There’s no second gear issues. I hit it waiting for it to get up like my old VMaxx but just not the same🤨. Post pics of the temp gauge tomorrow after work. Working both jobs today.

One more quick question. My temp gauge gets almost red line , seems like in no time. Bad thermostat or is that common to heat up like that??

I just done a dry compression test. Need to do some with some oil to find out if it’s the rings. I’ve thought about pulling the valve cover off and checking the valve lash since it needs valve cover gaskets anyway. I was hoping this bike would be a easy fix but sounds like I need to put all over tlc into this bike. Well at least motor engine wise.

The motor that is on the bike now has between 100-160 psi per cylinder that’s why was thinking on changing motors. Also the side covers are getting oxidized so I want to polish the aluminum so I need to pull them off. Also the valve covers are leakingSo I thought if I do that along with buying a gasket set might as well use the one with less miles.

I’m thinking about going back to the original 83 motor and was told it was leaking antifreeze out the head gasket. Also it has less miles.

Sorry for 20 questions here. But how bad is it to pull the head off and getting the chain back in the correct place?

Does it matter which year of tci I have. I have the original motor for it but the guy said it had a blown head gasket. I like to replace the gasket and put that motor back on because I was told it has a lot less miles on it.

I believe it is a 83 motor but wasn’t sure on the carbs. Maybe switch the hoses and plug the other off. The hose is a little big but tighten it with better clamp.

On my 84 Venture I noticed a tube sticking out with nothing on it.(carb #2 ) There is a small diameter hose hooked to where you synchronize the carbs. Can’t really see where this small hose goes to yet until I start pulling more stuff off. Should this small hose go onto the tube and the tube for the sync gauges be plugged off?

It’s the metal tube that goes across in front of the motor that has the drain cock assy,it goes over to the thermostat housing. I couldn’t find it on that website. You can see the the tube and housing under the radiator section. But just not a good enough picture

Does anyone know what size o-ring I need to put on the tube that goes across the front of the motor to into the thermostat housing?it had one in it then covered with jb weld. I want it done right. I didn’t do it bought the bike that way. Thanks in advance

The video I seen on tube must had some carbon drop down and scratch the walls or the car might have been junk and they are just trying to pin it on seafoam. I just never used the stuff. The guy I got my venture from said to use a cap full. So I might try more than that. I will check the gap on the valves too this weekend. Where’s the best place to get shims if I need them I heard a lot of thing use the same type of shims. Thanks everone for helping me out!!

I was told it helps to tie it down on a trailer. Maybe maybe not.
