I had bolted Charlies old mk2 seat on my mk1, after recovering only. The back portion of the handgrips are close to the seat, but will just clear. A small portion of the seat corners will press on the mk1 trunk too. The only downside that I can see, is not being able to remove the trunk without removing the seat first.

I had to print off a copy at work, after my supervisor saw it, as he wanted a hard copy, it was shown around the shop. It was pointed out by a few, that some young children have a knack to embarrass adults, with the way they say things. BTW It got a chuckle here, from all that read it. Prompted a story from one, on how her 2 yr old (at that time) son had embarrassed her husband before, in a public washroom.

I have recently tried the single bulb version of this setup, on my 83 VR http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/headlight-modulator/dual-modulator.htm & found that the bike thinks high beam is burnt out. -
Don't think he could handle living in our area, soggy riding all through most of the winter. But then he can't ride in the winter, but then I can't this winter (being in alberta)

Flatout MC has the console panel listed for $31.56 new. -
Not sure myself, but it felt great to be back on the scoot (even without any front fairing), after taking out a deer with it. Would have been back on it sooner, but needed the waterpump to thermostat coolant tube first.

I had cut off the outward portion from the vertical tabs, used longer bolts with lock nuts. The upper part of the mounts are different, from the early ones & you may come up with a different method. But this was my quick & dirty solution to the mounting differences.

Still waiting for internet hookup, in my room at the barracks & have limited time at work to check the site. -
Charlie made his own in another thread & I think this will qualify, as a "whine". "Looking to purchase Winter tires. for my scoot .Winter came in early:crying: ". In fairness, I must say that I had to scrape frost off the bike, the other morning, before riding it.

I second that motion (Agree), for Mini Muffin to work on it.

Not that I am aware of on frames, but you can run a VIN check on any warranty fixes, at the dealer. I did it last year on my 83.

As I said on the phone there are a pair of pins that need to have a jumper on the din connector that goes to the cassette deck (if there is no cassette deck installed). Who knows which pins need the jumper??? The factory sound system had CB as an Option, same with the intercom & intercom is easy to add, see these threads for more info Use the search tab above & look for YV-41 to get these threads.

83' front brake problem
Rocket replied to sgn's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Maybe try to find new seals at a Hydraulic supply shop. Of course the caliper will need to be split, for sizing & have the old ones with you too. Get one or a complete a set of calipers 1st, so far the supply has been good & they are usually cheap on ebay. I like to have a spare set to have for re-building, with as little downtime as possible & no pressure to rebuild as fast as possible to get back on the scoot. -
I will be putting in a combination headlight modulator & relay soon (after it arrives), it will be interesting to see if low beam will be better at night, drawing from the battery Vs the normal wiring harness. Then, might try other bulbs too. Here is a link to what I am putting in http://www.comagination.com/relay-kit-headlight-modulator.htm
