  1. Yep, booked ours there yesterday and cancelled the Oberlin Inn. We were going to camp at Don's but the other half is partial to air conditioning for this weekend. They still have plenty of rooms.
  2. Cool, save us a seat and we'll join you.
  3. Ponch, our condolences to you and your family. Very sorry to hear of your loss. We'll keep all of you in our prayers.
  4. Seems like it's a 3 mile trip, takes about a half hour, comes down a bit faster than that. It would take longer the more trains that they run, there's two places with sidings and switches to allow them to pass.
  5. Yeah, my camera person reset the date somehow. Back to the future??????????? After experiencing the wind and cold at the top we were glad we didn't ride up it. I give you a lot of credit for riding it. We got patches to show we were there, not the "Ride to the Top" ones, just regular ones. The cog train was pretty cool, especially when you realize the angle you're running on.
  6. Thanks Brad, had quite the trip.
  7. Link to our pics..... http://photobucket.com/NewEngland2010
  8. Rolled in home about 45 minutes ago. 2501 miles on the trip meter. Rode in rain about 500 of those miles. We had a great time, Chuck and Cindi are great traveling partners. I'm going to setup a photobucket account so we can upload all the pics. The E3s handled well, a little loud but no problems in the rain or in the mountains.Had a stock size E3 put on the front just before we left. I hadn't experienced the 150 as I had a 130 on the front when I got the bike. Since I had installed leveling links I wanted to see the difference. No problem in parking lots, made one of the tightest uturns since I got the bike yesterday, very easy. The bigger difference was on the highway, bike was a lot more stable at highway speeds, especially in the wind. All in all a great time and we're already planning next year's trip. Looks like we'll be going Southeast next year.
  9. Made it to Cape Cod today, had a great supper, Sue got her lobster. Going whale watching tomorrow, heading toward home on Wednesday. Should roll in sometime Friday. Sorry, Bob, missed your call, coverage has been somewhat spotty. Enjoy you trip, if you come back across Northern IN give me a call.
  10. Rode this today from Conway NH to 93 and took off for Cape Cod. Very nice road, if you get the chance Rte 100 on the west side ofr the state is nice too. Bob, didn't get your phone call in time this morning. We were already in Boston. Hope the rest of your trip goes good.
  11. Hey Joe, Congratulations on the new ride. Hope you enjoy it for a long time to come. We're enjoying our 2006 Black Cherry RSV (you know the one I mean). Glad you're riding again buddy.
  12. That's right, we're here in NH, Moose signs all over, haven't seen any yet. Great riding, we're heading to MA tomorrow, going to stay in Provincetown on the Cape.
  13. Joe, you jinxed me...... Rode in the rain all day today. We rode across Vermont, stopped at Mt. Washington and rode the cog train to the top, cool, very cold and windy. Getting a lot of good pics. I'll get some posted soon as I can. I did put some on Facebook through my phone. Cape Cod tomorrow for two days then head for home. Going whale watching in Cape Cod......how cool is that?
  14. Thanks fellas, having a great time. Got wet a little tonight. We're in Burlington VT at a jazz festival. Heading to New Hampshire tomorrow. Getting great pics. Cape Cod on Monday and Tuesday, whale watching. Glad we could do this very nice.
  15. Rolled into Buffalo, NY about 3:00pm today. Off to Bennington, VT early tomorrow morning. Traffic wasn't bad, got to use my new air horn on a woman who tried to come into my lane, it worked great, she was shocked. 450 miles today, 300 or so tomorrow, then the fun really starts.
  16. Thanks Joe, I'll do my best.......
  17. Leaving our house at 6:00am tomorrow morning. Heading for New England, a nine day trip, going to fill out some states on my map and see some areas we haven't seen before. I'll try to update as we go as long as I can get online.
  18. We stayed at Findley 4 years ago on our first trip over, it's pretty nice. We were going to stay at Shaun acres this year but since 93 Venture has backed out we're going to brave the pond monsters and camp in your front yard. I've heard stories about what happens there at night so now I'll get to find out.
  19. Charlie, The H rated tire has a higher load rating, the V rated has a higher speed rating. Get the 80H, it's better for heavier loads and pulling trailer.
  20. Nice.........maybe we can send our guys to drill in their backyard.........
  21. Black Owl told me he has been fielding some questions about the trailer for the 2010 Int'l Rally that we're raffling off. Since this is my deal, I'll do my best to explain it. The supplier of the trailer is Time Out Trailers. They're a local manufacturer of the CycleMate line of motorcycle cargo trailers and Timeout motorcycle camping trailers. The deal I worked out with the owner is that we will receive a voucher good for $1500.00 towards any of their trailers. They produce about 12 different cargo trailers and 2 campers. I will post a link to their website at the end of this post. Whoever wins the trailer raffle will have to contact Timeout and can then decide what they want. You will be able to actually hand over the voucher and walk away with a base trailer or you can use it towards a higher end trailer or even a camper. However you decide it's worth $1500.00. We figured this would be easier than trying to get a certain trailer. This way the winner can decide what's the best deal for them. I hope this explains how the deal will work a little better. Questions? Let me know. I live in Elkhart and would be available to help out the raffle winner anyway I can. You can see their line of trailers here: http://timeouttrailers.org/default.aspx
  22. I guess that would be one of the "known problems" on a Wing.......... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  23. Don't think you can do that, can you? I would guess putting the VMax gears in and a Dyna 3000 ignition module would make a pretty good difference.
  24. I agree with this, I have both a 130 Avon and leveling links installed. I did tighten my steering head bearing this spring. I've not experienced any "squirrelly" feeling one up, two up or pulling the camper. We had her up to 95 this past saturday no problem. The 130 was on the bike when I got it, Denden said it would feel kind of "loose" until I got used to it. I don't think it feels too much different than the 90 VR did. I now have an E3 on the back, when I get a new front tire I may put the 150 on to see what the difference is.
  25. Could be he means the difference between the tread pattern on an Avon or E3 vs. a D404 type pattern??????????????????
