9. Funny, I was just listening to my MP3 and realized that all the songs that I listen to are from the 60's - 70's! Good riding songs? Too many to list. I'll be bringing my laptop along to Maintenance Day. I believe I have around 3000 song on it and would be happy to share.
  10. Mine looks about the same as Big Bears http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/004--large-msg-127290660424.jpg http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/003--large-msg-127290652654.jpg http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/006--large-msg-127290662963.jpg
  11. The head gasket deal was to just re-torq the bolts. My local dealer did that and then didn't tighten the valve covers. I ended up with an oil leak there.
  12. I'm glad you showed this. Always good to be reminded of all the idiots out there!
  13. Hey Kyle, welcome to VentureRiders! I live in Alexandria which is by Muncie and ride through Richmond all the time. Hope to run into you some time. Bob
  14. After reading your post Tombo I checked the stats on the new Upgraded Ultra's. Sounds like they stretched the frame a bit and that would definitely help with the taller riders. That was really the deal breaker for me buying one back in '07. I've got my Venture dialed in just perfect and I'm going to keep riding it at least until the warranty is done. After that I'll decide whether to keep this bike or buy a new one. I have a feeling this generation of Venture is at the end of its run. It will be interesting to see what Yamaha comes up with for their new Touring bike. Those new Harley's are pretty sweet!
  15. I always go back to the ergonomics on the Venture. Fit's tall guys to a "T". I still look at those Ultra Classics and think how nice they are. Trouble is, when I sit on them I remember the cramped up feeling I got and why I didn't buy one in the first place.
  16. Most guys give up on the bike when they have kids. I'll bet you will have a bike again when they grow up. Nice car!
  17. Gonna miss having you there Dan! I'll post some pictures.
  18. I have two helmets: A Shoei 3/4 with a headset mounted on it. http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/PROD/shoei-nd/shoeirjplatinumrsolids-nd A Scorpion Half helmet. http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/PROD/scorpionhelmets/exo100solid Both are very good. To be honest, if I'm not planning on using the headset, I use the Scorpion just because it's so darn comfortable.
  19. As I recall, it took a loooong time to get my Clearview shield. It's one of the best things that I have done to my bike. Guess you just have to be patient because the product is really worth the wait.
  20. I was planning on riding up to Fort Wayne and then cutting over. Cincy would be a bit of a detour. Probably have to catch you guys up North depending which way you go.
  21. I used Yamalube synthetic and found it was an immediate improvement in noise and shifting smoothness. Last time I was at the local Yamaha shop I found out that they don't carry Yamalube synthetic anymore (imagine that!). They recommended the Spectro synthetic and even said it was better than Yamalube. Ok, what the heck, I'll give it a try. To be honest, the shifting is now rougher than before. I'm sure that it lubricates fine, but the first to second clunk is driving me nuts. I'll probably drain it and try something else.
  22. I can feel the decal with my hand when I touch it. I don't know how to tell if it was clear coated or not. I'm betting not....
  23. The last time I saw a new O7 Midnight was at the Indy Motorcycle Expo. Unfortunately that was last year. It would be pretty tough to find one now. The new ones are the same as mine with the flame decals. I figure a good hot air gun and you peal those right off.
  24. I saw a new bike with the "flames". They are decals and look like it. Not real impressed. Hopefully, they aren't cleared over so all you have to do is take a heat gun to it and peal them off.
  25. Pretty bike! I'd like one as well.
