B2dad thought up our names...it comes from our son, Jason, who some of you know (he used to have a crotch rocket). He is a B2 pilot in the Air Force...so we are B2dad and B2mom. We also have a painting of his B2 on the back of the trike. Quite a conversation piece when we make stops. As a side note...he is currently on his way home from Afghanistan. Should be back home in a couple of days.

  3. It was brutal and we are so very glad we made it home last nite. Had my doubts a couple times, right Midnite?
  4. Sorry I didn't post last nite...was really tired. Had some drama today too, but will post that later. As Midnite said, we were all very touched by this experience and so very glad to see the ones that could join us for the tour. We understand not everyone could make it but you support this cause in other ways. Can't wait for next year...and the challenge is on, right Lewis? Don:thumbsup:
  5. We can meet you at the rest area just past Jackson (exit 80) at 9 am. I am not sure what exit the rest area is at, but we will be getting on I 40 at exit 80 and I know it's just a few miles past that. If we leave there around 9 am we should be able to make it to the Flying J by 11 to meet up with the rest of the group. You are more than welcome to come here to our house and ride with us, Monty and Midnite from here. Whatever you want to do. See if you can talk ScaryLarry into riding with you? Don
  6. Pat and I are going, as Midnite said. If anyone wants to meet up with us, let us know. We can meet here at our house that morning or for those riding in on I-40 from Nashville, we can meet at the first rest stop past Jackson going towards Memphis. Anyone needing a place to stay before or after are welcome here too. We have two extra bedrooms. Dragonrider...will be good to see you again! Can't wait to see everyone. Don
  7. I get about the same as Bongobob. Anywhere from 23-27 mostly with 2 up. I have had a low of 21, guess that's when I am mostly pushing it on the hwy. Had a high of 35 when I rode at 35 mph on a scenic road for over an hour. Probably won't do that again. LOL! Don
  8. If you are thinking of a trike conversion, Hannigan is my favorite. Mostly due to the independent suspension. I don't need reverse. As Carbon One stated, you learn where to park. They roll really easy so mostly it's not a problem anyway. AND if you have to push it, it still rolls pretty easily. OR bring the wife / better half. They are good for a push, lol. I have had mine triked for over a year now and will never regret my decision. I absolutely love it. AND it looks great. It's a great conversation starter and wherever I stop, almost always someone comes over and talks to me about it. Snarley Bill and Colesgrandpaw rode mine this weekend around the parking lot at Meramec. I think they liked it. The BAD thing I will tell you about a trike conversion is that you will lose gas mileage. I lost about 10-15% on mine. Not sure what the others lost. I do ride hard. I still recommend it tho. Don
  9. Sorry you missed it, but totally understand. Dad comes first and the rain was not fun to ride in. We will be praying for your dad. Hope everything goes ok. We plan on going to St. Jude's next month also, so look forward to seeing you there.
  10. Got home a couple hours ago. Thanks Bill and Linda for a great time! We sure enjoyed meeting up with you and the others. Great to see old friends and meet some new ones. Here are some pics: http://s760.photobucket.com/albums/xx247/pellis99/Meramec%202010/
  11. Tripod: This is b2dad and b2mom on their trike. Be glad to answer any questions you have. Don
  12. Bill a have both sides and you can have them if you want just give me a call or pm me.
  13. Sorry to hear the bad news. Glad you are working tho, makes it bittersweet. You and your family are in our prayers!
  14. All I had to do was take one lap around the parking lot (never got the trike out of 1st gear). Otherwise...I would NOT have an M endorsement! whew!!
  15. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing you and Linda and having fun at Meramec. Sounds like you have made some great plans and a fun time will be had by all!!
  16. So sorry to hear about the bike...but so very glad you and Mrs Squid are ok. That is the main thing. The bike can be replaced... Hope you heal quickly and find a new ride. give my best to Mrs. Squid.
  17. Can't wait Bill! Sounds good. You got anything else planned for us? Rides, games, food...etc?
  18. Hey Eck.. We are leaving VA around 5 or so in the morning. It's about 400 miles I think and depending on the weather, we should be there by 5 or so. Will call you or locate the Red Roof Inn. Hope we have a good group. Don't care where we eat...as long as it's good, lol! We have put almost 2000 miles on the trike since last Friday. Been a great trip overall...C ya soon! Say hi to Konnie. Can't wait to see her again and catch up with what's happening...and visit with everyone else coming. It's great to see the ladies come too. Patti
  19. We will be in Pigeon Forge sometime Friday. We are currently in Virginia, leaving Friday morning heading to Pigeon Forge for two nights. Would like to meet up with you all maybe for dinner Friday night. We are already booked at Laurel Creek Resort but will call you when we get there, Eck. I have your cell that you gave me when you came to our meet in May. If it's different than that, let me know. We have tentative dinner plans with some other friends Saturday night...but may be able to do some riding earlier in the day on Saturday. Let me know where you all are meeting Friday or I will call you when we get to to PF. Don and Patti
  20. Don and I couldn't be enjoying our trip so much if it wasn't for the seat mods you did for us. Thanks again Rick! We sure hope your trip is a great one! Post pics please Patti and Don
