No spark to one cylinder, 1986 VR
Rocket replied to ahunt2412's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Mike, there is 4 coils, as in 1 per cylinder..... -
Don't Try this Kiddies. Not nice Border Guards.

From what he told me, no idea at all. Things were fine with the prior passport (since expired). About $1600. + tax to get a Lawyer, involved in this. All it takes, is for his name to be similar, to someone else on the list. So with that said, I wonder if my cousin (that I haven't seen in decades) can still go stateside??? As his first & last names are the same as Mike's. -
I know i'm going to catch some crap for this but...
Rocket replied to elmicko's topic in Watering Hole
Maybe you better go back to bed, as it looks like you're not over this bug yet. -
Was that pic taken, while EfishingC still had the 2nd gen????? Considering, how he used to load his 1st gen.

You may see us (and the scoot) in a soup commercial

Maybe a custom made helmet, if this keeps up. As anything out there, will be too small. -
Lift for 2008 Venture
Rocket replied to florycr3170's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Not needed, as we have a OEM center stand (unlike the 2nd gen). Also, we can put the jack directly under the exhaust, without any problems, if additional height is needed. -
Hey Swifty, just in case, if you are going to WING it. Better check to see if the WING will fit through the door, before buying (and ramp will hold it). I just can't see you, with a 2nd gen.

Center Stand Help
Rocket replied to pilothawk's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well, Bill is in the Navy (think Village People song). It only took 2 years, since Bill's post above. He has since been learning, to do different things with boards, as part of his Hull Tech training. Now his wife is happy & his honey do list is getting much longer....... New deck & other projects lined up..... :rotf: -
He's nearly as bad, from what I understand, he's in the oil industry & also has a 2nd gen (which should explain it)........
-
Considering the condition of the 2nd gen & having a Harly as well. He has slowed down a lot, if he's not riding the 1st gen. Maybe we better ship him a walker (or a Walmart scoot). He will need it soon, just to get around......... :rotf:

Muffler Chamber problem...HELP
Rocket replied to Meaton03's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Last price I saw on a Mark's Pipes collector (posted on this site), it was about $200. more, than a new OEM collector from Yamaha. :mo money: -
Can a 1st gen rear schock be rebuilt?
Rocket replied to 86er's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
No idea on if it can be re-built, but check Ebay & works performance has one. I think, progressive suspension has one too, for the 1st gens. -
I just checked, prior to this reply & it's still 16 deg C in Wainwright (8 hours riding time, due south to the border). Last year, we sent the southerners a bunch of snow & we had a milder winter (no minus 50 deg C at all). Were they ever griping, over that white stuff. Maybe we can do it again, this year..... :snow::rotf::rotf:

Could use a set for the 86, as the 83 was previously done.

What I had suggested, was to meet up with a few members, during your travels. I do threaten Condor, from time to time, of cleaning out his garage, as in a shopping trip. But I doubt that will happen, I have enough storage problems now.
-
Actually, I think StuD, has more than Condor, including a 1st gen trike in progress. StuD is also on the left coast, but on the Cdn side.

Your costume still needs work....... But you are about the right size, to dress up as fankinstien. Guess, we will need to hook you up to a couple of coils, to zap you. :rotf:

Only a day??? Usually with you, it is a week or more (usually much more)..... Besides it is way too early, to get into your haloween costume, or was this a trial run......

Where to buy shock?
Rocket replied to kartattack's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
As from what I understand, currently there is only Works & OEM. The Works is re-buildable. -
A little TLC Part II
Rocket replied to MikeZ06Allen's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I haven't had a stick in my hands all weekend....... Besides, I can't throw for you, from Alberta.... I know you meant the other Rocket, but I just could not pass this up. :rotf: -
He is right, I have an 83 Royale. Also see this. Currently the US Yamaha parts listing is off line, so the bikebandit listing is shown. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1983-yamaha-motorcycle-venture-royale-xvz12tdk/o/m7869 The Mk1 Royale have CLASS & Audio systems, the Standard had the Audio system as an option.
