  1. Sounds like your main problem is only the fork springs....... But if you want to change it over to Mk2 front end, it's your call.

  6. Can't see why not, I use a Mk2 seat on my 83.......FYI the passenger seat on the Mk1 is narrower at the back & very slightly shorter, due to trunk being smaller, removable.
  7. You are correct, they are the same for all 1st gens.........
  8. After last weekend I thought you had a few screws loose:stickpoke:, I confirmed it today....... All three retaining screws for your gear indicator switch were loose. That is why the leak & indication problems. There is also a small crack at one of the switch mounting holes (not in the engine casting), but that should not be a problem, as it goes to the outer edge.

  10. Like I said before, you already paid for more parts, with the meals you had bought last weekend. The tricky part, will be timing the next US purchase, to get the best exchange rate possible. BTW I picked up the solid motor mounts today, from the post office.
  11. That bike was done up for a TV show called Patent Bending, was a quick subsitute. As their planned project was done by someone else, prior to the build. I know this, as I saw the show & that info was aired in the show.

  17. Same here this is just a spare set, being stored for whenever needed. I'm running Mk2 mufflers, with modified mounts.

  22. Out of province inspection & ICBC, if this is not costly enough, I have more..... Lift adapter would be a good thing to get, along with a lift, if you don't have one. :mo money:
  23. On the 1st gen, they are the same, M8x1.25.... I don't know about the 2nd gen, but one would think, they would use the same size.

  25. We get started on it next weekend, here in Wainwright. Basically just waiting for him to bring it up & the solid motor mounts to come in (easier to install with the engine out). I have all the anticipated parts & a few extra, here.
