  1. From my understanding, it keeps the hole in the bolt from plugging up, read the section on cooling kit, there is a diagram on the 2nd page. Maybe removed by previous owners, not knowing its purpose????
  2. Did she say what size??? Maybe get her a scale model of one.... Prepare to duck afterwards.....
  3. I am a tentative at this time, it is still slightly possible that my leave will be canceled. We are short handed at this time, for drivers to support all the courses, that go on here. Will update, once I get a better idea, of the situation.
  4. Thanks for the "heads up" on this, Don.......
  5. Glad to see that you pulled it out, but the ebay listings link, has been there about a year (or more). :rotf:
  6. I'll have to agree, Squid.............
  7. Even though this is BS, I like it.......... Good one, Squeeze.

    Got Milk?

Kind of sounds like something Yammer would pull.

It is indeed the first one off the production line.... Your pic of the frame serial # had just confirmed it. Your # is listed in the O.E.M. Service Manual as the first one................. Yamaha may have, kept the last pre-production bike, for their collection...
  11. It's not a 2nd gen, those listed are not a proper fit, for a 1st gen. Try ebay, I saw some on the other day. Or $$$ for new ones, from a dealer.

By the O.E.M. service manual, on page 1-1...... 000101 is the first production #
  13. I'm wondering, about the possibility, of bent fork tubes. Hopefully not though.
  14. Thought it's time for a bump....
  15. Turn off fuel at valve, unbolt the fuel pump mount, move it out of the way (dangling to create an opening). There is a screw holding the filter mount to the tank, above the filter inlet hose. Remove hose from filter inlet, remove screw & pull out filter & mount, for filter replacement. Install in reverse order.
  16. I doubt it...... It's called putting in time........
  17. If I remember correctly, a 1 & 3/16" socket is a good fit (mine is a 6 point socket)..... Remember to torque to specs on re-assembly.
  18. 15/16 bolt size http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6875 Or as others have previously done, a wooden broom handle, used to hold the dampner rod. I'm not sure, but think a second pair of hands is required.
  19. Yup, I have seen his skills first hand........ But Rick had previously said something to the effect, that Marilyn's wrenching skills were better.:rotf:
  20. Ok, never seen it listed seperately, was previously told by dealers that to get it, I needed to get the entire kit. Maybe a difference, in the year to year parts diagrams, like the upper fork tube bushings????
  21. You need to buy the entire OEM tool kit to get the gauge (about $180). Fill to bottom of threads on filler plug opening (with bike on centerstand) & you are good. Or you can do a measured pour 300 ML.
  22. Here is a link, of one replacement unit, that you can use. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/p01.htm
  23. Or stuff him with cheesecake (not hard), he will be too stuffed to escape the spit......:rotf: Oh, a 4 legged pig is going on the spit..... Disregard, my comment above........:rotf:
  24. Can you hear the air being released???? If you turn the key off, then back on it will show no pressure (after power up display) until you select front or rear, to get a reading from.
  25. What is gone on the shock?? Progressive suspension makes a replacement spring for the Royales. Here is a link for a ebay dealer, that I'm pleased with, I have had multiple dealings with him. http://stores.ebay.com/Marys-Motorcycle-Parts-and-More_YAMAHA-VENTURE-ROYALE_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ11QQftidZ2QQtZkm
