I had the same "discontinued" problem with upgraded passenger floorboards. I went to get new rubber pieces and luckily I noticed they were not the same pattern as mine, before I paid for the ordering. And of course, my rubbers are "dissed"! On the covering up of the space under the carbs .... I had an idea. I have attached a pic from paint, so no laffing! (Tricky to use that mouse) but what I had wanted to do was make a pair of these "plates" and gloss black them. Make them just a hair bigger than the domed decals and attach through the hole in the bracket. Centre the decals and I'm thinking "totally rad man!" But no mechanical abilities here .....

I can only think of one reason for the government not jumping in with both boots and sticking BP with the bill .... because they know BP ain't gonna have the do-re-mi to do this, and I don't think it is "doable". I already heard rumours today if BP goes under, so will Britain's stock market. There's bigger things afoot than just ruining the Gulf! And I think BP and Obama were BOTH hip to it from the get go!! IMO

Someone else asked for the shipping costs to Canada and the guy said $12, I am not sure if these fit .... but check it out Carl and see if this is what your seeking. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Wide-Chrome-Brake-and-Clutch-Lever-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2307ad1ba7QQitemZ150452640679QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Good luck! Gotta agree to the Street Glide, but that Rocker would be a single rider ..... wife would NEVER get on THAT seat. Looks scary!

I heard of a guy who had his brother-in-law drive down a country lane with his wife on the back of the bike and she let the ashes go ..... forever In The Wind. My place has great sentimental reasons, we even have a painting over our bed of the place, the Grotto at Tobermory.

Thats for sure!! At least if I going in to buy, say, a car or a bike, I know this guys trying to get a little more and I'm trying to get a little less. Its a "game", but at least its fair, you both know the rules, so to speak. But preying on people when they are at their weakest, "to show people you really cared?" WTF!! "Vultures" is a darn good term, "bullies" sure comes to mind, but I think I'll stick with "parasites"

This is the outfit that we use for cottage rentals in the summer. For good deals check the first week of September and on. The first one is the actual cottage we get every Sept and the second URL is the home page if anyone has any interest in that kinda thing. These are private residences that rent for certain weeks of the year, not corporations. Add $110 for insurance and cottage site fee. There are some REAL beauties to look through. http://www.rentcottage.com/showcottage.cfm?cottagenumber=243 dunvilsteevs summer palace http://www.rentcottage.com/ Pick your own

With 2 daughters and the wife, "who was not going out there alone at night", we ALWAYS brought the honey bucket.

Sadly, my mother-in-law recently passed way due to lung cancer. She wanted to donate her body to science, but she was rejected, due to the cancer. It came to me to do the final arrangements and did I ever get an awakening into this business. She wanted a cremation with no service, as inexpensive as possible. When contacting funeral homes I was quoted in the $3600 to $4000 range. But there are "burial services" out there that do the same job for $1300 to $1600. We go with an outfit called Tranquility that had NO pressure sales, nice to deal with and just over $1300 for everything. In the meantime, I receive a letter from Bay Gardens, stating that although my mother did pay for the "group package" when my father died,($5000 back in '94) which included everything for my father and then my mother when she passes, one part was omitted and if we wish to save $$ on the future HST tax, we can pay now. I call and ask about this "missing part" and it is the transporting of the body from the nursing home (her current residence) to Bay Gardens for cleaning, and then across the street to the crematorium. For this they want $2000!! I was stunned, told them wait we already paid for the package but I was assured that this was STRICTLY for the transporting of the body. When I asked about Tranquility doing the whole thing for $1300 his answer was they treat the body with dignity .... WTF??? So, I go to pick up my mother-in-laws remains and the guy at Tranquility hands me the box, on top is a receipt of the contents from ...... BAY GARDENS. Seems they contract out the jobs to Tranquility anyway!! Talk about a scam .... And everybodies make a profit here too. Then I start telling the guy at Tranquility about my mum and what a scam these crooks are pulling, when he suggests that since I have paid for the cremation, opening and closing of the niche already with Bay Gardens, I can use their services and instead of $1300 it will only be $800. Versus $2000 with BG! Boy, did I enjoy that call to the smarmy crook at Bay Gardens telling him about the "change of plans". When we originally looked into donating the mother-in-law to science, there is a charge, the transporting of the body ..... the REAL fee $170! Whoa eh? And one last note: Every look through the obits and see those crooks advertising their funeral home right in the persons obit? Thats because the low lifes have said they'll write the obit for the family, plunk in their logo and stick the family with the bill for their advertising. Bottom feeders - IMO:mad: Thanks for letting me rant .... feels better already. I already told the wife when I die to put me on an ice floe and send me out. If I happen to go in the summer, throw me in the freezer for a week, ice should be back by then!

