Too bad I don't have room for it, on my way back to the wet coast, later this week. Otherwise, I could of made a side trip to get it, on the way home, bypassing you Rick.........

Solid motor mount minor issue
Rocket replied to dingy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yup, the collars are only to help keep the spacer lined up, while inserting the bolt. I encountered this a few years ago, with the solid mounts from Buckeye & did the same fix. -
I have 2 1st gens, that will be racking up the milage this summer (guessing at about 10,000 miles). That is, if Grump can handle the 83 VR ok & I will be on the 86 VR. Next month will be the test for him, on which bike he rides, the 83 VR or the 750 Nighthawk. I have been riding the 83 for 4 years & it has thoughly been gone over in this time. Bought the 86 last summer & it is well on its way to being ready. I still have a few small things to install & check out. :mo money:

More likely, worn out parts as well, hence the Trailer Queen scoot. I still recommend a trike for you, to keep you upright & riding.

Only thing, a magnetic bag will not stick to ABS plastic. You probably didn't notice, he is riding a 1st gen & sits above the fuel tank. I think others have used, strap on tank bags, but not positive on this.

It went from Muffinman's to Dano's (1st leg), now it needs to get to Portland Oregon, prefferably prior to the month of June. In order for it to be hooked up to Aussie Annies bike, that is being shipped over from Austraila, for the summer.

Kick stand too long?
Rocket replied to OldGazer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)

Normally the green stuff at a 50/50 mixture, but look to see what colour was put in first. As you do not want to mix Dex cool & the green stuff. You can get the antifreeze as a premix or regular & mix it yourself. 1985 - 2007 Vmax 1200 starters will bolt right up.

Also if the stock fork springs are still in there, it will not have as much lean as well. When I put progressives in the 83, it raised the front end by 3 inches, increasing the sidestand lean. -

Also check the cassette deck connection, sometimes a fubared cassette deck will result in no sound. One way to test, is to jump the power pos & neg on the cable that plugs into the bottom of the cassette deck.
