Get a tire balancer for mc rims too, if you do this.

What is this word "slowly"????? This word clashes with riding a 1st gen, especially a '83 Mk1......
-
Yup that was quite the sight, pulling up alongside Marilyn & looking at the helmet pressing on her shoulder........... It was lights out as per normal, on that trip.........
-
Nope, just comparison between pulling the starter & doing a starter clutch. That is all.......
-
Here is the link to the starter clutch repair. This is after the stator & middle gear covers are removed. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5944 The exhaust pipe removal, for pulling the starter is much easier.

84 Venture poping noise
Rocket replied to Craig Gulley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You stole it, at that price.......... Fan kicks in, very close to the guage red area, on many of these bikes. But normally only kicks in, when sitting in traffic & bike is not moving. It is thought, by some members, that there is an calibration error, between the guage & sending unit........ Also check the drain / fill valve above the oil filter. OFF should be at the 2 O'clock postion, when looking at it. If it is in the ON position, the thermostat is bypassed. -
Probably, compared to your age.......

This kit is normally for the Royale with the built in sound system. But is it, an oem type radio added in, or aftermarket, on your bike??? There has been a few "Venture standards" that someone had put the optional radio into the bike. I pass the riders interface cable through that hole & have it end by the back edge of the fairig, where I plug my headset lower cord into it. The YV-41 kit was an option for the OEM sound system, on the 83-85 Royales. Many bikes did not have it installed, we get ??? about it from time to time. I found about this a few years ago & installed it on my bike.

The 3rd gens should be available, by the time he finishes up, fixing the scoot........ Notice I said nothing, about which year or decade (still a guessing game)..........
-
I already posted the link for the headset interface kit needed, rear control is only on the Mk2 (86 - 93), not the Mk1 Royale.
-
This was an option, for these bikes. There is 2@ 5 pin DIN jacks for the intercom plug ins, on the amp. Below is a link for the interface cables (better price than at J&M directly) & you will need the 5 pin lower cords, for any headsets you decide on.........http://www.sierra-mc.com/search.asp?pg=1&stext=yv-41&sprice=&stype=&scat=

With the donations, we help make sure this site stays up. This site, helps many people in various ways...... Some of us earlier members were in panic mode, from a site crash that lasted 3 days. What shape would we be in, if it shut down???????

New to the Venture Circuit as of Yesterday morning :)

Probably the ignition switch, these are known to fail (unlike the 1st gen switch)....... If I remember correctly there is a workaround posted in the 2nd gen tech section. -
Yup, he does the trunk ones too.

You didn't even help yourself, to some groundbeef????? Nice to hear, you are more or less OK.

84 left hand kill switch wanted?
Rocket replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You are looking for SWITCH 26H-82917-00-00.... Here is a European link, but their listing is a bit missed up. The picture shows item #13, but the order listing shows item #12, with the correct part #...... The cost of a new one, is not too bad. http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-xvz12l-1984_model9018/partslist/J-12.html This is the place, with the best price I have found on new mirrors. The cost of 2 new mirrors, including shipping was less than the cost of 1 mirror, from the USA parts listings, that I check... -
84 left hand kill switch wanted?
Rocket replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Could he be refering to the clutch switch???? As that should be tied into the cruise control, in addition to the starter interlock..... -
Yup you did...... I saw it & thought it would get dumped, as North American humor & attitudes is nothing like the British & European variety. Some here (probably not many), would know of the Benny Hill show.

So you are now, on a Vespa????????

I had the same thing, except the voices I hear are from the TV set.........

SWITCH 41V-82917-01-00 $36.18 "priced from Flatout MC" -
To check the rear sending unit operation. Follow the wire up the right frame tube, disconnect the wires & put in a jumper on the main harness side. power up the bike for the CMS to cycle through & see if the indicator stays off. You can do a similar test for the front sending unit (connection behind the headlight). This should narrow down the cause, of the warning light, if both reserviours are full. If these bypasses do not affect the warning light operation, then the CMS is probably at fault.
