  1. Yup, who ever did this, screwed up big time............... The white plastic is supposed to fit into a groove in the damper rod, just below the top of it. The OEM springs are very short compared to the progressives (as you have seen).
  2. I'm not sure which of the four cables, you are changing (upper or lower). But remember there is a cable connection block on the left side. The inner & outer left fairing, needed to be off to get at it, due to it's location.
  3. Chase him down with a faster scoot, a Mk1............. :rotfl:
  4. Do we have a "Buster", as in the mythbusters type...... If you keep doing stuff like this, we will need to change your name.........
  5. Takes a bit, to wring the water out of the packets & dry them out...... It took a long time when I first got back from work, but back to normal now.

    Hey GaryN

Now that you put it that way, probably not.............:rotf:
  7. We now know why he is on a 2nd gen, to keep his speed down.... :rotf:
  8. The trick is the snap ring & air suspension collars, unless you don't want to use the air system. For a 1st gen, the best way would be a new set of aftermarket fork tubes, made 1" (or so) shorter than stock & leave the spring spacers out. The company that can make these, is referred as Forking by Frank, great service too, will build over length or shorter if requested. The only hangup with them is payment options, as they seem to prefer Postal money orders, from Canada. http://www.frankmain.qpg.com/ The other option is to leave the spacer out on the set of progressive springs, with the existing tubes. But that still leaves the slight possibility of bottoming out, with a very hard compression of the front end.
  9. Gather up your whips & get over there...........:rotf:
  10. I know I forgot the sleeve on mine, normal sleeve.
  11. Glad you got his attention & back into his lane.......
  12. Perhaps, they were thinking it was added to the oil??? In that useage, yes it needs to be changed, with only a few minutes running time, if I am correct. But for fuel use, no oil change is needed.
  13. I was thinking of a shotgun, with rocksalt loads, that should get their attention............
  14. Yup, slide the false tank forward. Make sure you pull fwd at the front end with one hand, as you do not want to break the mounting tab. I usually have my other hand, pushing, at the front of the filler opening. BTW you sit on top of the gas tank.........
  15. Ah yes, the pond monsters, this weekend..........:rotf:
  16. Check this out, for the E4 fix............ http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493

  20. Ok, no error codes......... You may need to dig further into the unit & check / clean the switches. I had done mine last year & improved the performance of a temperamental one. I had used Q tips & rubbing alcohol, to clean things.
  21. I think the difference, between them, is only the brake rotors.
  22. Tempting, isn't that right Don. 93 Venture, even provided you with an excuse......... :mo money::rotf:
