  1. Try adjusting the throttle cables up at the handlebar, sounds like they are too tight (should be a trace of slack in both of the cables) & holding the butterfly open. You will probably have to adjust the idle speed screw afterwards, as needed.
  2. See what you started, we now have Whiteout conditions...... :bang head: Yesterday, I rode the scoot to work & today I had to use 4wd in the truck, to get to work. I am living in barracks, about 1/2 mile away from work. :snow::snow:
  3. George, you needed to highlight the last bit....... So I did it for you.
  4. When does he pay attention, sounds like he is just as bad as students, these days.....
  5. "The MV Marguerite was retired a number of years ago so there is no vehicle ferry service Seattle to Victoria BC " But there is still the one between Port Angeles & Victoria (MV Coho) & another one Anacortes - Sidney. Will have to take them one year....... Here is a link to the ferry routes, where I pulled the info from the associated links. http://www.ferrytravel.com/map.htm
  6. That is, if the needle is above the pin, on the gauge. A few members, have been caught by that one, after having the dash apart & the needle was below the pin.
  7. Your gonna need it....... BTW does Russ know where to send the flowers, once she finds out?????
  8. Squidley, Partshark.com (Flatout's newer internet sales) is listing, New Mirrors at $61.22 Each. GigaWhiskey, they did previously get up there in $$. But they were much cheaper in Europe, when I got my new ones. 2 mirrors + shipping, for less than the cost from Flatout at the time. They sold @ 20% over cost, before changing the internet sales over to partshark (which I think is still at the same % over cost).
  9. You sure you want a 2nd gen pumkin (99 - current)???? As you will have to plug the speedo sensor hole. Not positive, but Masterguns may still have a 1st gen Mk2 pumkin......
  10. Both are driven by the cable....... The inner cable may not be engaged in the drive unit. Is it still in there??? As the stock routing for it, is from the bottom up to speedo. I reverse it, so cable can't be lost, if the bottom connector comes undone. What I do when having cable dis-connected from the bottom end & re-connecting to drive unit. Bike on centerstand Front wheel off the ground, for rotating Rotate wheel, while putting inner cable into drive unit (cable housing retainer out of the way for visability) you should see cable rotating from drive unit gear, when engaged. Thead cable housing retainer to drive unit Done, take off of centerstand & test ride.
  11. Let it finish the POST (Power On Self Test) & after it reads 0.0, press the front or rear button to get a reading.
  12. If we can put, a 1st gen fairing onto the scoot, it will fit....................
  13. Not from Yamaha, as we were Quoted $600 each, in Cody last year, from the dealer. Buckeye stator works good, but how much down time can you endure, waiting for a re-build. I installed 2 stators from Ricks Motorspot Electrics in Cody, we got them overnighted in from www.DennisKirk.com http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=210366&store=Main&catId=&productId=p210807&leafCatId=&mmyId=16017 BTW I would not touch an Electrosport stator...........
  14. Good to know, but that scoot is back at home, 1,000 miles away from me. I still have about 20 Quad seals in my desk drawer, back there. No problems with the carbs since I last did them, but I will need to work on the engine sometime. Those seals I had previously used on the shafts, I got at a Hydraulic supply place in Victoria BC, which includes making new hydraulic lines, hoses & seals, parts to re-build pumps, controls.
  15. I went to a Hydraulic shop & got Quad seals (that's what they called them) for the carb shafts on my 750 Maxim before. Take a sample one with you, when you go looking.
  16. Possible new use for "Ride On".........
  17. I always use DOT 4 brake fluid............
  18. Another backup copy (just in case) will be good too...... I do not want to suffer again, from the effects, of a long term outage like in 2006 (3 days of no site + re-building the lost info since). If I remember correctly, it was a server crash & a corrupt backup that brought the site down, back then. :fingers-crossed-emo
  19. Sometimes the rad covering trim will interfere with removing the rad cap. I filed down the area, that caused problems with mine. Just try initially, removing the trim cover & see if the cap will come off normally.
  20. No change there, he's like that on 2 wheels too.............
  21. I installed 2 of these stators in Cody Wy, last Sept at the Venture Roundup. These are new stators too, not re-wound. One went into Grandpagak's '83 & another went into a scoot belonging to a friend of StuD's.
  22. We need to send a couple of those JFS 100 jet engines, over to Muffinman for his scoot project........... :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
  23. I had to restrain myself too..............
  24. Put the shaft in the freezer & the ring gear in the oven to create needed clearances for re-assembly, after you get the other stuff done.
