    I just hope they don't come out with somthing lookin like the Victory! I agree some updates are in order but I hope they keep the classic styling.

    I know they sell the bottle holder at wal-mart but they dont sell the bottle holder holder:think: That is the part I found at the bike store. Looks and holds a little better than a u bolt.

    It sounds like you are talking about devils elbow. It is north of Florence,Or. Really neat tide pools there. Also close by camping and motels in nearby Yachats. A really neat section of the Oregon coast. Be prepared for cool weather and some headwinds up most of the coast from about Brookings north, normaly the warmer it is inland the cooler, foggier and winder it will be on the coast. Don't let it scare you off tho because it's a beautiful ride! Have fun!!!

    I got the drink holder at the local bike store. They have a holder that attaches to your bar and holds tight. works great! Cost 12 bucks.

    Of course a higher price! Would you expect anything less? I just hope they will fix some of the problems we have now before creating a whole new batch!

    2mike2, I notice your from Spfld. Did you get your bike at cyclesports in salem or at ramsey? I have had problems with both not wanting to do warranty work. Sometimes cottage grove is easier to work with but they have new owners. Cycle sports in Eugene will do warranty work on Yamaha even tho they don't sell em there. C/C in Eugene has greased the rear end on mine and they know the problem. Ask for Kenny if you go there.

    I looked up the 2009 line-up and no venture or rstd. I bet they are going to be back in 2010 with the new V-4. That works out perfect because my 2007 will be wore out by then!!

    I put a Hoppnel 3 pouch on my rstd. I removed the 5 screws across the top of the windshield frame and cut the backing of the bags to fit the screw holes. slid it in place and screwed it back together. It's been working great. If I can ever find my camera (I think one of the kids "browed" it) I'll post some pics.

    I was just on the Star page and saw the new 1649cc fuel injected V-4. Does anybody think these new powerplants will find there way in next years RSTD and Ventures?

    I'd go with the 1300 V-Star. Nice mid-size touring bike.

    I put Baron Bag Slash on my 07 and they sound great and have removable baffels. They sound great with the baffels in...not to loud but a nice V-4 rumble.

    I run 6 in the front and 40 in the rear. seems to handle better in the twisties. I put a progressive fork balance kit to keep em even no matter what the pressure is.

    3.45 a Gallon here, Last weekend I went down the north Calif. coast and paid 4.59 a Gallon in Eureka. Better part of a twenty dollar bill to fill a bike! Now they are putting ethonal in our gas in Ore. They didn't lower the price but your mileage drops big time. Not yet sure what its gonna do to fuel systems or motors.

    I like your idea! However I have the 2 up thing going so I got almost the same setup ( a little smaller bottle) and put it on the left side handlebar. Works like a charm! 12 bucks at a bike shop

    I have the Baron Bag Slash slip-ons on my RSTD and also get a fair amount of popping on decel. Checked for exaust leaks, didn't find any, adjusted the carbs. still popping, next I'm gonna try the blocking the AIS.

    I couldn't stand it any longer, 1st day of spring and rain was forcast for the evening, figured a little rain never hurt much even though it was a little cool so with a smile on my face I was off! You ever try to look over a RSTD windshield when the snow starts sticken to it? It worked untill it started stickin to my glasses! Still waitin on that global warming!

    I put the Baron bag slash slipons on and they sound great! Look good to! I didn't need to rejet, just puttem on and go make noise!!

    If I had the money I'd go. Whats a little money when you get to spend time with friends. Should be a no brainer. Go. Have fun. You'll be glad you did.
