  1. Looks like you beat out Eck, for coming up with an alternate bike turntable, to the commercial one I posted previously. You beat the suggested budget of $100. (in CAD yet), I like the bearing setup too. I was told of an even quicker cheap method the other day, but a centre stand is required. 2 pizza pans 1 @ 10", 1 @ 12", a little oil in 12 pan for lube, put smaller pan on top. push down on rear end to bring front tire off of ground & walk around with it, rotating the bike. There is a person that does this with his goldwing, but he changes out the pans every year.
  2. Little Bob, you have it partly right from my understanding, that & clearances are too tight between the meshing gear teeth. Or put another way the teeth are meshing too deep, making it noisier than it should be.
  3. I think there will problems with the compressor timing out (for compressor motor protection), giving an E3 error. Remember these units are designed for very small air quanities & not tire filling. But if it was to be done, it would need to be tapped into the rear shock line (higher pressure). This would take such a long time, to fill / top up a tire where it is not pratical under normal conditions. But may possibly be good enough, to continue re-inflating a tire after plugging it & after exhausting available CO2 cartriges, in the middle of nowhere.
  4. I don't think so, but others will have more knowledge on this.
  5. Normally, the circlips are slid up the tube to remove them (after the air fittings). As the tube is slid down, to remove it.
  6. I'm not sure on the wheel idea. Possibly too much side strain on the legs, while moving the lift & bike. Not every surface where it can be used, would be completely smooth or clean for that matter.
  7. Info in our Tech Library http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1063
  8. I have my doubts on this one myself, you may be able to get a longer mic arm. This option may not be cost effective though. But JM-HS-BCD257-UN works very nicely with my flip face helmet. It is designed to work with open, full & modular. The mic arm mounts on the inside of the helmet. Normally a headset comes out of a helmet, for replacement of one or the other, not swapping back & forth..
  9. Only for trailers, because they tend to get loaded down & heavy to lift by hand.
  10. Rick, that is a rule of thumb for most normal vehicles, it boils down to braking capacity & frame design for loads. Other factors are also included as well.
  11. Rick, I think others had missed it too. But you were the only one commented, on as if it was rickb that went down. If you had gone for the officer trg, they would have to give you a frontal lobotomy as well, just so you would fit in with the others.
  12. Very good info, keep on lookout for more, please. You may need the larger print to start, to indicate that it was not your accident.
  13. Sure you were not officer material, Rick???? :stirthepot:
  14. Rick, you mis-read the start of the post:bang head: . I have put it in bold above & enlarged it, so you might be able to see it.

  16. 90201-252k4 was the part # at time of writing, the (170-16154-02) is an OLD part#. Part # sometimes change, for different reasons, improved part for an example.
  17. Yes, the 1300 cc engines, do not need the second gear fix. Just thought of something, could there be a difference in the CDN & USA part #, as that write up was done in BC Canada.
  18. From a second gear fix pdf 5A8-17529-00 Washer Thrust (2 required) 90201-252K4 Washer Plate (170-16154-02) These numbers are on page #8 from the 1st list, of the parts listings I am enclosing the pdf I printed, as it seems easier to read (to me) than the current page. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=508 Also check the parts listing for a 85 or 86 venture as these will have the updated parts needed.
  19. Check our classifieds section out & also check ebay, you can find some there from time to time, condition varies though...... New ones are about $140. Each

  23. Brad, one with map & auto routing features, comes in handy. It will guide you through cities, to addresses & even lists resturants (important for this group). For some of these features (address & Points Of Interest listings) you will need the compatable auto routing capable software to put on your computer & transfer to the GPS. Normally the GPS comes pre-loaded with a base map only. I had found in my crash during the summer, that the RAM Mount, held the GPS securely in its place. I had removed it from it's mount on the bike, after I got out of hospital, before being driven back to CFB Wainwright.
  24. That is for the 1st Gen, he still lists for the second gen. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if it is possible to modify a 2nd gen mount for use on a 1st Gen. Not practical for me to try, as I ride mostly solo.
