    1st Meeting

Glad to meet you finally. It was really funny to find out we had met several years ago. You really have a nice looking bike, especially considering how much you paid to steal it...ummm...I mean buy it. Just kidding!! Can't wait to go riding...unfortunately the weather for this weekend still doesn't look good...but if it changes, I am ready. don

Our son, Jason, is a pilot in the air force.
  4. Don't complain about the snow, guys. It beats the ice we have had here for the last couple weeks. It's been bad...still thousands without power. We were of the lucky few who didn't lose power for any length of time. Then we had high winds (60 mph+) for a couple days, which set the line crews back. Today is the first really nice day (no ice, rain, wind) we have had in what seems like forever. AND I am stuck at work while Don (B2Dad) is out riding. At least he asked if it was ok to go without me. He is sweet about that. I am sure he will make it up to me this weekend! Midnite Cherri...nice name. Be good to her!
  5. I would recommend Rick's seat modifications to everyone. I got mine back about a month ago and although the weather has prevented me from riding every day, I have been able to put several hundred miles on and I really love the seat. I had been thinking about getting a back rest, but I don't think I need one now. (That makes the wife really happy!!) Even my mechanic fell in love with it. Thanks again Rick, I really appreciated what you did. I think it took a little over 2 weeks to send it off and get it back. It was quick enough for me and certainly well worth the money. You couldn't do it any cheaper any where else. AND get the extra service that Rick provides...he even fixed my seat where it was starting to tear. Don (one very satisfied customer)
  6. Nice ride you got. I used to ride my own in my younger days...which was sort of difficult because I am so short. But as I grow older, I am enjoying the back seat more and more. I like sitting there and enjoying the scenary and just basically relaxing. My job is often times stressful and riding with Don helps me to relax. If I was riding my own bike, I would have to pay attention too much! LOL! It has been said that I can also fall asleep on the back...take a short nap...anyone else do that? Patti
  7. I got the seat back Saturday and even though it was 26 degrees out today, I had to ride and try it out...I can put both feet on the ground and the seat feels great! You did an excellent job and I really appreciate it. I would recommend this seat modification to all. Thanks again Rick!
  8. I guess I'll have to bring my own too. I didn't get any last year either.
  9. Congrats on the soon to be addition. You won't regret it. We went a few years without one, not wanting the heartache of losing a loved one again. Eventually broke down and got a little one for the lap. She now has us well trained! Impromptu trips are sometimes hard to do...we either don't go far or have to take her to one of the kid's houses to babysit. Course the grandkids love that! But will never ever regret getting another one. Be sure to post pictures of the new baby when he / she arrives. Oh yeah...hope you got lots of money...gee they cost so much more nowadays!!

  14. Hey, can I be your friend? I just joined today because Don kept calling this "his" website but wanted me to type in all his messages for him. I always had to type in what he said, not what I was thinking...hmmmm...maybe I better not say anything too ugly, I still have to ride on the bike with him.
  15. Thanks for the reminder. donation sent. Happy New Year everyone! Thanks again, Don, for all you do for us. Monster or not, this site is the BEST!
  16. B2mom and I just booked our rooms at Oberlin Inn, same as last year. The hotel said they had booked all 20 rooms reserved for the Venture Riders, but let us make a reservation also at the special rate. Now the biggest problem is waiting until May to go. Can't wait to see everyone. Don
  17. Gas here in NW Tennessee today was $2.32. It's come down alot here and hope it keeps coming down. In June, when we went to Maintenance Day at Freebird's, we paid over $4 at some places. We hope it keeps coming down because Pat (my other half) is being transferred to another office 35 miles (one way) from home next month. A little bit farther than the 10 she currently drives. Hopefully the gas stays down and the stocks go up...not likely, but I can dream can't I?
  18. I would just be afraid...be very afraid!
  19. I think we saw a crotch rocket there too..????
  20. the pics are great! thank you so much for taking them and sharing on here, since we didn't get our camera out much. It was a great ride for a great cause and we plan to be there again next year. thanks everyone! Don and Pat:thumbsup:
  21. Great pictures Ebat! Enjoyed riding with you. Hope to meet up again.
  22. We made it home around lunch time today. I think we lived about the closest, but we still stayed the night outside of Memphis. It got late and cold, so we stopped just outside of Memphis and got a room for the night. Had the best time meeting everyone and going to Ronald McDonald House. It was awesome and yet very emotional. Squidley made a great presentation with the check. Had us all choked up in remembrance of Mean Dog. We are really proud to be a member of this group, whom we now call "family". I didn't count the bikes or people, I just knew we had a good turnout, or so I thought...since it was our first here. Hey Bill..did you count the "crotch rocket"? Just kidding! Our son, Jason, really enjoyed riding with us and getting to meet you all. He has done several charity bike runs for other causes and appreciated being invited to this one. I am not sure what you wanted me to elaborate on..but I chose this screen name because yes, my son flies the B2 Stealth Bomber in the Air Force. Well at least he did when I joined this site. He is now an instructor pilot for the T-38 and is stationed in Columbus, MS. We are very proud of him. Will post some pictures at a later date. Hope everyone else made it home safe. Again, it was a great (and just a little bit cool) ride. Not sure how the Northerners weathered the cold. But we would do it all over again and certainly are making plans for next year. Lewis...glad you got to take home some of my money. Enjoy!! Don and Pat:thumbsup2:
