  1. But he has others, to tinker with as well.
  2. Charlie, they allow Segways in Garson????? Hey it has 2 wheels, just side by side....
  3. Incoming PM, Dan......
  4. I guess you didn't read the initial post, close enough. The tire was installed last November (8 months ago).....
  5. Yup, you need a 1200 cc 1st gen. Or at least, do something about the 2nd gen rev limiter......
  6. I agree, he is not the first to miss this & probably won't be the last. They fit between the collector pipe & the mufflers. The gaskets are about 1/8" thick.
  7. So when are you going to get a spare ignition switch??? As these normally go, on a 2nd gen...
  8. Yup, flip it onto the valve covers & get started. The tech artical for 2nd gear repair is a good guide to use, for the tear down. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=508
  9. Yup, they changed out the soft thust washer previously used, somewhere during the 85 production run.
  10. To park outside the biker bar, behind Yammers blue one........ See this thread for pic..... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37486
  11. I installed all 3 of them on my 83, about a year & half ago. They are solid cross drilled rotors, much heavier than the OEM rotors.
  12. I was thinking, you were looking for a new target, for the bucket of water, when I saw the title........ Not the normal subject, for this group, food...............
  13. Probably the smaller one, is for his use (riding solo) & the larger one for her use (riding 2 up)...
  14. That won't hurt the scoot, it may hurt the wallet though (depending on how many speeding tickets you get)...............
  15. Did you pick up a 1st gen to play with, or are you going to try this with your 2nd gen????
  16. I totally agree.......... I did not give Friesman1, the choice on changing the springs out, when he told me of his forks bottoming out. As I had his scoot here in Wainwright, for repairs, simple enough to add that little job. He already had the new fork brace, but not yet installed. As I grabbed it off of his vehicle dash, the weekend we tore the scoot down. Since he got the scoot back, he has been too busy, out playing on it. :thumbsup2: So lots of luck in trying to track him down, aside from the meets.
  17. Or not enough oil in the unit, to reach the hole????? But the obstruction, should be more likely.
  18. This is 1st gen, not a 2nd gen & all fuses are on the power side, with these bikes (I haven't looked at 2nd gen wiring)............. The thermo switch is only a tempature controlled ground for the fan. Switch closed, ground circuit is completed & fan turns on. Switch opens, ground circuit is incomplete & fan turns off.
  19. Nope not here, I tossed them after the SS Braided upgrade, for both mine & Friesman1's. At a best price of $45 new, I can see why you are asking......
  20. The bike should have the rear control, attached to the left front of the trunk, as well. I believe the intercom hookup was OEM installed on the Mk2 & not an option, like the Mk1.
  21. From what I saw on the video, Swifty attacked the pond monster........
  22. You just had to give her ideas, didn't you............. I can picture her, cranking up photoshop now......
  23. Look at the front end of the saddlebags, you should see a key slot on each one. Rotate key & tap the saddlebags to the back (by hand). If these have not been used for a long time, the lock assy will need to be removed for servicing (cleaning & lube). They are held in by 3 screws, open the saddlebags, to get at the screws. The rear trunk retaining lock is below the opening lock & the trunk pushes forward to unlatch from the mount.
  24. Another possibility is the rear driveshaft & pumkin coupler teeth are shot. Like I previously, found on mine.
  25. For all we know, your wife had filled the bucket...............:rotf:
