I run mine at 7250, Gator06 has his at 7500 but he has a different cam installed. The 2nd gens do have a "weaker" valve spring that may allow it to float the valves between 7500 and 8000 rpm. 7250 gives me a lot more rev room.

Yep, it's well worth the money. That and a Dyna 3000 to up the rpm limiter really makes a BIG difference.

Watch Ebay and you can get one for about 220.00. Nice upgrade, the higher rpms are great, couple that with Vmax gears in the rearend and it's really great.

True, it is her bike but I'll get some kind of commission....lololol Yep, can't forget the ice cream!

James, We have a 2000 Honda Shadow 750 ACE sitting in a storage unit. This was the wife's bike until she got her Road Star. It has 13,880 miles on it. New battery, new tires (less than 500 miles), Memphis Shades windshield, Mustang seat with backrest, Mac Fat Stakker pipes, chrome rear fender rack, National Cycle Paladin engine guards. Fresh oil and antifreeze. K&N air filter and carbs at Stage 3. Pics attached. Let me know if you might be interested.

Not too bad of a deal but, I could tell you where you can get a brand new 2009 Roady or Roady S in Michigan for a pretty good discounted price. We got my wife's 2009 Roady from them and she loves it. New from the crate 0 miles on the odometer, when the Venture is paid off I might get one for me for a solo rider.

Congratulations! Hope you two have many more together.

LED turn signal bulbs

Cheap LEDs aren't very bright. The ones from Custom Dynamics are pricey but a lot brighter. -
LED turn signal bulbs
Leadwolf56 replied to djh3's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I replaced my tail/brake light with the 100 LED board from Custom Dynamics. WAY brighter than the stock bulb, will do so with my Harley brakelight bar too, along with the LED light bar under the trunk you WILL see me when I hit the brakes. i agree with Bummer all of the LEDs are brighter than bulbs and more eye catching. -
Don, as the others said, thanks for opening your home to all of us. It was great seeing you and Eileen and a lot of others that we usually only see at MD. Did miss Sqid and the others that didn't make it. Looking forward to next year.

Stock box is set at 6,000 rpm. I have my Dyna at 7250, like the extra revs. Next mod will be the Vmax rearend since I pull a camper. I agree these things are up to the individual. Gator06 has replaced his cams with Vmax cams, still has stock springs, runs curve 4, has removed the AIS and airboxes, using individual filters. After all this he could not "walk away" from me and I always had more throttle left. He's now installed the Vmax rear gears, we'll have to see.........

that is true and I'm the one who told him to pm you Bob.

Looks like it's all coming together. We'd be there if it was at all possible, just not feasible at this time. Glad you had a lot of folks help on this. We agree with the others, Brad and Lonna deserve all the help they can get as they always go out of their way to help others.

Happy Birthday Don! See ya at MD.

Mine is set at curve 3 which is recommended for a stock Venture and at 7250 rpm. Gator06 has replaced his cams with either vmax or 1st gen version. He runs Curve 4 I believe. Both us are running 06 Black Cherrys, he can't beat me, he's tried but I always have throttle left at the end. Kind of frustrates him....lol. I usually get about 40-42 mpg unless pulling the camper, he gets about 35-38 mpg. The Dyna doesn't necessarily give you more power but definitely the bigger rpm range helps a lot. Vmax rear end is next on the list.

Brad, only one thing to say......BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to see this happen. We heard about it from Brad while we were in Texas over Thanksgiving. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. JT and I traded guardian bells so a part of him rides with us.

Rear Caliper Swap for RSV ??
Leadwolf56 replied to Mickey's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Check with Bummer, I believe when he put the heavier calipers on his front brakes he put one of the original front calipers on the rear.
