  1. I think for the time being, we will keep the Friesman1 copy in Canada. I will try to see "Abby" here in Wainwright, about viewing & practicing it, before it leaves the area. I just need to catch him on shift, at the base fire hall. So you other Canucks, get on the list, before it heads stateside.......
  2. Forget the soon, sounds like you don't have a choice now. Better start looking for one......
  3. Nope, 5 buck donation to this fine site, per drop.................:mo money:
  4. Nah, send Yamma Mamma, to whip him into shape.................:rotf:
  5. That will also probably be Friesman1, heading to Ventureswest soon.:stirthepot:
  6. I had suggested to the Yamaha Canada reps at the rally, the ability to have either footing position, that could be an option. Now it is wait & see what happens.
  7. Including to the rotor itself $$$$$$. I'm not positive on some specifics with the 2nd gens, but I'd say you would have to unbolt the right rear saddle bag to get at the rotor & caliper. Remove rear caliper from its mount point (do not dis-connect the brake line), push the caliper pistons back into the housing, after loosening the rear master cylinder cover (allowing air & exess fuild to flow out). I normally use waterpump pliers, with a cloth between the jaw & finished surface of the caliper housing & do it with the old pads still in place. Replace the pads & start re-installing & tighten master cylinder cover.
  8. The 2nd gear fix, is the same components, as was put into the Vmax & probably the Mk2 (1300). That is, after they figured out where they screwed up, in the first place. No you didn't throw $400 away, a lot will interchange just fine, compared to a 2nd gen engine.
  9. Slightly more mass to move internally (larger engine pistons), they played with the carbs & ignition systems some. The de-tuning begins with the Mk2 & even more with the 2nd gen. If you haven't noticed, the Vmax was based on the Venture 1200 engine, stayed at 1200 for over 20 years, did not change it over to 1300, yet they could have done it. Now if you really want that to fly, put a Vmax motor into it.

    SeaFoam?

NAPA is usually a good source, look at bottom of this page for more Seafoam threads.
  11. Progressive suspension, for the fork springs & a replacement rear shock. There will be other makes too, I think.
  12. Nope, you will not find it there, but you will find the compressor for the CLASS, below the trunk mount, under a black cover. Other work to be done there at a later time (drying out the dessicant). The CB is in the right fairing & there is a cable that connects it to the amp in the left fairing.

  17. Scroll further down, towards bottom of this page for similar threads, it will give you ideas on what to check.
  18. I had no problem getting a printout on mine, only took a couple of minute at the service desk...... Yeah they would probably laugh, at a free fix, but the bike most likely had it done, as well as brake pads changed under warranty.
  19. But with the eyes open & being able to comprehend what is written............ But if your eyesight is going, maybe time to move to something slower, like a 2nd gen.

    Got Stalked.

I handed out a couple cards on my way back, one in Bay City, one at a fuel stop on hwy 11, after leaving Regina. Aside from the one I wrote a note to Squid & left on his door.
  21. It can be checked by vin, at a dealer to see what fixes has been done. If an affected bike has not been done, try it, nothing really to lose, cost wise.
  22. How about just soaking in water, peeling a little off at a time.
  23. It was a tech bulletin item with a new stator also installed. It was performed, as a warranty fix, no matter if bike was still under warranty or not. All bikes in affected year(s), was to be done.
  24. Maybe look in your creek crossing area. As that may put stress on, that it was not designed for.
  25. I saved the info on the CMS Fix as a PDF, it is in this thread....... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=220464#post220464
