Hey Mike, it looks really good. You did a nice job. When you want to go riding? I have to take mine in Thursday to Woody for my 30,000 mile checkup. Don:banana:
  2. I hate to say it, but it looks so very painful. Hope it is not. Hope this speeds your recovery. How long do you have to keep it on? Best wishes for a speedy recovery Annie. Don
  3. Hope this is very successful for Charlene. Pat and I know it's been a long journey for you both and we pray that this time every thing goes well. Much love and prayers... Don and Pat
  4. FYI: In Tennessee, you can get a motorcycle endorsement on a trike or a two wheel, either one counts. Now I want to thank everyone for your SUPPORT in trying to give my wife MY trike. It's not gonna happen. Hey ECK...does your wife know about the pictures you posted on here? Carbon One..I know you would not stir the pot, thank you very much. Dragon Rider...Thanks for your support....I know you and Eck always stick together. haha Oh and one more thing...I do NOT plan on going back to work...if she wants a bike/trike, she can get another job to pay for it. I did tell her she could drive mine to work ONE TIME...but I would have to follow her. Thanks everyone and have a good day. Think I will go for a ride now on MY TRIKE!!! It's 60 degrees out and sunny. Don
  5. Do you HONESTLY think Don would give up that trike that he has so lovingly worked on, cleaned, added "safety chrome" to???? hmmm?????
  6. I think whatever I want sounds good too! I even looked at a Spyder the other day. Boy are they loaded. But alas...Don is RETIRED and we really can't afford to buy another bike, trike, whatever... Soooo....I think he should give his up to me when I WANT TO RIDE. But boy that Spyder sure looked like fun...hmmm...
  7. I'm wondering.... Don has mentioned a few times that now that he's "triked" the bike, that maybe I should learn how to ride it and then get my "endorsement". I kept saying no, no, no. I enjoy the backseat alot. It's a great way to just unwind after working all day or after a hard week, we can just ride on the weekend. However, after alot of thinking, I decided maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all. I came home from work the other day and said sure, honey..you may be right. I think it's time (when the weather gets a little better) to teach me to ride the trike. Then I can get my motorcycle license....AND THEN I CAN RIDE THE TRIKE TO WORK!!!! The look on his face was PRICELESS!!! And then he said heck no! or something to that effect.... Don't you think that is WRONG???? If I learn to ride it, and get my license, why shouldn't I get to ride it to work. He doesn't work..he's retired..he has OTHER TRANSPORTATION...why can't I have my turn at it???? Any thoughts???? Pat
  8. When the weather is right, I ride my 08 Venture Trike. Otherwise I drive my recently purchased 06 Nissan Frontier. I had a big Dodge Hemi (been a Dodge / Chrysler family for many years) and when my son decided to look for a big truck, I offered it to him and decided to downsize. I purchased a Dodge Dakota (used) and when it started to have problems right off, traded for the Nissan which I am very happy with. Last year, Pat sold her Chrysler Sebring and bought an 09 Chrysler 300 which she had wanted for several years. She LOVES it. Don
  9. It is 25 degrees here this morning, not counting wind chill. So Happy New Year... Don and I stayed in last nite with 4 grandkids. Best time ever! Didn't make it to midnight tho. Too old and too worn out. LOL. Best wishes in the new year for our "family" here. May it be a prosperous and healthy new year for everyone. Don and Pat
  10. I say that with all sincerity...because Pat has been fighting insurance companies all year long. I have BC / BS Anthem, (and really haven't had any trouble out of them, but never really had a claim either) but because SHE works, they force her to buy her insurance where she works which then becomes her primary insurance. Although it's basically a good policy, she's been fighting for reimbursement of a "covered" expense since last April. (The doctor office would not bill the insurance company and asked for the money up front) Insurance keeps telling her it's covered and the check is in the mail, however, she never receives a check. She spends over an hour on the phone every week with them arguing some point. Recently the hospital charged us $21 for 3 meals they claim they provided me while she was in the hospital...which I NEVER GOT. She called the hospital to dispute the charge and BAM...they took it off the bill. Now my question is: Why can't the insurance companies work that fast? I sympathize with your problems and I know this doesn't help the wife with her pain. Hang in there and keep calling / bugging them. I think eventually we will all wear them down and they will have to approve the surgery / pay the claim!!! And meanwhile...the pain goes on. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Don
