Here in lovely SC, I ride pretty much all year. The only thing that limits my riding is rain on colder days, the wife limits riding sometimes also. Seems that honey-do list gets longer all the time. So I try to work off things on the list when the forecast calls for rain, kind of hard to rake the yard though.

:rasberry::rasberry::moon::moon: Got out yesterday for a couple of hours. It felt sooooo good to blow the cobwebs out. Sorry to rub it in on all of ya'll in the great white north. If it makes you feel better, I enjoyed the ride for all those snowed in.

Hey Sleeperhawk, you need to space all that fun out. Reduce your down time, thats just poor planning man:rotf: Sounds like you missed the torque spec on the drain plug. You are supposed to tighten till JUST before it strips the threads. Sorry to hear about the mishap, let me know if you need a hand getting the scoot back together. I'll see if Kit wants to ride over to rub it in a little and show off the new scoot. By the way, I have new bars to put on also. But I checked the ten day forecast before I tore the bike down.:moon:

Excellent idea, sure wished I had that in my cell a few yrs back. I was in an accident, found at the scene knocked out cold. When the paramedics got there and realized the situation was very serious, it took them almost an hour to reach the wife. I had an employer ID card on me, called them to get transfered twice to HR, put on hold for twenty minutes while a temp. found my info to pass on to the EMS. ICE would have saved ALOT of trouble for EMS and my wife.

:bowdown::bowdown: Nice lookin scoot Kit, must have a thing for black bikes. Whats that old saying " Once you go black, you never go back". So you got the floor boards and heel toe shifter, now lets find some straight pipes and ape hangers to fit it too!:rotf: Hey it is supposed to be in sixty degrees this Sunday, whta do you say we get together so I can see that thing first hand? I'll see if Bobbie and George can crawl out of the dungeon for a couple of hoursand join us. Of course you will have to lead, what with a nice shiny new bike and all. I also want you to show me on a map where you got the pics of the Confederate graveyard.

:guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2: Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent, love that song Strangelhold!!!! And how about KISS, the greatest rock n roll band ever. My favorite song ever is still Strutter. I came along just before cassettes kicked the 8 track off the planet. Still remember replacing all of my Jefferson Starship and CCR 8 tracks with cassettes. Now I just buy the songs on-line and load em on an MP3. Times sure have changed!:backinmyday: Lets keep this thread rolling, its been a nice ride down memory lane! Like the Dead sang, "What long, strange trip it's been" -
I agree with about Jamie, miss her alot in the MC rag, I did enjoy her editorial column too, always made me laugh. I have picked up a couple copies of Bagger also, not bad, they do casually discuss metrics. My favorite is still Motorcycle Cruiser, great tech section, Mark Zimmerman is very knowledgeable. Second on my list is Road Bike, they don't bow down to the HD alter.

Poor George, I feel bad for ya. All you have to look forward to on Christmas Day is Bobbie takin you down in the dungeon now. Hope the polishing rags work out for you. I got my wife a bottle of wax and a new buffer, should be a gift that keeps on giving! The pipes sound great, I guess Kit's pipes made you a little green with envy. BTW, I'm still planning on the 29th to ride up with you guys. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Dexx, don't have much advice to add. Kit covered things pretty well. But I will offer any assistance I can to help you get employment. I relocated from NC 6 yrs ago, little bit different circumstances, but I still feel your pain. I would be happy to help out. You will definatly love the winter riding down here, 80 degrees for the last 3 days. Good luck, and IM me if I can be of assistance. PS, you know you will change from being a yankee to a damn yankee!:rotf:

Man, I'm still full from all that BBQ and pie!!! A wonderfull time was had by all. Too bad all of our friends from the north can't get out in Dec. like we can down here.:bawling:Oh well, April is only 5 months away!!!!

We had a great time. Perfect weather, great company, spectacular BBQ & pie, and not a 1st gen in sight! We couldn't have asked for a better day of riding. Thanks to Kit, Sleeperhawk and his beloved Mechanic for allowing me to come along. By the way, Kits new pipes sound goooood! Sorry to rub it in on all of you in the great white north.

Hey Kit, Nice pipes,I have been eyeballin them for a while. Would love to catch up with you this weekend to hear them. Let me know when and where if you would like to hook up for a ride. By the way, how does the wife like the extra decibels?

