  1. Brian, sounds like the scoot is a bit "horny', sure there wasn't another 1st gen in the area..... :rotf::rotf:
  2. I bought 8' of 4 guage welding wire to make both cables. I did not add a ground to the starter. As the ground goes to the engine & the starter is well connected to it as well, so there should be no ground path issue there.
  3. See the bold text above, also nicknamed McBloaters.......
  4. Now it says "Venturerider", I believe it used to have International on it as well, as some lettering has been removed from it.
  5. I had beefed up both pos & ground cables on 3 @ 1st gens, the slow cranking disappered. I don't know, if Friesman1 had a hot start issue on his scoot previously. Before I did the upgrade, amongst the other work.
  6. What about the one Gary has for PIP??????
  7. Relax Ben, do you think I will make it there in 3 days, as I am in the parade in Victoria on the 23rd. I have over 6 days of planned stops in the northern states (without the travel time between). Remember, I'm travelling with a 70 yr old "Grump", it's his first long bike trip. I also am heading to Shilo MB this saturday (chartered flight) & may see sarges 46 later next week, before flying back to the wet coast.
  8. Coombs market http://www.oldcountrymarket.com/ shortly before Cathedral Grove http://www.cathedralgrove.eu/text/01-Cathedral-Grove-1.htm. Be careful on the road between Port Alberni & Tofino, it is very twisty & hilly in areas. There was an Ambulance that ended up in a lake & crew killed (driver fautige).
  9. Next as in the first Canadian, once a copy comes back up here.... Otherwise ????
  10. For me Chiro first, then I'll see the doc for meds if needed. Been that way for 16 yrs, since I tried Chiro.
  11. You couldn't keep up to it, even at idle speeds..... Time for the scoot to train you. If it does it right, you could end up as slim as Gary, from chasing the scoot. Bike, is much better looking too.
  12. A few of you guys, have know about this, for months...... Maybe, you are suffering from C.R.S.
  13. No I won't, as I should be around Ontario, or somewhere else, back east..... I probably won't be back home, until August.
  14. Better start looking for cracked solder joints within the controller, repair info in 1st gen tech library. Also look at the connectors going into the controller & at the compressor unit at the back. This will give you a good starting point, as cracked solder joints are common, due to the age of these bikes.
  15. Nope, but some are too good to pass up & it's best when no effort is needed to comment. :rotf::rotf:
  16. Look, an ice cream eating T Rex.........
  17. Nope, seafoam is for the carbs, pour some in the tank & run the bike.
  18. In other words, you figured out how to start it up??????
  19. I had similar a few years ago, but it was a loose #2 coil primary connection. Check those connections, you may possibly have 1 or 2 loose ones. These engines run surpisingly good on 3 cylinders......
  20. AAAAwwwww Russ, it shouldn't really matter (to you at least). After all, the scoot isn't bolted to the trailer yet...... I met up today with Kevin Vic BC, for coffee & he saw my 86 with the scoot trailer in tow behind it:canada:.
  21. So no ice cream for these two????? If so, Yammer is going to get really grumpy, watching others eating ice cream, at MD......
  22. That was him.
  23. Actually, we had a member over there previously, years ago. But I see his profile is gone, can't remember his screen name though, maybe someone else will.
  24. More likely, will forget, like the post counts after upgrades..... 2 weeks, sounds good to me as well.
  25. Ginny this thread is in the 2nd gen area, 1999 - current (the immature scoots:stickpoke:). Teasing happens, between the 1st gen & 2nd gen owners, so don't be surprised. But as for your question, heel toe shifters are hard to find for the 1st gens. Good thing too, or there would probably be more broken stator cases. The 1st gen heel toe setup, was not as well thought out, as it should have been.