It is freakin' amazing you kept the bike up. Well done mate!

If you look in the manual for a venture it has 450 lbs .... take a look at our member gallery. Trying to be PC here .... lets say that number is bogus. The courses will fill up quick this time of year (from experience) you will be booking for weeks ahead. Phone insurance company and find out prices, from $800 for a 650 vstar to $1300 for venture becuase I still had learners permit. I know its cheaper down south, but that SHOULD be figured in too. Good luck, and what a great plan .... course for two, how romantic!!

Mine are in the mail, and I HAD planned on placing them on the air breather covers. But upon closer inspection I notice that raised rib. I was wondering before I try .... anyone else put them there or try? Worried about "ripples".

Sheeesh ... how do you expect those poor oil companies to make any money if your out there using discount cards?

If you ARE truly intersted in riding in the future, this is a good way to go. BECAUSE anything over 750 puts you in a higher insurance bracket (at least up here) and you are at the highest now being a beginner, so more $$$ for the next 3 years. If you plan on touring and 2 up trips, I think he will be leaning towards a bigger bike than a 950 in the future. Which is really a big mid size bike nowadays. Figure out what you think you will want in the future, if your riding the "old" 650 he might only want an 1100 with some bags for storage... if you get my drift?! And do you really want to sit on that little peapad on the 950 vs the venture "momma couch"? I know which way wifey voted here. PS: Invest in a membership, a fantastic deal.

I heard with the storms yesterday there was small tornados, I must admit .... you came to mind! Good luck Carl, I am presuming that the lady was charged, not you. And don't pay any deductible, it puts the fault partially on you, SHE pays your deductible ... (from experience there buddy!! Took me 5 years to get that back!) Again, good luck MUST be comin' your way!!

NOT ME!! Sounds like the typical guy who pulls me over .... on a power trip. You proved him wrong and yet he still wants the last word? Watch this dude, he's trouble with a badge. DEFINITELY, call his sarge and ask the rules "because you were unaware of this situation and don't want to cause any trouble", thereby getting it noted ... But dont spread it on too thick, he'll just have one of his buddies in the "brotherhood" hassle the heck outa ya if he gets in trouble with his boss. This has been MY personal experience, just FYI.

Welcome aboard Tricia ..... makes sure hubby does that course!! Heartily recommended! In Canada we have two, and they were both worth every penny.

Well said, mate. I agree 100% with everything you mentioned.

How often should this be checked? 05 and this is my first time, I thought my bearings MUST be ruined but things seem just as explained, soft plunk to the left side and firmer to the right side. I will check for motion next time I dig out that ^#$^ jack again. Ain't they a treat to pick up?! ooowww my back! Thanks again guys - indebted!
-
I'd say mine moved about 1/4" total.
-
All rightee!! Thank guys! YES from the left hand side seemed to worked vs the right. Did NOT need to undo that nutfromhell. Front wheel sits solid! Yeah. Thanks again.

Thanks Goose I'm going to try it without loosening that darn bolt .... looking at the rings from the right hand side (throttle above my head) I should be hitting them so that if looked at from above they would be turning clockwise or to the right .... I presume this is the correct direction ... second guessing myself

TWO OF US!!?? I think one more and its a recall, let me just check toyota.com. I even just tried taking off the jack so there is some tire resistance, all that happens is it looks like I'm raising the whole front end up .... what adreneline?? scratched the crap outa the bolt already too. Put a pipe on the end of the channel locks ... I bent the channel locks handle!! Don't mess with me!! grrrrr
