For me, I had included meeting a California member touring my area, Carl's meet. I did not include meeting up with Sailor,, as he is located in my general area.

Plastic Repair
Rocket replied to CrazyHorse's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Check with Black Owl, for some ball studs to replace them with. It is an easy way to replace any broken pins. I used nylon lock nuts on my ball studs, when I installed them. -

Did you forget about the exhaust gaskets, between the collector & the new exhaust pipes??? -
Another bike called, Brown Sugar??????? The other one I know of, belongs to Skid. But enjoy your trip home, on your new scoot. 03-25-2007, 05:35 PM Parts Bike??? Are You Nuts??? I was really touched last June when a bunch of old Gezzers came up with a bike to use for parts to repair my "BLUE BEAST" I can't say Thank You enough. It made my time on my back easier to deal with. After getting to look at my bike I do not think it can be repaired. No one wants to take the blame for calling the bike I rode for 200 miles today a parts bike. The more I go the smoother it gets. Won't take Skid's Brown Sugar yet but She had to hurry and get out of the way today when my throttle stuck. I guess Skid thought I wanted to race. I just want to know who called the "BLUE BEAST ll" a parts bike? Again THANKS. This bike is starting to show a lot of promise and "Brown Sugar" had better start working out!!!

This is still a work in progress, but this year's was in early/mid June at Ft Collins.

Could a few of you with the Mk1 (early model) Ventures, please do some electrical readings at the headlight plug. What I am trying to determine, is mine the only one with power on the low beam, in addition to the high beam. With my results below, no wonder my high beam is so bright. I want to install a headlight modulator / relay on my 83VR. It works great on the low beam side, but have nothing on high beam due to excessive low beam voltage also present, shutting the unit off. I have tested the unit on another bike (83 750 Maxim) & it works great. My Voltage readings was as follows, at the bikes headlight plug. Switch on Low Beam Low output 11.8V High output 3.58V Switch on High Beam Low output 10.54V High output 11.49V I probably should look inside the switch, as well, to check things there too.

Oil Filter Change
Rocket replied to r_squared432's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You should put it in, between the closed end of the housing & the filter. There is no need to drain all the oil, just pull the filter housing, with a catch container below (as you will lose some oil). Remove the filter, put in the spring & then the filter back in. Re-install the filter housing, top up the oil. -
It was -8 degrees C when I rode the scoot, to work this morning. Not too much frost on the seat. I read the forum after PT (during lunch break), before heading back to work for the afternoon.

Probably, would be a good idea to put the DOT label back on, otherwise could be a potential problem , if some police officer thinks it is not approved.
-
You lost it long ago (probably when you got the 2nd gen)...........:stirthepot:
-
Yup, they are not as solid as the 1st gens. As far as I know he only wrecked one, that was by being rear ended...........
-
Same here............

I was thinking more along the lines as a winter scoot, will need studded tires on it.......
