  1. Yammer, looking at the left front carb, you should see a small brass tube sticking out at an angle. It is just to the right of the main diaphram & about same level as the lower cover screws, in the main body of the housing. If it is in this location, you should have 83 carbs.
  2. No hunting is required......... Just click on the little blue box, right after the name in the quote & it will take you right to the post quoted........
  3. You stuttered...... Now get to work on the scoot.
  4. In a previous thread recently, there was a brace shown with slots machined in, to allow drainage from the bolt holes onto the surface adjoining the fork tubes.
  5. What was he eating before, to give him the needed boost.......:stirthepot::rotf:
  6. The bike is off base in a friends garage, I am not going to try & talk someone into driving a Leopard tank into town for a pic.
  7. One slight problem for me, can't move the scoot........ Due to a recent blizzard.......
  8. Yes the will unscrew out of the air collars, on the fork tubes. The collars them selves are sealed to the fork tubes by O rings.
  9. Also check the sensor wiring & connectors, it could be be damaged wires or dirty contacts, with possible intermittant conection. Remember there are floats on the sensors, a low float level will trigger the sensor. As you can see the sensor wires pass through the bottom of the unit. As for the CMS it is a possibility, should be checked regardless.
  10. Remember from the previous thread, this is not a "Super Brace", as this is from a different mfr.
  11. Just scroll down this page, you will see similar threads. It is the shift pin retainer, that causes it.
  12. Don't count on it....... Forecast here is more snow on tues & thursday, probably similar down in Calgary as well.
  13. Mini twin on the sides & twin on the back end.
  14. Look at this thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19833
  15. At least it is only rain for you, it's started snowing again today. So I did a trip to Edmonton today, in the truck. Plus this (below) as well..... Warnings Lloydminster - Wainwright - Vermilion - Provost 9:39 PM MDT Saturday 19 April 2008 Blizzard warning for Lloydminster - Wainwright - Vermilion - Provost continued Blizzard conditions and heavy snow expected for Sunday and Monday. An intense low pressure system currently developing over Montana is forecast to track northeast slowly towards southern Saskatchewan. This slow moving storm will bring periods of snow to east-central Alberta beginning tonight. Snow will become heavy at times by Sunday morning. Latest indications suggest that 30 to 50 centimetres of snow can be expected by Monday evening along the Saskatchewan Alberta border. In addition as the low pressure system moves into southern Saskatchewan on Sunday strong northerly winds will develop on the western edge of the system generating blizzard conditions in open areas. Eastern sections of the Leduc and Fort Saskatchewan will see widespread poor visibilities due to blowing snow.
  16. Hopefully, this is the end of it & nothing else crops up within him. He needs to get better to get back on the scoot............
  17. Yup, that is what he meant.........
  18. Rear coils to rear cylinders on same side, same with front coils. Make sure there is a good tight contact, between the wire core & connectors on each end. Also check TCI & coil plug in connectors for clean contacts. There could be other issues, for the bike not running, but this gives you a starting point.
  19. The front fairings is interchangable, I think the 86 has the newer type headlight (Mk2). BTW headlight change is NOT required, but provides better lighting, than the Mk1 (early models).
  20. I was talking with a friend tonight about this. He has a severe case of MBD (currently 8). He figures that the tire was not seated properly by the installer, as in not taking it up to max pressure to seat the bead, then reducing down to running pressure. This will be worth checking on newly installed tires.
  21. If it is the same, as what I had before, right after a new rear tire was installed. As the back end was swaying, about 3 feet side to side at higher speeds. The dealer put the stock tire pressure in (as I discovered later), increasing pressure didn't stop it. But the tire wearing in did, as in being flater in the center area of the tread.

    73 Venture

There is no 73 Venture, the first year was 83.
  23. All the plastex I used, went on the bike....... Plus a little on the steering column trim of a friends truck.
  24. Much better than in the pics & my memory from Carl's last year...... Did you see a plastic surgeon or just used Plastex........ :rotf:
  25. Is it even plugged in??? The light is 2 seperate wires aside from the main plug to the controller. As for links for the repair of the controller, if it has power & showing an error code. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493
