Wow!! I find it amazing that with all the known problems...people DEFEND this tire!! You know, the odds are, 5 out of 6 times you'll still be alive after playing Russian roulette....Doesn't make sense to me.. I don't wanna play....

Hey everyone, Well...the trip went as planned. Left kankakee illinois on sunday morning. Had a wonderful ride down to Batesville Miss. Shortly after we stopped, a torrential storm rolled through( couldn't see across the parking lot!). By Monday morning it was clear and sunny.....sooo...off we went. Stopped by Biloxi Miss. found the Air Force Base & apartment that we lived in during avionics school(not as nice now!) then visited a friend we haven't seen in 18 years!!!left the next morning,on our way to Pensicola beach and Gulf Breeze... we met up with Glen, a member on this board who gave us valuable local info as well as general good stories of travels and experiences. A very nice guy!! Glad we got to meet up with Glen!!!Stopped for the night in clearview Florida. Next day made it to Columbia South Carolina(hot as he..) 99 deg heat index at 5:00pm!! almost melted! Thursday was the BEST ride of the trip....North Carolina,Virginia & stopping to visit more military friends in Beckley Wesy Virginia...BEAUTIFUL scenery, absolutely breath-taking!!!Stayed there all day Friday. Left Beckly West Virginia on Saturday morning, came up on the south side of Indianapolis just AFTER the storm hit. I65 & rt 31 were closed due to flooding!! Had to re-route over to I74 And catch I65 in Indy. Took us 12 hours to get home Saturday...but we made it safe & sound. Thought you'd all like to know. We had a great time ...the bike was awsome(except for my tailbone) and the wife has already started planning next year's trip!!!! Thanks again to Glenn for the "tunnel info" and the Cokes!!

Hi everybody... Well the new RSV has all of 900 miles on it and the wife & I are going to take it on our first "long" trip. We'll be leaving Kankakee Illinois(about 40 miles south of Chicago) Sunday morning & heading south. Plan on being in Kiln Ms. on Monday afternoon to visit a friend we have'nt seen in 18 years. Then through Biloxi & on to St. marks Fl. on Tuesday. With any luck at all on Wed. we'll be in Mt. Pleasant SC. Thursday night we'll be visiting friends in Princeton West Virginia. Friday..........Sitting in a lawn chair at a campground, fishing and drinking beer (not toooooo much though...he-he). Sat & sun will be the trip home! We are pretty excited!!!! And of course all is subject to change depending on weather & how we feel.I think we're ready. new rain gear, spf 30 chapstick, sun block, luggage(of course),made beaded seat covers out of a car seat cover from Wally-World......Any other suggestions???? Thanks to all....I'll have it on channel 29( RIGHT?) I'll fill you in on the trip after we get home!!!

I just called my local stealer & asked what they did on a 600 mile maint. "oil change, rear end lube, tighten bolts, check steering nut torque & lube cables, figure about 350 bucks." I think I can do all that stuff on my own. I'm not a motorcycle mechanic, but I have been a Ford mechanic for abut 25 years now. so withe the money I save I'll get a good service manual.

Do I have to do the 600 mile maint. at the dealer.....or can I just change my own oil & rear end lube???? And, if I do it myself, does it effect the warrenty?? I'll take it in if I have to....I just dont wnt to pay 250 bucks for an oil change!! Thanks.
