  1. Been scanning old pics to digital, here's one from 1961 on Dad's '55 Wolseley as we went through Europe, that ME the ornament. Oooh to have that car nowadays!!
  2. What can I say?? snowing all day, no ones playing Scrabble online, bound to get up to some trouble. Thought SOMEONE might find this a little funny, I sure did.
  3. So, you and the couch getting along just fine by now I'd be guessing!
  4. Someone's not going to be sitting for a while ..... ouch!
  5. After going through all the entrants, judges finally decided on Dave, as Dad of the Year 2010.
  6. Even if you don't ski, this clip is worth a view. A new video technique called tilt shift. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2pJCXX/www.geek.com/articles/geek-cetera/whistler-blackcomb-miniaturized-tilt-shift-2011017/
  7. When we were looking for wifey for xmas, we found out that the Kindle was not compatable to the Canadian library system... I believe the format was EPUB (or something like that) for the library books. I am not familar with the Borders model. If you go to your closest library's website I am sure there will be info telling you the type of file reader you need, and of course a catolog of available books ..... merry xmas you lucky dog!!!
  8. No, Pooles was established in 1945, but Sturgess Cycle on King St. West was open then. They do advertise themselves as Canada's Oldest and I remember newspaper ads about being around for a 100 years. Just a guess, mind you.

    1913 Harley

Interesting little video of a 1913 Harley that actually runs. For the Canucks, if you listen, he says it was originally purchased in Hamilton Ontario. http://www.fark.com/cgi/vidplayer.pl?IDLink=5734912
  10. Well ........ I got something a little different ..... a ski pass for Blue Mountain (7th yr in a row) .... so I also agree ..... all together now, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snoooow!! :snow::snow:
  11. I ran into a problem with doing that, I put the gas in when it was about 5C (about 45F) and when it actually warmed up for a few days to about 13C I went into the shed and I could smell gas, puddle on the floor and gas dripped down the tank. I presume it had to do with heating - expansion and a crappy seal on the tank cap. So the last two years I fill it, add the Stabil, go for short trip and then shed it from there, oh yeah, I also turn off the gas and let it idle until it runs out of gas. Is this useless or a good idea? Sadly, today is the day.
  12. Is that an offer for a "house trade" ..... ALL RIGHT!! You're on, I'll get the dogteam loaded and meet you at the airport .... might want to bring your thermal speedo.
  13. I normally change the oil prior to "shedding" the baby for the winter. Have been under the weather lately, (let me tell you about ureathane fumes and redoing a hardwood floor in the fall without proper ventilation!) so I have only put on a 1,000 km since the last change, about 650 miles. Would you bother changing it? Thanks!
  14. Two of them ???? I think I smell new earrings coming for the wife for Christmas, you old softie! I just hope you don't make the same mistake I did for Halloween. Although it seems hilarious at the time, that glue is very painful, so I should warn you about "emblem pasties". Not a good idea! PinkNips
  15. I think it looks cool. Roadglide-ish! Saddlebags would be a nightmare! And where the hell is the cassette player?
  16. Tailgaters!! Get the hell off my ass!
  17. I am out of the Mr Clean soap, but I found a few sponge refills on the shelf, so I have a new one in the "gun" and 2 saved, that should do me a few seasons because I only use it for the bike. Make a good product, sell it, then yank it off the shelves .... go figure huh?? Anyone, if you still have the "gun" try filling it with Palmolive in the soap barrel, works great!
  18. After 3 refills I can attest to having good results with Palmolive Dishwashing Detergent. It does NOT gum up the device like a lot of different soaps will. Like I said I've run 3 full containers through it now and it works fine. Smells like apples too! The sponge spray does work for no droplets but just not to the level of using polymer soap. after 15 minutes I may find a few in tight spaces..... For all my fellow Mr Clean users, grab the sponge refills while you can, save some do-re-mi on the soap, and see you at the next Show&Shine!
  19. Oh .... Oh.... wait another one - So your hiding in the closet, stifling the laughter, nearly busting a gut because this is going to be SO funny!!!! Then when you jump out and go "Boo!" the wife doesn't think it is funny at all! Trust me, Death Valley had nothing on those "dry days"!! Lesson learned!

    Dogs

Yeah ... for sure, on both counts, wonderful dramatic pause at the end by the announcer. A great OMG moment. First the miners, now their dogs .... these Chileans are a heroic bunch!
  21. A good one too: When making Yorkshire Pudding, don't put too much oil in the pan. Or as the batter swells when it cooks and it pushes the oil out, it creates a puddle on the foil catch tray. Rumour has it that when you attempt to remove the same said foil tray the next thing you know the freaking oven is a blaze and you're digging out the fire extinguisher from (of course!) the very back of the cupboard. No need to ask how I know all this .... check out my NEW stove!
  22. For the Canadians on site: The Heart & Stroke Foundation is doing a calendar this year for $25. There is $5000 drawn daily, $10,000 drawn weekly and $100,000 every month. A GREAT idea for xmas, keeps on giving ALL year. http://calendar.pdgmedia.com/ I just received the 3 calendars that we ordered 2 weeks ago. Oh yeah, 3 for $70 or 6 for $120. Good luck.

    Dogs

..... and now for your "feel good" video of the day! Oh yeah, you're welcome http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/30F5sO/www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DVYZQbZ1jK58
  24. Call me suspicious ..... It's a freakin' you tube sound track! Dont think they are exactly considered truthful! Seems a little funny he would "just happen" to have a mini personal recorder capturing all this??? And nobody noticed it? Dude probably had on a Bob Marley tshirt , NORML bumperstickers, and exhaling a bongful as he pressed "record" in the border line! Probably the Scorpio in me, but I think it's a pile a ship put out to stir up more ship. Back to the original thread ..... 2 grand just to get things sorted out! I feel for you man, just to clear up some BS paperwork. Hope things come out for you, I actually hope they are proven SO wrong that you have legal recourse to go after the 2 grand! Fingers crossed!! Again best of luck!!
  25. On our way for a ski trip my buddy, girlfriend (now wife) and I were stopped at the border and denied entry because he had a reefer charge. This was 1982. I have since been to the local cops and they tell me "I'm okay to cross", I have a passport, but I'm leery to try because of the prior denial. Anyone ever been denied and then returned? I figure I'm going to try and they'll impound the vehicle and "rubber glove time" for Stevie!
