  1. You guys forgot the other, simpler possibility, waterpump seals. Maybe time for a re-build of the waterpump, as it is gear driven. There is no info in the profile, on which year the bike is & for all we know, it may have the fiber type impeller in it (which should be replaced).
  2. Putting braided lines on a Mk1, with standard brake calipers, helps a lot. Much faster stopping, than with the old lines, without the hassle of changing the lower forks, calipers & pads, rotors. With the braking performance I have now, I wouldn't bother changing out those items.
  3. Same here, put just over 10,000 Km on them in the last month & a half.
  4. Also the cost of a new one isn't bad.......... At least over here, not sure about in your location.
  5. I wouldn't want the anti-seize there (contamination of the brake fluid), but if you physically check the fluid level periodically, that problem should not occur & tightening until just snug, is also good.
  6. Sounds like great news, good to hear..............
  7. Better than your local dealer http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/fiche_section_select.asp?fveh=4522&section=198901&category=Motorcycles&dc=1620&year=1983&make=Yamaha&model=XVZ12TK&tiercode=&packprice=False DIAPHRAGM 41R-14940-09-00 (replaces 41R-14940-00-00) $66.89 DIAPHRAGM ASSY (with spring) 99999-01536-00 $76.79
  8. Look up above the valve cover, at the right front of the engine (#3 cylinder), about the same level as the bottom of the upper fairing. There is a metal housing with the temp sensor, fan switch threaded in & a ground connector between 2 hoses. Clean the ground connection too.....
  9. Would you expect anything different, from this group..... No, I didn't think so.....
  10. I like it.........:rotfl::rotfl:
  11. Ok, I'm now back in Wainwright & found out I will be mostly out in the field again, for the next 3 weeks.... So I may not have much time, to get on site for a while.
  12. Yes, thanks for the update. I'm also guessing, that the Blue Cross travel, is only illness & maybe covers stuff that is not covered provincially, as it could be an extended coverage. Time to read & understand the fine print, when getting additional coverage.....
  13. Agreed on most, but the rooster (not supposed to eat a bunch of deep fried stuff). I had put the rooster on "ignore" & went back to sleep everyday. Maybe I can do this, due to my work enviroment at times. With course staff setting off different kinds of pyro, to get the candidates into overdrive (under attack secenarios). I'm not back yet, but now back in Canada. It was soggy & windy during yesterdays ride. Will be back in Wainwright tomorrow, back to work on Friday. As was discussed some, maint time on both Sat & Sun, those that want to ride can & those that want to tinker, will be able to as well. :thumbsup2:
  14. He actually did a short ride (was gone a few minutes), after I synced his carbs, on Sunday. Then he wanted it changed back "too much power"...... I also had to make sure my electrical crimpers, didn't leave with him..... He sure liked the ratcheting type, with changable jaws.
  15. Sweet & sour sauce........ For only the roosters, on this site.....
  16. Yup there should be some backlash, otherwise it may start to sound like a 2nd gen (or you break middle gear) & you don't want that.
  17. Have your hand on the head of the ratchet, do it up without a lot of force (just snug), that should be about right.
  18. He left Gary's this morning (I'm leaving tomorrow), his front fender is still off the scoot, he will need to fix it later, when ever he gets back home.
  19. If I am remembering correctly, a 1 & 3/16 cocket will work nicely (6 point preferable), a 14 mm for the other side (I used an old caliper mounting bolt, double nutted it).
  20. I carry mine in a pocket, but it has a belt clip too.
  21. Rocket

    Juggler????????

True, after all, Sarges46 & Black Owl will be there. I'm on my way down there, typing this from Regina.
  22. No help is really needed, you did fine all by yourself, by grabbing the wrong id. :rotf:
  23. That was ok, it was listing correctly, before I went in to talk with Bongo Bob.
