Got my insurance renewal notification yesterday from Progressive. Dropped from $187.00 to $179.00 this year, if I pay it in one payment it's only $163.00 for the year. This is a full coverage type policy not just PLPD. Also covers any trailer I may be towing with the bike.

I'm pretty sure the directions say to pull the nail out and ride a couple miles so the Ride On covers and seals the hole.

Brokeback Pond????????????? Something no one wants to think about...... :rotf::rotf:

quote=BEER30;200787]Hey , I pull a BEERCART and scoot equipped with a cow suit , I don't need a V-Max rearend ! So MOOOOOOve over 1st Gen's !!!!!!:rotf: BEER30 Gene, I don't know why you want to wear a cow suit when you ride, unless you think that makes you a COWboy. However, it might entice Redneck to come look you up. :rotf::rotf: Anyways, I hope you load that Beercart up full before you come to Maintenance Day! :group cheers::group cheers:

Hey just remember Chuck I ride a 1st gen with the proper gearing. I won't have any trouble pulling that trailer and getting decent mileage. That's why all the 2nd gens are putting VMax rear gears in, it makes the gearing the same as a 1st gen. 93 is scared they'll close the border and not let him back in. :rotf::rotf::rotf:

Hey Darrin, at least we're not afraid of going to Canada..........or is it that you're an illegal alien, from Mars maybe? That why you think they won't let you back in? :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

Hey Moose, Don't worry, if you ride along with us I have a GPS now. Need gas? Push a couple of buttons and it will tell you where the nearest one is. It's not been a problem for us before. If we have the usual guide it's easy, if not the GPS will do just fine.

Sue and I are registered and will be there. Gotta try out that Bunkhouse camper I just bought. As others have said it's no big deal going into Canada. Very nice people up there, they'll even help you pick up your bike if you drop it, don't know how I know this . And, (check this out 93 Venture), you CAN get back into the US without any problem. We enjoyed Fort Collins very much and are looking forward to getting back to Kitchener and see our friends up there. So, Ventureriders, pull together and make some plans to support our brothers in the Great White North as they do rallies and Meet&Eats in the US.

Lonna, he means dark chocolate, not chips but melted dark chocolate swirled in but he's gonna have to give me half. I'll give Jeff and Darrin each half of the one Darrin ordered for me. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

Dan, No you do not have to be there to buy tickets. The winner gets a certificate for the trailer. I thought you were going to have your bike done before Freebird's.

Dan, Look at the top of the page, there's a link that pops up up there. If not doa search on 2008 Venturerider Rally. The links are in a thread setup for that. Reiny, sorry to hear there's no more registered than that. I know you guys have been working hard on this. We're registered and if you cancel it will throw a big wrench into our vacation plans. We're looking forward to this and can't believe there's no more support than that for it. Hope it turns around soon for you.

I find it interesting that they can specify a battery for a motorcycle but then say it's out of warranty if you put it in a motorcycle. So what are they really supposed to be used for?

1st Gen Audio Wiring
Leadwolf56 replied to Props's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My cassette deck has gone AWOL and would like to remove it and wire in a stereo connection to plug in my IPOD, but the wiring diagrams in the manual seems to have identified every wire except those from the deck to the amplifier. Mother up by toronto made me a cable for mine that plugs right onto the cable that came off of the cassette player, has a switch to go back and forth between the radio and the MP3 player I have. It has a connector to plug right into the MP3 player. Very simple. If you PM him he could probably tell you the part number for the plug. -

Yesterday morning our gas prices in Northern Indiana went from $3.36 to $3.65 a gallon. Will now be almost $20.00 to fill the bike. I don't even try to fill the truck anymore.

Gary, Hope all of your days are like that or better. Kevin

Well we made it to Moose's house ariund noon on Sunday. Wheeled the bike out of the garage to get a good look at it. 93 Venture spotted the trouble right away, it was a very "technical" electrical problem..:rotf:, Moose can explain ..... He did live up to his claim of "I'm no mechanic!". So.....it was fixed in less than 5 minutes and fired right up. Boo showed up about 20 minutes later but was too late to help out. So we sat around and BSed and drank Moose's beer. Moose as always the gracious host that he is also fixed us lunch. He and Cindi are great people and we're glad to have them as friends. It was a great day for riding, we put on about 230 miles, almost got hit on US30, gave the driver of the cage the one finger salute, 93 Venture then told me that we're supposed to wave with all of our fingers :rotf:. All in all a great day and thanks to Moose and Cindi for the refreshments and the great lunch. It was good seeing Boo again. Kinda like a mini M&E. Hope to see all of you again soon. By the way, Moose now knows what "+" on a battery cable means.... :rotf::rotf::rotf:

Whats up with this gap?
Leadwolf56 replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
i don't know what would be causing so much downforce on the sidecovers. The only thing pulling down are the rubber clips at the bottom and the seat pshing down from the top. You could pm Squidley and ask him, he might know what the problem is and how to fix it. -
Whats up with this gap?
Leadwolf56 replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The top pin on my right side cover is broken off and it causes a larger gap than what's on the left side which still has both pins. I have the pin just need to put it back on. You need to replace the pins. Several people have done it by using varying methods. -
Hey Jerry, What's better than drinking someone else's beer? :beer:Besides we get to tear a 2nd gen apart......

Ok Chuck, ol' buddy, Darrin and I will be there sunday probably around noon. Sue's coming too but Deb has to work. Binky will probably put in an appearance as well. Hope we can get her running for you, see ya then.
