  1. Perhaps others have been through this: English teeth and years of cola have left me in a right state. I have a partial plate for all my bottom molars which I despise and rarely wear (it feels like a hunk of hard plastic) and I have had a 4 tooth bridge on the top left side for 30 years. Lately the bridge has been getting infections regularly, although he cant see anything the dentist thinks the root may be cracked. It seems it is on its last legs. So now I'm going to need a partial for the top, but after the bottom I wonder if going to a denturist might not be a better idea. I know the bottom was about $1200 and I had to pay $350 of it (above insurance) through the dentist. Has anyone been to both, which is better? more economical? and better work? Thanks.
  2. I also have mine lowered, I have one warning for you.... watch corners if you're riding two up.
  3. Congrats and good luck !
  4. I'm guessing, it IS hard to tell, however, I'd be leaning towards hawk or osprey, eagles tend to have dark bodies, his body looked light colored to me. But having said that an immature eagle is a definite possibility.
  5. Thank you for your help ... looking forward to it!
  6. I am very interested in the shorter "vertically challenged" model, but I was wondering how you got a venturerider discount?? PS Your bike looks GREAT !!
  7. There's got to be an easier way.... When I had the new tires installed I told the guy to face the air valve to the high side (right), but he called me in and showed me the positioning of the rear brake disc made this impossible. Crawling underneath with very limited vision, dam hot pipes and of course, I'm lowered by 2" too, makes for a difficult time and a freakin' burned forearm! Like i said .... there's got to be an easier way. >>>
  8. I think one or two of you guys lived in my house before me ..... if something takes 4 screws to mount it, it'll invariable have TWO KITTY CORNERED from each other. All over this house! I'm one of those "if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right" type of dinosaurs. To sit on a loose seat would bother me to no end. Besides .... its the baby!
  9. This is SO typical of me ..... attached the seat, snugged up the bolt and it starts spinning. At this point I realized, rounded headed bolt used. Ripped it out and NOW have a hex head bolt in its place, in the drying stage, but THIS WILL WORK! $12 in parts seems a lot better than $400 for a new seat.
  10. That does look very similar to the bolt that came out, except the shaft without threads was not that thick, same size, and the head was square, but about the same size. Thanks, the plastic putty is now in "set mode" hoping to go for a spin this aft. Looks good so far.
  11. Thanks playboy .... looked it up, JB Weld plastic putty EXACTLY WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!
  12. If speed is not required, look into the post office and greyhound.
  13. As many others have done, I snapped one of the studs that secure the seat to the frame. After some surgery with the trust Bowie, I removed the old stud and now have a "quarter - sized" hole. A washer/locking nut assembly still feels rather flimsy. My idea was to set the right sized bolt and then use something to both fill the hole and then set rigid, so as to hold the bolt. Epoxy ? Fiberglass repair? I even see Krazy Glue comes as a gel now... got me thinking. Any ideas? Anyone else try this? Thanks ahead of time.
  14. I thought it was better attach to an OP vs starting a new one and explaining what I was talking about... This was where I noticed leakage, the bike was idling, covers still ON. I presumed these where frost plugs and that was the cause of my problem. Do you think that this could NOT of ran my reservoir dry and left a puddle under the bike during the winter??? There was no leakage around the water pump or rad.
  15. Noticed a puddle under the baby, after some tracing and part removal it seems to be coming from the dam frost plug. I presume I screw a screw into the threaded opening, yank the old one out and hammer the new one in place???? Sound about right?? Called to order the parts, I overhead the parts guy asking someone? (gawd I hope it wasnt their mechanic) about it and he didnt know how to remove or install at all... well here, let me bring my bike in for y'all to practise on! AS IF!
  16. Hate to actually defend pprince.... but insurance is a very tender point with us Canucks. You've got to admit paying double to ride half the time is ludicrous, an obvious insurance gouge. But, with skin that thin I'm surprised he could handle the wind behind a bike. 'nuff said
  17. TD Insurance $680 with collision
  18. Switched the baby over to HEMP OIL, she goes like a bat outa hell, but won't pass a donut store and I swear the back tire is starting to get fat!
  19. I'm clueless... of course, it works for me??

    Al's Ride

A photog friend has a few GoPro's etc. so we filmed this little video in honour of a passed friend, his favourite run. Around the 3:00 mark, if you look real careful, you can make out the Port Colborne Optical Illusion, whereby the factory in the distance gets smaller as you get closer. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?v=437896996268684

High Dynamic Range is a photo effect whereby 3 different exposures of the same shot are layered and free software, Luminance, is used to create pics like this one.
  22. There is a testimonial area on the site with people mentioning windy conditions. The unit has a metal plate you park the front wheel upon, also it comes predrilled for anchor bolts. I have cinder blocks on it for now because I plan on re-locating during the winter. The cover is bolted to the frame, and velcro straps. But, its new to me too, Condor, so "I'll let y'all know" is the best I can say more now!
  23. Oh yeah, and a sale on right now including free delivery. Until the end of the month.
  24. A new purchase for me that may interest some of you. This is called a BIKE BARN, sold out of B.C. I made a "pad" out of paving stones we had elsewhere, and the Barn took about 2 hours to assemble. It is a drive-in-close-up structure, no fear of hot pipes, good for all seasons, weighed down by cinder blocks but you can permanently secure if you wish. There is a gif on the website of a pretty girl in shorts opening and closing it. http://www.thebikebarn.net/index.html