:cool10: Sure you can join in, as long as you don't go ragging on engineers. Then you get a big fat raspberry! :rasberry::rasberry:

Hey Lou (AKA Blues Lover), next time I'm up in Vermont I'll have to look you up to see how the two Elgins compare. Can't imagine yours could be nicer , maybe though.

Seriously, never heard of Elgin, man you must live out in the boonies. Elgin is where it ALL happens, at least before 8:00 pm, then the streets roll up. Now, for raggin on engineers

I totaly agree, this site is by far a great place to "hang out". I too have been on other motorcycle sites, only to be ridiculed by the model of bike I ride or the state I reside in, realy childish stuff. Here it is more like a family, kindness and respect, you don't find that much any more. I am very proud to consider myself part of this, as every one here should. We don't need a site administrater watching every post as most do a great job of policing theirselves. Thanks to all who contribute to this wonderful site.

I just installed the MT90 front tire on my RSTD. WOW! What a difference, best change I have made on this bike. Better handling with no draw backs. Thanks to all who did the R & D work, trying different sizes.

I gotta say I'm sorry I haven't been in the chat room for over a week now. I have that nagging problem called a job that has kept me out of town. I do miss talking to mama and minimuffin though. Hope you haven't pulled the whip out on the new guests yet. I just got back home yesterday and plan on catching up tonight. Look forward to "seeing " everyone again. :moon:

All this talk about Chinese toys makes me glad I bought Yard Darts and and a pellet gun for the kid this year .... Seriously, this Chinese crap that they are trying to sell us at Wally-world is getting out of hand, time to teach the kids how to play kick the can and hide and go seek.Thats about as safe as you can get, and it gets them off the couch and outside in that fresh air.

Gotta hand it to Bobbie and George, they put on a great weekend for us. Way to start a newbie off on the M&E's. Everybody else that hosts a M&E in the future has a lot to live up to. I met a lot of new friends and have to say everybody was so much fun to be around. I just want to go on record here, I did not throw a single peanut, so if we aren't allowed back at the Texas Roadhouse,it's not my fault! Can't wait for the next gathering. Thanks to all for giving me such a warm welcome, guess your stuck with me now!

Time to get up on the old soap box after what I experienced in Charleston SC this past Sat. It seems Charleston has a new city ordinance, no motorcycles are allowed to park in public parking lots or garages. I found out the hard way, entered a parking garage and was chased down by an attendant and told to leave. After a brief discussion with the attendant I was informed of the city ordinance. I have made some inquiries into this matter and was informed that, get this, motorcycles are clogging the streets of Charleston and creating too much noise. I'll concede on the noise part, but clogging the streets. So, instead of ticketing offending bikes with loud pipes, they choose to discriminate against all bikes. Well, I was told I could park on the street in the metered spaces, which run for two hours before you need to put more change in. My time ran out and I ended up with a parking ticket to boot. To put it bluntly, I was totally pissed. Ruined what should have been a wonderful day. So now fellow Venture Riders, do we really want to go where we are not wanted? As much as I hate it, I won't be taking trips to Charleston, if they don't want my bike, they must not want my hard earned money. I plan on spreading the word to as many forums as I can. May even send a letter or two to a few magazines. Please feel free to tell others about this, I would like to think we as a group can change some attitudes towards riders. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

I am very interested to see what you can do. I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out. Allways hoped Yamaha would step up to the plate and design something, probably cost a kings ransom though. If it looks good, I would definately be interested in procurring one from you. GOOD LUCK:fingers-crossed-emo

She made a fairly poor attempt to get a pic of the "good stuff". At least she tried:whistling: Any how , good time was had by all, free hotdogs helped. All those high priced Hogs , they could have afforded a cold Pepsi. Best part was the ride around the lake. Thanks to Bobbie and George for a fine afternoon . Look forward to the next time. Besides, I got the scoop on all the oldtimers". Lookin forward to meeting you all.

Have not seen one in the flesh, just rags. It's probably gonna be reliable, Victory has done its homework on bikes. But you still have to look at that thing when you walk up to it to get on, I think I'd puke if I had to see it everyday. Just my opinion.

did that test with a Roadliner truck and a Detroit Diesel engine, 40 quarts worth of fine OPEC petrolium spreads out on a shop floor in a HURRY. Lessons learned hard are lessons learned well.
