Paid my insurance on September 30th, a tidy sum of $1038 I might add, and it hasn't stopped raining since! Don't tell me the insurance companies are paying off Mother Nature now!! I know if you turn around ANY politician you can find a pair of "insurance boots" hanging out the back end, but this is ridiculous. Come on Mama!!!

Reminds me of my late buddy Al, coming in with his encyclopedia of an owners manual for his Caddy, this was after owning it for about 6 weeks. He says, "This thing has a CD player in the #$^# trunk!" A very funny moment, ya kinda had to be there!- 32 replies

The first time I heard about www.stumbleupon.com was through my daughter who sent me pics of a "Hobbit House" in Wales. Since then I have been on it constantly. What you do is select items that interest you (ie: sports - skydiving) and then you click on "stumble" and it boots around the web and shows you the coolest stuff. You really have to try it in order to appreciate it. This is one of the pages from the motorcycle section, a real cool 1930 Henderson. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2RL9qW/www.bikeexif.com/art-deco-custom-motorcycle

..... and you're still here to talk about it??? Must be "fleet of foot"!!

I F/F to the end ..... OMG. You know, they MUST of had someone freeze at one time, unable to move and clinging on at 1000 ft. screaming out for "Mummy" .... surely SOMEONE must of thought I can do it and then find out, half way up ..... oh oh maybe not!! Odds are, right? I just KNOW I'm having high level dreams tonight.

Me too!! Could not watch the whole thing, once they got on them little single rungs .... OMG!! And then when they get from one section to the next and theres nothing there .... hopefully I don't have to pee for the next half hour or so while I relax, or I may have to squat!

Buddy lent me his Suzuki (a week old) I think it was an 850 .... back in the foggy eighties .... and I had come to a notorious long light and I was revving the ship out of it listening to the roar when I hear from behind me, ....the light has changed. Don't ask me WTF I was thinking, but in mid rev I let the clutch go, up on one wheel she flies, tank in my stomach and feet dragging behind me, across the intersection in mach 2, heading for the poor guy turning left with his mouth wide open in amazement, I put it down just in time and missed him by a coat of paint!! Went back and threw my buddy the keys and said "Fast bike" .....until about 4 years later when I told him. Scared the poop outa me !!!!

AGAIN, thanks everyone. A tough one for sure.

Ode for Al Let me tell you a short story about my friend Al, A real nice guy, proud to call him a pal. We met back in the 70’s, two dirt biking males, Out riding the west Hamilton Mountain trails. Al on a CanAm, and a Honda for me, Soon traded bikes, a test ride for free. After our rides we said our good bye, Riding home I thought, "What a nice guy." Then at Stelco one day, while at the gate, Who do I see, but my "CanAm mate". Years go by on the mill, oily & dirty, Its time to retire, our years equal thirty. Al bought a Harley, it was a Venture for me, We were in the wind, cruising, and feeling free. Then one day, while riding alone, Al was barely a mile from home. He was in an accident that took his life, We tried our best to console his wife. It broke our hearts saying good bye to "Titch", I remember him smiling, after riding "*****". Although Al’s story is very sad and true, Here’s a thought so you are not so blue. When thinking of Al, remember this my friends, He now rides on my shoulder .... still loves the bends!! S. Hoedt Sept 2010

Clean the bike. Clean the rider and passenger. Power wash off those old tatts, time for some new ink.

This is my standard windshield that was cut down at the plastics shop ..... $50. They ran some "magic stuff" over the edge to give it the nice edge. I am 5" shorter than you and it is perfect for me to look over, and even peek through in a quick shower if caught (yet again)

okay, so I gotta ask, where they going to get these blood samples?? surely not a rash of roadside nosebleeds?
-
Thank you, one and all.

I worked with Al for 30+ years and having both recently retired together we had become regular riding buddies. His latest restoration was a 1977 Suzuki GT500, that he had spent many hours bringing back to shape. Not 2 miles from home today on the 'Uki he was t-boned by a 91 year old coming out of a stop sign onto a 50 mph highway. Al was truly "one of the good ones", I don't think I had ever seen him upset, just an easy going guy. He will be sorely missed. A sad, sad time!

When I ran into one dealership actually charging 20% higher than the book price for parts and called MotherYamahaCanada in the hopes of getting some action, I was told, "Each dealership is a privately owned business and they can charge whatever they wish."

My wife is a Children's Librarian, which involves not only storytime but also crafts. One of the most popular was a ducttape wallet. Kids loved it! And we all know how a kid/teen can spend ..... probably ripping those bills outa there at 100 mph!!! mach 1 ???