  21. Our favorite stop...DQ!! Then a view from our balcony... View from the Smoky mountains...
  22. Nighthawk II: Sorry we missed you. True the traffic was THICK! You probably couldn't have caught Don no matter what. LOL! He's fast on the trike! Monty: No big deal about the oil line / gauge. Like I said earlier, it was just lucky that we caught it at home and not on the road. We have been extremely lucky on that so far. Made it to Myrtle Beach this afternoon. It rained a little in Gatlinburg as we were leaving this morning. We missed having breakfast with ScaryLarry. After the rain quit, the sun came out and it got very hot out. We ordered pizza delivered to our room here cause it was thundering and the clouds were rolling in...figured it was going to cut loose any second. Oh well...needed to rest up after traveling. Us old folks can't keep going without a break I think. Maybe tomorrow I can put my toes in the ocean...been awhile since I got to do that. Oh yeah..and Don let me start the bike and pull it around to where he was talking with some guys and their bikes at the resort yesterday. Everytime I ask to drive, he says no. Oh well. Maybe I don't really want to drive in all the traffic yet...???? There are some crazy people out there..for sure!
  23. Today was the first day of our 10 day vacation...up at 4 am, promising Don I would be ready and out the door by 5...well I was! Unfortunately, the bike decided it didn't want to leave that early... Don had started the bike, pulled it out of the garage with trailer attached and was letting it warm up in the driveway when all of a sudden smoke started billowing out. He starts bending down to see what is causing the smoke when we see oil pouring out the bottom of the bike. Couldn't see exactly where it was coming from because of the running boards on the trike. I begin hollering to turn the bike off cause it's smoking and blowing oil....Don has a flashlight trying to see where the oil is coming from...CHAOS! We end up unloading the gear out of the bike and put it on the trailer to haul to our mechanic / dealer when he opens at 8. Playing the "waiting game" really bites. Don calls our mechanic (his number is on his speed dial) and tells him the problem. Woody promptly thinks it's a joke because Don is being so calm about it!! We are there before they open and Woody finds the problem right off...the oil line to the new gauges has busted open. I think this is the second time. To get us on the road, Woody puts a plug in it and we don't have an oil gauge now. End of story? NOT!! Now we have to go back home (about 30 mile trip) to get the trailer and hook it up again and reload the bike...head back the way we just come...and now his MP3 player quits. Stop at Radio Shack and they trade us for a new one...AGAIN...(this is #3). On the road again...trying to get to Gatlinburg, TN for 2 nights. Stop for lunch and guess how much it comes to? $13.13! LOL! Lucky number right? We finally make it to our hotel...hot and tired. We hit two traffic jams and that is the nice thing about a trike...you don't have to balance it waiting on traffic to move. It was at least 95 out there today, actual temp. but you know what? We MADE IT!! That is twice now that the bike has "quit" working...the morning of a trip...right at home. The last time, just a few weeks ago, it was the fuel pump. Beats having something wrong AFTER you leave home and are on the road, right? Hope y'all have a great day tomorrow. We are!
  24. Sorry too to hear of your troubles. It was great riding with you in June to Freebird's. Don and I hate to hear of your troubles and like the others, we would like to help too. If we can help you make a payment to stave off "Yamaha", let us know. We have ALL been in your shoes at one time or another and know exactly how it feels. We are all family here and will jump in when and where it is needed. So...talk to the company and see what they want and then let us know. Take care Patti and Don
  25. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime. We can't wait to meet you, either at Don's or in Cody..or both. And as Monty said, you have a place here in TN if you get this way. Our house is very friendly (no steps) and we have two extra bedrooms with bathrooms...so you say the word and they are yours and Quicksteps. We are a short drive to Nashville / Memphis (either way...) You can see lots of things in Nashville (home of Country Music) or visit Elvis' home, Graceland, in Memphis. Be glad to give you the grand tour... OR..if you just need a place to "veg" out and recuperate...this is it. Quiet, peaceful in the country...with lots of amenities...Sound good yet? LOL! Either way...can't wait to meet you. Patti :dancefool::dancefool:
