I did not know about Bristol, but our rooms have been booked for awhile. So not a problem there. Hope we can meet up Saturday. We have to head out early Sunday for the next part of trip...going to Myrtle Beach. But have Saturday free if you can make it. Call me or Pat or let us know on FB.

This was posted by Bill on an earlier thread: just some info for those that are planning on attending the meet. the host motel is in the park and looks very nice and is very secluded in the woods. rooms are still available so make reservations as soon as possible. reservation phone no. is, 1-888-637-2632 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-888-637-2632 end_of_the_skype_highlighting. the park website is www.meramecpark.com/ . i have some awesome rides planned. the sightseeing, and activities in this area are endless. plenty of restaurants and a nice one at the gift shop in the park. the park is 3 mi. off i-44 at sullivan missouri. we will take a beautiful ride one day to visit the whineries in historic herman, mo.. the weather this time of the year should be perfect for riding. hope to see some of you folks there. bill YOU CAN CLICK ON THE "CALENDAR" and go to that date and then click on MERAMEC. There you can let Bill know if you are coming and which days. OR...just post back here if you need more info. Would love to have you there. It will be loads of fun and Bill always has some good rides planned. You can go on them or explore on your own. It's alot of good friends and I promise you will have a good time. Oh yeah...it is planned for September 9th, 10th, & 11th. Meramec State Park in Missouri. I think it is in or near Sullivan, MO.

This is B2MOM (signed in as B2Dad)...so glad to hear you will be ok. Please heal quickly...as I have almost filled up my jewelry box and may need another. LOL! Seriously...glad to hear you will be normal again...whatever that may be. I am sure it will be good enough to ride, albeit a few days or maybe longer. Take your time and HEAL!!! And quit talking with a forked thumb! You guys crack me up! Patti:big-grin-emoticon: -
Prayers sent for Lowell. Don and I appreciate the update. Don hopes to see him at the hub next week. Let us know if we can do anything.

We finally made it home late last night. Rode thru just a bit of rain, but saw some awesome rainbows. Took a few backroads thru Indiana and inched our way home. Took longer but it was worth it seeing some beautiful country. Was busy today with "yard" chores...mowing mostly. Hummingbird: Pat says thanks again for the jewelry box and she will do her best to fill it up...at which point she will contact you for another one! Thanks again, it is beautiful. Don

Thanks for asking...we are not home yet. We left the motel this morning after having breakfast with some great friends...then we all went in different directions. Don and I headed out for Michigan to meet with 2 of my sisters....whom I haven't seen in a year. Had a great, albeit short, visit. Then headed to Lake Michigan for another look and a quick stop to put my toes in the sand / water...AND ICE CREAM. THEN we headed home...which as it turned out, was back thru South Bend to Indianapolis. What we encountered was a good rain storm. We managed to get our rainsuits and big helmets on before we ran into it..which was the blessing...because not long into the downpour we experienced something we have never done before... A tanker was coming up very quickly on our left and was passing us as he hit a puddle of water the size of Lake Michigan. Yes, I exaggerate...but that's what it felt like. It was like it was in slow motion and I could see the wall of water coming at us and there was nothing Don could do but hang on and go thru it. For what seemed like an eternity, we could not see anything, but then felt the trike / trailer going sideways (don said it was hydroplaning). I think I screamed...but Don held on and kept us on the road and going in the right direction. (I promised not to scream again). It was like going on a ride at the water park except for two things...IT WAS NOT FUN AND I NEVER WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN!!!! Oh yeah, and Don doesn't either... I guess we were lucky in that it didn't knock one of us off the bike either. The Good Lord was definitely with us today and looking out for us. We were truly blessed. We went as far as Indianapolis and decided to stop for the nite and finish the trip home tomorrow. Sorry this was so long...and THANKS KEVIN for all you did at the Rally. We had a really great time. The best part was meeting up with old friends...and making new friends with some awesome people. This is the best group / family in the world! Hope everyone else makes it home with no problems. We really had the best time! Oh and one more thing...(sorry this is longer)...but we stopped for lunch at a Wendy's / truckstop and a guy came up to us and asked if we had been to Potato Creek. Well, you can imagine my surprise! It turns out he saw our Venture sitting there and he knew about the rally...he said to tell you all HI...IT WAS LUMBERJACK!

Will be praying for you...need to see some pictures when you are well. That is a big transformation. Don't sell yourself short. It's still alot of work! It's a total change in lifestyle and you have to stay committed! So keep up the good work. Don -
Here's to hoping you feel better soon and back riding again. I had a hernia repair around my belly button last year and it took a little while to heal, but finally it's ok. Still got the gall bladder. Take it easy! Don

The first one is of us, B2dad (Don) and B2mom (Patti). The second picture is Midnite (Mike) and his wife Sunshine (Rita).

That's really great to see all the support. It was such a great feeling to be driving. Yes, Don may have to shop for another bike, but that probably won't happen. This is his baby. Thanks Monty for those pics. Hey...I look pretty good huh? LOL!
-
Don finally let me drive the bike, on the way home, pulling the trailer. Woo Hoo!! I actually got it out of 3rd gear. Actually, I got it in 4th AND 5th gear and got it up to 66 mph. Wow! It felt great (after a few minutes of stomach churning and nerves going over the edge). Then there was Don riding behind me and telling me how uncomfortable the passenger seat was. I also didn't realize how much heat comes off the engine on my legs. Will definitely wear long pants and shoes next time I drive. I drove it the last 30 miles to our house and it was quite an experience. I can't wait to drive it to work now...but Don says I have to have more experience before he will let me take it on the highway, which is how I go to work. Will post update when that happens. Anyway..I am in awe of all you female drivers out there. This is great! I was thinking I would just drive it "in case" something happened...but maybe I will look at some bikes. Hmmmmm....

Wanted to also say a special thanks to Freebird and Eileen for hosting another great VR event. Can't wait to book our rooms for next year and we will definitely stay at the Comfort Inn. They made us feel very welcome! Can't beat the rate either! I wanted to say thank you to Rick for doing the seat mod for Pat's seat. She LOVES it! Just rode over 600 miles and she is not sore at all. What a world of difference. We want to say thank you to J Bird for the great pin striping he did on the trike. WOW! So glad I had that done. And a special thank you to our riding partners...Monty and Angel, Midnite and Sunshine (Pat really enjoyed the female companionship), Double D (we won't tell anyone how you got your name...no matter what the WAITRESS thought!), Wanderer (yes Ted there is a Quaker Steak in Elyria, not just in Cleveland!), and last but not least to ScaryLarry...ummm....thanks for the comic relief! Will hold off on the blackmail for now...but look for some pictures being posted in the near future...hahahahahahaha!!! Can't begin to tell you all how much fun we had. Looking forward to the next VR event in Potato Creek, IN. Don and Patti

Thanks Don and Eileen for another great time. Thanks for opening your home up to so many "family" members. As others have said, it was great to connect with those we haven't seen since last year and to meet so many new ones. WE will always be grateful to you for starting this site, for starting this wonderful family...for giving us the opportunity to make such wonderful & lasting friendships. Can't wait to see you all at the International Rally in Indiana in a few weeks. Hope to make it home tomorrow...was great that it didn't rain...but whew...the HEAT!!! Don and Patti
