  1. You could jump to the output side of the solinoid (witch is mounted to the left side of the battery box (be carefull not to ground out to the frame). The starter itself is attached to the upper case half, at forward portion of Cylinder #2 (left front) below the exhaust pipe.
  2. There has been no comments on the forum, but with the type of shirt you wore, you looked the wettest, even though, you both got equally drenched......
  3. Flatout is listing at $17.92 each & the rubber seals for the retention bolts are $1.65 each (16 of these total)
  4. Not at some CDN dealers they want $25. each. That is why I have been ordering at Flatout, to get away from the gouging.....
  5. Now about 20 miles away from Grandpagak's place, will hit there tomorrow. When I can look for it in daylight............
  6. I did, as I bought the one Sarges46, had for his 1st gen (in March). I need to get some stiching on the seat done, before installing it.
  7. Yup the jacket pockets are loaded as per normal... spot emergency locator, wallet, case for sunglasses, smokes & lighter, money for toll bridges, ID for border crossings (last 2 in easier acess pocket instead of digging wallet out).
  8. Max was fine, before he was put into the bedroom with you....... Guess he was put in there to prevent him from escapeing with me:stirthepot:. As he was wanting all the attention, he could get, I noticed he only went to you for food........ Still haven't left the motel yet, need coffee first.............
  9. Seeing Squidley in spandex, would not be a pleasant sight at all.......... Now that I seared that image into your minds:rotf:, it is time to get ready, to get back on the road, heading west.
  10. Would you have preffered, that I called you 2 a pair of drowned rats........... Well guess I'd better get off of this so Dray & I can go for a ride.
  11. Only one scoot had to be trailered back to rally HQ, due to breakdown / component failure. It was "Gunboat's" 2nd gen. Some of us here, got him up & going eventually, after finally determining the problem (with a couple of loaner parts tried). The 6 month old, dry cell battery, had crapped out on him.
  12. Look in the rally thread, I posted pics on thursday morning...........
  13. It is supposed to keep the hole in the bolt from plugging. I had attached a PDF in a thread months ago, if you have time to look in my posts, go for it. As I will be on the road soon, with Sarges46 & Big Bob.
  14. I have been thinking on a trailer, but no hitch on the scoot yet (been waiting for a receiver type hitch to be produced).... Hint hint Beer30, time for an update soon....... Spare set of spark plugs do not take much room, Brad..........

    Safe travels

I did the first leg of my trip yesterday, I am now at Sarges46 place.
  16. Maybe, this is the cause of your problem.
  17. AllanH & I are staying at the Victoria Motel. I just looked at their site & no mention of internet, hopefully I won't be suffering, from VR Site withdrawl too badly........
  18. The O rings inside stick pretty good, I use a brass drift & hammer to tap them up and off (from below).
  19. Ignition switch comes to mind. The ignition switch usually lasts much longer than this though.
  20. You did not say if the Venture is a Standard (no OEM radio), or a Royale (OEM radio installed & intercom capable). If it is the Royale, with the OEM radio setup, you will most likely need the interface cables to hook up the intercom, as that was an option for these bikes. See this thread for more info. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20544
  21. Possibly cold solder joints on the CMS, look at the attached PDF, for how to check & repair.
  22. Remember with these units, it is only slow speed & in city towing, not across the state or longer.
  23. If the Mk1 upper tubes are good, why not use them, as I believe the difference is in the lower legs (caliper mounts & anti dive).
  24. He could add on, chromed flotation tanks, so it won't sink into the depths of the pond.......... :mo money:
