  1. I like the idea, was thinkin 'bout a venture fairing but.....
  2. I've been running 404's and getting 9 - 10 K out of them (rear tire). I keep a close eye on tire pressure and started running nitrogen in the last set. Keeping your pressure up will increase tire life and handling. I use the " penny" test to check the tire tread, If I can see the whole head I'm gettin new tires:cool10:
  3. 23 degrees last winter on a toy run, it was clod but worth it!
  4. NICE LOOKIN RIDE!! Enjoy!!
  5. I've seen some hippies running around on vespa's wearing them
  6. I drilled out the ends of my grips and put the stock weights back on. Turned out pretty good!
  7. I've been running Dunlops. I don't get outstanding milage out of them but they perform well. I just put a set on last week and decided to try nitrogen. Supposed to improve the life of the tire and the pressure will stay the same no matter what the temp. is. Also holds pressure longer without having to 'top off' with air. Time will tell:smile5:
  8. I'm going to hafta consider one, I just hope it has the same whine!
  9. I think I likes it! Wont be in the market till '10 so we'll see what star does now that they may have some direct competiton:thumbsup2:
  10. I have them on my 07 and have the same thing. even synchronized the carbs and plugged the ais. The head wrench at the stealership checked the system for air leaks and all was good. He also said he didn't think it would cause any problems as it's not backfireing. I've had them on for a year and put about 20k on them with no adverse affects. And, yea they do sound good!
  11. Nice bike! I've been lookin at the 800 or 1200 adventure bikes. Hope you enjoy it!
  12. I have 28k on my 07 and just a slight whine but not all the time. Sometimes it sounds more like a turbo going thru the gears. Other than the lack of greese in the rear wheel (grinding noise) at 1500 mi. there have been no problems. I make sure they greese the splines when I replace the rear tire (about every 8-9 k). So far I've been happy with my rstd.
  13. I have mine aimed like Squidly. They also dont glare back at you in fog if aimed down alittle.
  14. Rite on!!
  15. My Favorite is Taylor. Once I played one it was hard to put down...so hard in fact I took it home. Can't beat the action or sound and they just get better with age. Try one before you get anyting.
  16. I cut mine off also, put a power station (fused) so I could plug in radar detector, GPS or whatever. Kinda nice, turn the key off and whatever you have plugged in turns off and you don't come back to a dead battery.
  17. They install fairly easy if you not color blind. I read the instrustions and thought this will be easy untill I got into the wiring and couldn't tell for sure what wire was what color. My son came home from work and pointed the right ones and it took about 40 min. Not hard to install at all.
  18. I run with driving lights all the time. I have noticed less cages pulling out in front of me in daylight. I work nights and ride at night quite a bit. They do help at night. Takes a little trial and error to get them aimed just right but when you do it really helps. I wired mine to be on all the time, not just when the high beams are on.
  19. Right on! Looks like a good time!
  20. 'Ol Dirty Ed of the Dirty Ducks MC
  21. Nice lookin Strat:clap2:
  22. Baron has some nice sounding pipes. I've got the Bag Slash on my 07 rstd and they sound good. they have removable baffels that can be wraped if there to loud for you uot of the box.You won't have to rejet either.
  23. I've run into a few of those myself. I just tell em they are right and in fact 95% of the harleys made scents 1945 are still on the road! The rest made it home! And my way of life isn't sittin on the side of the road hopin a " rice burner":Venture: will stop and help!
  24. I hope he is wrong!!!
