How much money are we putting into our rides?

Lightbar, eyebrows, tailight cover, license frame & bolts, backrest, floorboards (both sets), Bubs, lowering kit (& install), choke cover, passing light bar, grill, brake covers,highway pegs, shifter, brake, alarm etc..... since I do document this stuff .....so far $3935. But I've also spent $3090 on bike insurance in the last 3 years and what do I have to show for that?? Whereas the chrome and leather gives me endless hours and cleaning and polishing nirvana. It an investment in karma. -
OMG it figures, and I guess we get extra bonus points if he is also Mr July from the calendar, shirt off carrying a hose??? .... I feel used, (I like it) but I feel used!

DARN RIGHT .... more than enough time! I like looking what the target is before I go for a spin, my buddy actually spotted the Easter Bunny, I was cruising right by .... oblivious to the big pink bugger. He was laughing, going out into the road to take the pic, cars were going by looking at us wondering WTF I had cruised right by the day before and missed him. It can be a hilarious time doing this hunt, or just a plain AHA moment when you think "I know where that is."

If I wasn't going to replace the rubber with a bib would you still recommend doing it? I guess what I'm asking is does the rubber thing have a use and by having a bare tank I'll have problems? Does the sun fade the colour so that if I removed it there would be a strip of different colour paint? Thanks.

Watch out if you cross the border, recent new laws for hands free devices ONLY or tickets, and they ARE looking for it. And your recent purchase brings to mind my backrest, I was showing my neighbour, all smiles .... out waltzed the wife, looks at it, doesn't say a word, walks into the house, so I figure don't mention anything. A couple of days later a *#@%$ truck pulls in the driveway and off loads a leather sectional couch .... she turns to me and says, "I needed something to rest MY back on!" Women .....

I've been looking into this filtration systems, best price I could find was $180 for the unit (garden hose variety) and then $35 for the filters. You still have to replace filters. They have a real nice one at Costco on wheels for $360. House systems cost thousands. Mr Clean filter = $8 I usually get 15 to 20 bike washes out of a filter, about $.50 a wash. Soap must be bought no matter what you are using. But even given extra $$ for that, it would take me a long time to catch any sort of savings, if ever. But, it does not matter, like I said, its discontinued. Back to a chamois!!

I don't know if anyone else was a fan of this product,..... but the magic word there is "was". I have been having a hard time finding the refill soap, so I contacted P&G and just got back a letter stating they are discontinuing the product. So, if you use Mr Clean car wash system, run out quick and score all the soap and sponges you can, while they are on the shelf. Wait till I tell the wife, she is always on me for "washing the bike again!", obviously I didnt do it enough.... if they're discontinuing the brand!! Dam, and that system worked SOOO well too!

Bought my bike with lights installed and they are set for low only, high beam shuts them off .... at least on my bike and I presume it was dealer installed, like everything else.

Bought the bike used with 3000 km, it now has 36,000 kms and when I changed the rear gear oil I noticed the plug has a nipple on the end, and the nipple on my plug was coated in either grease (I hope) or gunk build up (hope not). Could it be grease? sure felt like it... Greasy fingers crossed!

I've noticed an ad on Kijiji for Big Al's sale for tomorrow, April 3rd in London. When I did find his website the prices didn't seem that great, but the ad mentioned truckloads of new stock being liquidated. Anyone familiar with this outfit? I was wondering if anyone had been to one of these sales before, anyone going tomorrow? I needs me a new jacket .....

I gather the Cancer Society doesn't have the same program we have up here. April is Cancer month so we have door to door canvassers, people at the grocery stores selling daffodil pins or bunches (hint hint canucks!) and signs all over for it. Here I thought I could get one of you magpies to part with some of your bling $$$ and contribute, pose with a posey and we could get a smile. Instead I'm the brunt of these flower jokes, we're supposed to be making fun of the poser not ME... this isnt working out at all

In Canada, April is cancer month and there are lots of booths selling daffodils, signs showing them all over and ...... actually my neighbour has some blooming in her backyard as we speak.
