  1. Also check the linkage adjustment, for the push rod that goes into the rear master. The push rod could be too tight (pressing up on the piston), there should be just a little play, between the rod & the piston. There is an adjusting bolt with a lock nut, facing to the rear at an angle.
  2. The piece behind the seal, has a locator pin, not the seal itself (seen it 2 weeks ago). The seal can be changed, in frame if needed.

  9. Nope, he has a 1st gen Mk2 (1300 CC), 1986 in fact. I had installed the Ebay filter adapter this winter, on my 83. The thaw is starting to happen, so time to finish putting the scoot back together.

  11. Are you suggesting putting power to a ground lead????? The spade connector plugs into the thermostatic switch, which closes the connection (grounds the circuit, allowing the fan to turn on), when at the set tempature. the bullet connector (behind the spade connector), is for the temp guage sending unit. Some have wired in a toggle switch along with the sensor. Just run another wire to the sensor & tap in, connect the other end to a toggle switch. The other side of the toggle switch connects to a ground point. This set up comes in handy, when sitting in traffic jams. But when moving, the fan rarely kicks in.

  13. Your bike is what we refer as a "Mk2" (1300 CC engine), with a totally different pressure plate setup. Yes, Barnett has a conversion kit for it.
  14. Take a closer look in the spring & cap holes, if I remember correctly, any cracks are usually on the side against the rotor.

  18. Just the Barnett springs are needed, as the scoot is a 84 (1200 cc). The pressure plate conversion is for the 86 & up motors (1300 cc). When I changed mine out, there was about 1/2" difference in the uncompressed length, between the old ones & the Barnetts. It cured mine of this problem, was a $20. CDN fix.

    D'OH!

    That is why, I reversed the internal cable on mine, as it can't be lost. Yes, it is more involved to lube it this way, but so what.....

  24. It is mounted below the slave cylinder. I had found that the one on Friesman1's bike was loose & leaking oil as a result. Try tightening the 3 mounting screws, but not too tight, as the plastic plate can be be brittle & crack. His had erratic readings, sometimes working & sometimes not.
  25. Like I told you before, I'll gladly take it off your hands, as it is a bolt on fit, for my rear bumper setup......
