This is the same thing I have. Sue has the pants and a rain jacket from JC Whitney we bought her on our first trip to Starved Rock State Park. We've been through some heavy rain and did not get wet. I wear Red Wing harness style boots, I got them in 05, they have never leaked yet. Ready for a new pair as I scuffed these pretty bad in TN last year.

My 2009 RSV and Whine
Leadwolf56 replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Ok, I have an 06 RSV. Yes, at speed you can hear a slight gear whine but not at idle. I have nothing like a "chirp" on my bike. I have no problem hearing my radio, CB or intercom. I do however have a problem hearing the frequency that my wifes voice falls in. I have hard the annoying "chirp" sound but it was on 93 Venture's bike, a 93 VR. He also replaced his cluch basket to get rid of it. -
I think you'll like it better once you switch. I run synthetic in my 06 with no problem. Also seems to shift smoother with the sunthetic.

Hey Annie, Thank you very much. I'll let you know as soon as it gets here. It's very much appreciated.

Congrats on getting your own place. Sue and I would be there if we could but as Bummer said, we're already off for KY, MD, Potato Creek and our "other" vacation:scratchchin:. See you as soon as we can and hope y'all have a good time.

We're up for this too. Looks like it's going to start waming up next week. Bronson, figure out a date if you can. Bummer, a Squealer's run sounds good to us too. Almost time for a run up to Jackson MI for ice cream at the Parlour too.

Don, I'd take 6 of them off your hands.

Tire warranteed.

On the record Jack.

Still waiting to hear on this one.

Don't know about Metzler's other than the fact that a lot of their rear tires chunked out on Ventures, no thanks. The Avons were on my bike when I bought it, they handle very well, in fact the front one has given me no problem and is still on the bike, it's maybe half way worn or a little less. Evidently the rear one doesn't like the cold up here but other brand tires don't do this. The Bridgestones on my wife's bike (they were on it when she bought it) didn't do it. My front is fine after two winters. So, I went back to dunlop and put the E3 on to try it. i've heard a lot of good about the Michelin Commanders too. As Goose said, it's a personal choice and I choose to switch to something else. Cougar, I followed your writeup taking the rear tire and differential off. No problem.

Midnite Cherri now has a new Elite 3 on the rear and I now know how to remove the rear wheel and remove and service the rear end. Everything's been lubed up good with moly grease and the rear end fluid changed out. Took her out for a test spin and everything was good. Brakes are next. Thanks to Gator06 for the helping hand. As for the Avon, there has been no response from Avon USA to me or the dealer.

This is the same oil I use in mine. Runs great.

I was one of the "requesters". Larry does a real nice job fabricating things. He's also made me a cooler rack for my camper trailer.
-
Got mine today. Along with the horn wiring harness. As always Larry's work is great.
-
Congratulations from Sue and I. Good luck and wishing you all the best. After all you two have been through you deserve it.

Midnite Cherri - a 2006 Black Cherry RSV with Midnight seats on it. Stella - wife's 2000 Honda Shadow ACE 750

Thanks Chuck, that's some great advice, working on it. By the way I DO have a center stand for it, it's on the rack by my garage door. Do you put your car up on it's center stand away from the cold concrete? Inquiring minds need to know.....:rotf::rotf::rotf: See ya,

hey George, Not that I like to let mine sit but it doesn't do well in a foot or two of snow... The Avons were on it when I bought the bike from Denden. They do handle well but the cracks bother me, although the front one doesn't do that. I'll probably be moving to the E 3s in a little while.

I didn't buy 'em, they were on the bike when we got it. they're not very old and handle pretty good. Not like the ones they put on a Venture.