  11. Can Don ride the trike up? Or is it too cold? LOL!
  12. Thanks Lewis. Money sent via paypal. Thanks for getting this together. We appreciate all you do for St. Jude's. You always go the extra mile. You can get in touch with me or have Ponch contact me regarding the gauges. I am interested in him installing them for me. thanks again! Don
  13. going out the door to go ride-ride -ride:smile5:
  14. I had my regular checkup today with my family doctor. He was getting on to me about my weight because I had gained a couple pounds. I tried to explain about all the stress I had been under lately with Pat. He asked me if I had been exercising and I told him yes...I had been riding my bike. He looked at me and said really? I said yup! I ride my bike as often as possible. He asked how far I ride...and I said well doc...last month I rode 1200 miles in just under 24 hrs. The look on his face was priceless...and his assistant? She was in shock. I said...yes, I ride my motorcycle every chance I get. He said what kind of exercise is that? And I said...heck...I had to gas up 10 times!!! That was exercise, don't you agree? It was awhile before they stopped laughing. Then he told me to get a real bike and PEDAL! Or push the one I got....
  15. What kind of trike kit are you doing? Are you doing it or is a dealer doing it for you? Just curious. I have the Hannigan kit and love it. Don
  16. Thanks Buddyrich..those were the ones I was talking about and I sent you a PM. Freebird: I already have that set of lower ones from Diamond R. But thanks for the post anyway. Don
  17. Sorry if this is using the wrong thread category, but I know I read on here somewhere that one of our members made wind reflectors for the knee area. I can't find it and if you know who it is, please let me know so I can contact them. I am really interested in a set. thanks Don
  18. Hey Steve It was a pleasure to help a friend join this website. Certainly worth it in my humble opinion. What is Chuck's screen name? I'll be sure to look him up. $12 a year is a drop in the bucket for the valuable advice / help that is to be found on this website...not to mention the "family" bonds that are formed. However, on the downside...wife says it costs way more than $12 a year. Not sure where she gets that idea..just because I see ideas on here and have to go buy them..hmm...some days she threatens to cut off my internet. Thank goodness she is still working!!! Don
  19. Brad It couldn't have happened to a better guy and a really deserving one. We knew when we first met you at St. Jude's that you were a great friend to all you meet. I know your friend is smiling down on you. Enjoy the ride! Don and Pat
  20. Lewis Just sent the money via paypal. Thanks again for all you do. St. Jude is a worthy cause. We are lucky to have you. Don
  21. Pat and I did the inside passageway on Norwegian Cruise line 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. Would love to go again. That was the 2nd time on Norwegian for us (went Caribbean the first time) so of course we had a discount on the Alaskan trip. We love their ships, they are fairly new and the service couldn't be beat. Couldn't leave our cabin for 5 minutes and the room steward would have it cleaned up. The restaurants were fabulous. Alot of different type menus to choose from. I stayed in the casino alot when cruising, Pat always knew where to find me. this one stops at 4 different ports in Alaska. The only mistake we made was scheduling activities at each one so that by the last stop we were so tired. Wished we had just visited some of the towns and maybe even rented a car to drive ourselves around. I think you can also rent motorcycles in some of the towns. We saw lots of wildlife, aquatic and otherwise. We also got to see a couple of glaciers, even up close. We went in late May and couldnt' have asked for better weather. It was absolutely gorgeous and we never needed the heavy coats / boots / longjohns that we had packed. I would seriously recommend Norwegian Cruise Line. And the inside passage can't be beat. Sorry this is so long...but I wanted to let everyone know how much we love this cruise line. (Can you all tell that Pat is typing this??) Don
  22. At the time that B2dad joined here, our youngest son was in the Air Force and is a B2 pilot...hence...B2dad. He is still in the Air Force but now is a pilot instructor for the T38. The kids liked the name and then all took one on...I am, of course B2mom...then we have B2pilot, B2wife, and B2kids. We had shirts made for all of us and when we all wear them, we really get some looks. A good friend of mine "air brushed" a B2 plane on the back, so hopefully when people see that, they understand the name. We are proud of him and his service to the country. B2MOM (Patti)
